Mission
Food Bank for the Heartland's mission is to eliminate hunger in the Heartland by ensuring consistent access to healthy foods through community partnerships. The Food Bank works with more than 500 Network Partners, including pantries, schools, churches, emergency shelters, and other non-profit organizations in 93 counties across Nebraska and western Iowa-offering multiple hunger-relief and nutrition programs. The Food Bank receives donated food from retailers, manufacturers, and individuals. The Food Bank also purchases food, with an emphasis on food with high nutritional value, in order to meet the need for assistance.
