April 27, 2026 — Moser Radiation Building area affected
Moser Radiation Inlet Repair — alert 1
Starting Monday 27 April 2026, Utilities Distribution will deploy a subcontractor to the Moser Radiation building to repair damaged storm inlets. Parking disruption will occur to the 2 spaces noted in red on image attached. This scope will be completed by 30 April 2026
No impact to existing building exits and sidewalks.
May 2, 2026 — 515 Ray C Hunt Building area affected
UVA-Encompass Health Renovation — alert 7
There will be a road closure in front of the 515 buildings on Saturday May 2, 2026.
Road will close around 6am and will reopen by 6pm.
A crane will be set up in the road to lift equipment to the roof of the 515 building.
Area in blue is the current construction fencing location.
Area in red is the additional construction fencing location for Saturday May 2.
No impact to existing building exits and sidewalks.
April-May, 2026 — 400 Ray C Hunt Drive area affected
Fontaine Research Park Parking Garage Project — alert 10
As part of the Fontaine Research Park Parking Garage Project, rework is required in connection with the vehicular bollards at the southeast concrete pedestrian crossing. This work will be phased to maintain pedestrian accessibility.
Phase 1 is scheduled to start Monday, April 27. See Exhibit 1 on page 2, area of work is shown in red. The pedestrian pathway is shown in yellow. This work will be completed by Friday, May 1.
Phase 2 is scheduled to start Monday, May 4. See Exhibit 2 on page 2, area of work is shown in red. The pedestrian pathway is shown in yellow. This work will be completed by Friday, May 8.
There will be typical construction equipment noise associated with this work.
All buildings will maintain their means of egress.
This work is subject to change due to weather conditions. A revised construction alert will be sent accordingly.
Work blocks existing sidewalks.
April 23-24, 2026 — Mews Alley area affected
Mews Alley Renovation — alert 1
On Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24 Mews Alley will be closed to
vehicular traffic for utility mapping and potholing. Work will occur from 8am to
5pm both days.
There will be no impact to pedestrians access.
Emergency and life safety vehicles will be able to access Mews Alley at all times.
April 21-23, 2026 — Multiple areas affected
Crosswalk Repairs — alert 1
Scope of Work: 4/21 - 4/23, NIGHT WORK
Work will be done between the times of 6pm - 4am
Traffic control will assist with directing traffic
The project team will be repairing crosswalks at the following locations:
McCormick Road at Shannon Library
McCormick Road at Monroe Hill Road
McCormick Road at Bonny Castle
McCormick Road at Cabell Drive
Culbreth Road at Helms & Chaplin Theater
Massie & Leonard Sandridge Intersection
Leonard Sandridge at Ivy Garden Apartments
No impact to existing building exits and sidewalks.
April 20-24, 2026 — Kirtley Office Building area affected
Kirtley Office Building Inlet Repair — alert 1
Starting Monday 20 April 2026, Utilities Distribution will deploy a subcontractor to the Kirtley Office building to repair damaged storm inlets. Parking disruption will occur in 2 spaces. This scope will be completed by 24 April 2026.
April 23, 2026 — JPA in front of South Lawn/Nau Hal area affected
Storm Detention/Pipe Cleaning — alert 1
A lane shift along JPA in front of South Lawn/Nau Hall will occur on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
No impact to existing building exits and sidewalks.
April 6 - May 2026 — Southbound Lane of Copeley Rd area affected
North Grounds Parking Garage — alert 7
Southbound lane of Copeley Rd. will be closed from Peyton Ct. to Massie Rd. between April and mid-May. The northbound lane of Copeley Rd. will remain open.
Pedestrian traffic will be allowed along Copeley Rd. between Peyton Ct. and Massie Rd.
During this time, daytime work will also occur at the northwest corner of Copeley Rd. and Massie Rd. Traffic signal adjustments and flaggers will be present from approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. daily, Monday to Friday.
Short term adjustments will be made to accommodate events at the JPJ Arena.
Flaggers, signage and cones will be established to direct traffic and pedestrians around the closures.
Work blocks existing sidewalks.
March 23-July 1, 2026 — Garrett Hall to Davis Wing area affected
Tunnel Abatement and Insulation — alert 1
Numerous tunnel access points from Garrett Hall to Davis Wing will be used for asbestos insulation removal and reinsulating of existing piping was asbestos removal is complete. All access points will not be open simultaneously.
Work blocks existing sidewalks.
January-April, 2026 — Jefferson Park Avenue and Stadium Road areas affected
Verve — alert 7
Between January 2026 and April 2026, there will be four scheduled road closures/modifications along Jefferson Park Avenue (northbound and southbound) and Stadium Road (northbound and southbound). During each closure/modification, detour signage and flaggers will be in place to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow. The attached map shows the impact.
Pedestrians: The current pathways on Stadium Rd., Emmet St., and JPA will remain in place until Q3 2027.
