The
Computer Science Lab (CS Lab)
provides tutoring and additional academic support for students pursuing computer science at Lehman College. Whether you're stuck on an assignment, want to debug code, or just need a structured place to work with support nearby. Our services are designed to help students succeed academically and grow professionally.
The CS Lab offers drop-in group tutoring, computer access for completing coursework, and targeted review sessions based on student needs. We also foster a collaborative learning environment where students can connect with peers, mentors, and faculty.
In addition to academic support, the CS Lab hosts career exploration workshops that help students build their professional portfolios and prepare for future opportunities in the tech industry.

Services Offered
In-Person Group Tutoring
Visit us in GI Hall 222 for drop-in support.
Remote Tutoring
We offer two formats:
Zoom-based live sessions (using passcode 219906 to join)
and
email
assistance.
Study Hall Access
Use the lab space for studying and borrow laptops, textbooks, webcams, and a Vibe Board for collaboration.
Workspace
Located in Gillet Hall 220, featuring multiple workstations with CS-related software such as Eclipse and Python
Workshops & Career Sessions
Attend
academic and career exploration workshops
Slack Support
For CMP 167 and CMP 168 students, we provide direct message support through your Slack channel.
AI Learning Tools
We’re piloting AI learning tools in select computer science courses, including a course-aligned chatbot tutor. To ensure effective and responsible use, AI Prompting Workshops held throughout the semester teach prompt design, code generation, debugging, and strategies to deepen conceptual understanding.

Workshops & Summer Upskilling
We host academic and career-focused workshops during the semester to support learning and professional development. These include exam reviews, peer-led coding interventions, AI prompt engineering sessions, and hack-a-thons. Events may vary each term, and offered at selected times during the semester open to all CS students.

In July and August, we offer upskilling workshops using

. These workshops provide hands-on coding practice, resume-building strategies, and completion certificates — perfect additions to your career portfolio.
