Instructional Framework
The Granite School District Instructional Framework was developed collaboratively across district departments to accurately represent the evidence-based instructional practices embedded in the GSD Strategic Plan. The framework includes each of Granite School District’s top priorities. You will notice student learning placed at the center of the framework to demonstrate our central commitment to students. You will then see the basic elements of a high quality instructional cycle including the components of Lesson Design, Lesson Delivery, and Student Assessment. In Granite, teachers prioritize designing and reflecting on their high quality instructional cycles, individually and with their Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). During a lesson, teachers and students regularly engage in the evidence-based practices you see outlining Student Learning. The high quality instructional cycle components are reinforced through ongoing, job-embedded coaching in: lesson design, student engagement, lesson delivery, assessment, classroom culture and behavior supports, all of which contribute to meaningful learning and career and college readiness. The framework rests on the foundational pillars of Granite School District’s commitment to Equity, Proficiency-Based Learning, Social Skills and Dispositions and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. Using the instructional framework reminds and empowers each of us to work together around our common priorities to meet the educational needs of each student.
Below are links to the individual components of the Instructional Framework.  These components are used in Granite classrooms by teachers in preparing lessons and materials for students.
