GLL (Better) provide leisure services on behalf of Newham Council
GLL started its 10-year partnership with Newham Council in April 2024 to deliver leisure services on behalf of the local authority under the brand 'Better'. The shared aim is to increase physical activity levels and improve the customer experience for Newham residents, both in leisure centres and within their local community. As a values-driven organisation, GLL’s strategic plans and principles align with the Council’s priorities. They also directly contribute towards the local authority’s 50 Steps to a Healthier Newham (2024-2027) strategy, as well as the Well Newham approach.

4 - Select 'single payment' on your payment type

The Physical Activity Inclusion Fund is a community-focused initiative aimed at developing new ways to encourage physical health and wellbeing across Newham.

Our sessions are designed to provide multiple opportunities for people across Newham, removing barriers such as high cost, travel and non-inclusivity.  Our community sport and physical activity programme is updated every quarter, showcasing all the sessions we have on offer in the borough.

Our family fun sessions give the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy quality time together. Swim for All takes place in our main 25m swimming pool and is inclusive of all ages and abilities. We offer specially designed swimming sessions for children aged 3 months to 4 years, focusing on playful, engaging activities that help you and your little one develop lasting confidence and enjoyment in the water.

Our Creche for under 5's gives you the chance to take part in leisure activities, knowing your children are well-cared for. Our creche has a a maximum stay of up to 2 hours. Booking is essential and places are limited so we're afraid any no-shows (including Prepaid members) will result in the full charge being made. Aqua Splash and Aqua Play
Did you know we host Family fun Swim sessions in our teaching pool? We also have fun slides and a bubbe pool area to make the experience even more memorable. Next time you're looking for an activity for the whole family to enjoy! Our Aqua Play sessions are perfect for a fun family swim, this session is ideal for family with chilren aged 8 & under, or just simple way to enjoy a more casual swim with your family and friends. This session takes place in our Training Pool.
