Cañizares Center for Emerging Markets Naming
We are proud to announce that the Emerging Markets Institute (EMI) has been renamed the
Cañizares Center for Emerging Markets (EMC²)
in honor of Gail and Rob Cañizares, BS ’71, MBA ’74, and the Cañizares family. This milestone reflects their extraordinary commitment to advancing global business education and fostering meaningful dialogue on the critical role of emerging markets in shaping the future of the global economy.
The Cañizares Center for Emerging Markets will build upon EMI’s distinguished legacy of rigorous research, thought leadership, and deep student engagement. At the same time, EMC² will expand its role as a global convening platform to exchange ideas, build bridges across regions, and generate impact where it matters most.
As we enter this new chapter, EMC² reaffirms Cornell’s position at the center of global conversations on innovation, development, and inclusive growth across emerging economies.
