The Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA) requires that postsecondary institutions
participating in federal student aid programs make certain disclosures to students.
The following information is disclosed to you as a student at Skagit Valley College
(SVC) in compliance with federal law. For additional information, including requesting

Cost of Attendance
You can view the latest estimates concerning the
cost of attending SVC
in our FAQ section of the financial aid website. These costs include tuition and
fees, books and supplies, living expenses, transportation, and any additional costs
for a program in which the student is enrolled or expresses an interest.
Students may use the Net Price calculator to estimate their cost of attendance. The
estimates provided by this calculator apply to full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking
undergraduate students only. These estimates do not represent a final determination,
or actual award, of financial assistance or a final net price; they are only estimates
based on price of attendance and financial aid provided to students in a previous

of a financial aid package; rights and responsibilities of students receiving Title

Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Public Disclosure Information
Skagit Valley College has signed and returned to the Department of Education, the
Certification and Agreement related to the receipt and subsequent disbursement of
the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Funds. This information is available on the

Intercollegiate Athletic Program Participation Rates and Financial Support Data (Equity
in Athletics Disclosure Act)
In compliance with the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act,
information on men’s and women’s athletic programs at SVC

Privacy of Student Records (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that gives
students the right to review their education records, to request amendment of their
records, to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information, and to
file complaints with the U.S. Department of Education.

Refund Policy and Requirements for Withdrawal
If a student withdraws or drops a course, SVC will adhere to its official College
refund policy which is available in
SVC’s Student Services Operational Policy and Procedure Manual under section 5000
subsection 5345
Services for Students with Disabilities
The
Disability Access Services (DAS)
office provides support services for students with disabilities to ensure equal access
in the educational environment.
Student Body Diversity
Information about student body diversity and

Required textbooks and course material information

Title IV Student Complaint Process
The Higher Education Act (HEA) prohibits an institution of higher education from engaging
in a “substantial misrepresentation of the nature of its educational program, its
financial charges, or the employability of its graduates.” 20 U.S.C. §1094(c)(3)(A).
Further, each state must have “a process to review and appropriately act on complaints
concerning the institution including enforcing applicable state laws.” 34 C.F.R.
§ 600.9.
The Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) maintains
a process to investigate complaints of this nature brought by community and technical

Vaccination Policies
SVC offers programs that may have vaccination requirements, depending on each program
of study. Please refer to the program requirements for information. SVC does not have
a requirement of vaccination for all students.

Information on voting in local, state, and federal elections, including registration

Workplace Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program
Annually SVC provides employees with a copy of the Workplace Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Prevention Program Employee Notice that states that the unlawful manufacture, distribution,
dispensing, possession or use of controlled substances is prohibited in the workplace.
