The EFL professors and Zen students experienced dynamic learning during the pandemic. Thus, new scenarios in the new normal are required. This study investigates (1) what EFL millennial English professors (MEPs) and EFL Zen students (EZSs)' attitude to hybrid learning (HL), (2) why MEPs and EZSs need HL, and (3) how the MEPs and EZSs will implement the HL in New Normal. It is a survey study using a questionnaire that resulted in ordinal and content data. 174 MEPs and EZSs from diverse universities in Indonesia participated. The data were taken through online Google Forms and were analyzed descriptively based on critical success factors and criteria content analysis. The result shows that MEPs and EZSs responded positively (51.15%), neutrally (31.61%), and negatively (17.24%) to HL in EFL classrooms. The respondents think that HL is inevitable and challenging. The ratio online and offline is on-off (75:25), on-off (50:50), and on-off (25:75). The sequence of HL covers first-half ...

This thesis explores the dimension of cooperative learning in school that I taught in Indonesia and Thailand. The class I taught, in Indonesia and in Thailand, involved a lot group work in all grades. I assumed that the group work was “cooperative learning,” at that time. I applied a lot of group because I believe that learning is a socio-cultural interaction promoting linguistics achievement. Besides, I had always faced a critical situation where my classes consisted of many students. Each classroom was about 25 to 40 students and the average class was 30 students. The group work I applied in Indonesia and Thailand left me with the following questions. Were all activities using group work matters of cooperative learning? What were the indications, nature, elements, and principles of cooperative learning in those classes? This thesis will answer the question, “How could cooperative learning work in Indonesia and Thailand to promote students’ participation?” With this theory I will j...

It is widely known that pesticides generally do not show target specificity, and off-target species are strikingly affected by these chemicals. In the current work, histological changes in skeletal muscles of zebrafish (Danio rerio) caused by fonofos, an acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor organophosphate insecticide, were examined. Zebrafish were treated with 1 mg/L, 2 mg/L and 4 mg/L of fonofos for 96 hours. Skeletal muscle samples were removed from the pectoral region and embedded in paraffin. Sections were stained with Mayer's Hematoxylin and Eosin, Gomori's Trichrome and Periodic Acid Schiff techniques. Histopathological alterations were investigated by light microscopy. Fibrosis, intramyofibrillar vacuoles, disintegrated myofibrils, splitting of myofibers, atrophic and disappeared fibers, histoarchitectural loss, necrosis and progressive decrement in glycogen content were noted. Muscle fiber diameter measurements were also performed. Statistical analysis showed that measured fiber diameters of all fonofos exposed groups were significantly different from the control group, and they decreased in a concentration-dependent manner. These results suggested that fonofos caused significant myoarchitectural impairments in non-target freshwater zebrafish.

Skeletal muscle in control samples showed normal histology, while fonofos exposure produced distinct lesions and behavioral changes in zebrafish.

The grouping model of collaborative learning in the scope of physics learning is less discussed in secondary schools. This study aims to determine the effect of gendered-grouping on the quality of collaboration in Physics Science instructional and its effect on learning outcomes. This study uses an experimental approach with a posttest-only group design model that involves two different characteristics of classes. The sampling of this study consisted of class VIII.1 consisting of 27 students (12 males and 15 females) as a homogeneous group, and class VIII.2 consisting of 31 students (14 male and 17 female) as a heterogeneous group taken by random cluster sampling. Data collection uses observation and tests to obtain quantitative data. Data analysis employed comparative statistics on collaboration level data and correlation statistics between collaboration level data and learning outcomes. The result shows that the quality of collaboration and student learning scores from homogeneous...

more
Prior studies in writing for a publication focused on the teacher-researchers in Humanize Language Teaching (HLT) journal and focused on the successful authors. This study broadened the scope out of HLT journals. The objectives; 1) how the teacher-educator authors (TEAs) perceived themselves as authors, 2) what reasons they reported their writing for and publishing, 3) what they said as the contributions of the writing for publication to their own personal and professional development (PD), and 4) how long they got their article published. 112 TEAs were involved in participating. It is a descriptive explorative qualitative with the written interview questions as an instrument. The results have shown that mostly considered as sharing authors and beginners, minority recognized as middle writers and writing articles due to obligations. Majority readers are academicians and few as TEFL consultants and practitioners. TEAs wrote articles due to promotion and hobby. Ranges of publication t...

This paper discusses a web-based instruction mixed with off-line learning in a blended EFL academic writing classes for undergraduate students. The concepts are constructed by reviewing selected and related articles based on the current trends of blended instructions with the aid of technology in education. The main ideas taken into account is how to make EFL academic writing practicality, and convenience, yet respecting norms and responsibilities of education principles. It is practical since it is flexible and can be done anywhere and anytime, yet within the consensus. Thus, the concept covers the conceptual framework of blended EFL academic learning mixed with face-to-face and web-based model as a unit of Blended EFL Academic Writing Classes. It is a theoretical description and procedural flow of face to face and web-based. This is hoped to assist any higher education educators in treating the students and contribute to the body knowledge of online learning in the era of informat...

more
Making statistical predictions requires tackling two problems: one must assign appropriate probability distributions and then one must calculate a variety of expected values. The method of maximum entropy is commonly used to address the first problem. Here we explore its use to tackle the second problem. We show how this use of maximum entropy leads to the Bogoliuvob variational principle which we generalize, apply to density functional theory, and use it to develop a mean field theory for classical fluids. Numerical calculations for Argon gas are compared with experimental data.

more
This study investigates the written test results of the Indonesian undergraduate students’ argumentative essay. For that reason, three research questions are made. 1). what is the level of achievement of the students in the argumentative essay quantitatively? 2). what aspects of an essay appear in respect to the argumentative essay generic structure as formulated? 3). how well did they use the rhetoric reputation and argument in their essay?. 27 handwriting' answer sheets of undergraduate English Department students enrolled at semester four of a state university in Indonesia were taken purposively. The data analysis uses a quantitative and qualitative approach. The results show that the students quantitatively achieved average score 76,74 which means good. All parts of generic structures were expressed in different quality. However; the organization of the essay is the lowest part compared to the other four parts respectively content, vocabulary, and language use seen from th...

more
How do opinion, discussion, and argumentative convince readers? How does each of them look different each other seen from the generic structure, and language use? This conceptual paper is exploring how three selected genres in academic writing differ from each other. By reviewing journal of related topic of recently published, the writer convinces that opinion genre is less strong in persuading readers, and argumentative is very strong in assuring readers, whereas discussion is neutral in affecting readers The implication is that each genre has its own place to make readers satisfied and each of which indicates the level of ego and sophisticated countering back the statement called rebuttal and arguments and example. By reading this article readers will detect the tone of each genre and to what extent does each genre reach the readers’ mind. The implication is that any teacher or lecturer is best recommended to present this model, particularly in EFL context.
