Creating Connections and Community
The
College events calendar
aims to improve and streamline the experience of undergraduates, enhance administrative processes, and encourage greater collaboration in our shared interests and strengths. More broadly, the calendar connects people across the University and College.
Logging In
Anyone with a HarvardKey can log into the calendar. Logging in allows users to follow departments, offices, and locations, express interest in events, and see private events.
Non-Harvard users can only view public-facing events on the calendar.
Event Submissions
All event submissions will be reviewed before they are posted. During the review process, submissions will be checked for spelling, clarity, conciseness, and appropriateness.
Please allow up to 3 business days for your event to be posted.
Only events that are open to undergraduates will be approved
The listing of events on this platform is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an endorsement or sponsorship of the content of such events.

Events should:
be sponsored by an official University office, department, center, or other organization
be open to undergraduates
include a time, place, and complete description
be placed in appropriate categories
include a photo description (alt text), if applicable
Events should not:
contain or promote offensive or inappropriate content (profanity, alcohol, etc.)
use ALL-CAPS in the title or description (except for acronyms)
Please do not submit Student Organization events. Public facing events are automatically imported from
theHub
on a daily basis. If you are hosting a private event or do not see your event listed, contact
soch@fas.harvard.edu

To Edit Submitted Events (not yet approved)
To see your submitted events, login to the calendar and click on the Harvard College icon in the top right of the page. On the dashboard, click an event, then choose “Edit Event” at the bottom of the event to make changes.
To Edit Approved Events
Login to the calendar and navigate to your event either by filtering through the Calendar itself, or by visiting your dashboard accessed at the Harvard College icon at the top right of the page. Click on the event, then choose “Edit Event” on the bottom of the event to make changes. Note that the updated event will be removed from the public calendar until it is reapproved.
Discovering Events
There are several ways to search for events in the calendar. You can browse the general list of upcoming events; filter by location, category, academic area, services, experiences; or search for a specific event, either by date or keyword(s).

After turning this notification on, you will receive notifications on events by clicking “
I'm interested
". The event will be added to your personal plans in your dashboard. If it is a repeating event, you will be prompted to select all dates or specific instances of the event that you are interested in attending.
There are two notification emails:
Reminder:
The day before the event, users who selected "I’m Interested" will automatically receive an email reminder to attend the event.
Review:
The day after the event, users who selected "I’m Interested" will automatically receive an email prompting them to review the event.

You can navigate to Location, Academic Areas, Offices, Services, and Residential pages in the Resources menu on the
Calendar homepage
By following one of these groups, it will be bookmarked in your dashboard under "
Following
". All of their upcoming events will also be added to your personal plans in your dashboard.

Saving Events
Adding events to your personal calendar
On each event, there is an option to save to your personal calendar. Under the description of the event, click on “
Add to calendar
.”
Email Digest
Get a personalized list of events in your inbox every week. Digests are a great way to stay informed and engaged in your community without having to proactively visit the calendar. They can also be customized to match your preferences.

Navigate directly to the
Email Digest page
Access through the Resources menu on the
Calendar homepage
Click on “
Build an Email Digest
” in your dashboard. To access your dashboard, click on the Harvard College icon on the top right of the
calendar
after logging in.
Dashboard and Settings
Your dashboard shows an overview of your upcoming plans and areas that you are following. You can modify your notification preferences in settings.
Login to the
College calendar
at the top of the homepage. After you are logged in, click on the dropdown next to the Harvard College shield and navigate to the dashboard and settings.

to learn the ways in which Harvard University may obtain personal information about individuals who use the Localist College Calendar platform managed by Harvard College Communications.

Dashboard
On the dashboard homepage, view your calendar activity, create an email digest, or build a widget for your website.
Your personal plans will appear in this section after selecting "
I’m interested
" on events.
If you are following a Location, Academic Area, Offices, Services, or Residential group, you will automatically be subscribed to all of that group's events.

This page includes Locations, Academic Areas and Office, Service, or Residential Landing pages that you're following. You can also search for other groups you may be interested in.

Settings
You can modify your
notifications
by navigating to the Communications section in your dashboard. Login to the
College calendar
at the top of the homepage. After you are logged in, click on the dropdown next to the Harvard College shield and navigate to settings.
By default, you will only receive notifications on the status of event submissions.
You can change these settings anytime
Please note:
Once you select: "
Details changed on event I'm attending,
" (see screen shot above) you will receive notifications on events which you have selected “
I’m Interested
”.
By following an office, department, etc, all of their upcoming events will be added to your personal plans in your dashboard and you will receive notifications on each event.
