Text messaging is a part of our strategy to address the unmet mental health needs of college and university students, including those from underserved and under-resourced communities.​
Through our partnership with the Crisis Text Line, the Steve Fund promotes text messaging as a means to improve access to crisis counseling for young people, with a focus on those from underserved and under-resourced communities.

Become a Crisis Text Line Counselor
To become a Crisis Counselor volunteer, you must:
Pass a background check
Have a US Social Security number
Be at least 18 years old
Have access to a computer with a secure, reliable internet connection
Agree to the CTL
Code of Conduct
Commit to volunteering 4 hours a week for 1 year
