We provide programs and services through the following Divisions: Aging and Human Services The Aging and Human Services Division is designated as the Area Agency on Aging and the Aging & Disability Resource Center, Maryland Access Point for Charles County. They offer a wide range of programs and services to promote independence and improve the quality of life for older persons. Housing Authority The Housing Authority Division administers a variety of services and programs for low to moderate income families and those seeking housing assistance. Charles County Advocacy Council for Children, Youth, and Families (Local Management Board) The Charles County Advocacy Council for Children, Youth, and Families plans, manages, and evaluates services for families and children through contracts with public and private human service agencies. Child Care Programs The Department of Community Services’ Child Care Program, provided by AlphaBEST offers a Before and After School Program at Charles County Elementary Schools and an Onsite all day Child Care Program and Before and After School Program located at the Department of Community Services Building in Port Tobacco.
