In our World Medical Mission partner hospitals, Christian doctors and nurses care for the physical needs of patients, and chaplains faithfully serve alongside them to share the Gospel. Samaritan’s Purse designed the Hospital Evangelism Program to resource and equip these men and women of God in the work He has called them to. This includes a year-long training course called The Heart of the Chaplain Foundations, which helps deepen the chaplain’s knowledge of the Scriptures and further prepares them to share the eternal hope of Jesus Christ. Samaritan's Purse is responding to the massive March 28 earthquake in Myanmar—the region's strongest tremor in over a century. Thousands are confirmed dead with many more injured. A Disaster Assistance Response Team is on the ground and our Emergency Field Hospital is up and running. The Emergency Field Hospital has multiple operating theaters, an emergency room, in-patient wards, a pharmacy, and a laboratory—the largest model of this scalable unit. The new cardiothoracic center at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya will be a 295,000-square-foot, 125-bed facility serving patients across East Africa and beyond. With six new operating theaters to be built, this project will increase the hospital's capacity to perform critical heart surgeries and other pressing procedures, including operations for those with cancer of the esophagus. Cambodia, one of the poorest nations in the world, has few resources available to care for its people, the majority of whom live in rural areas. We help meet desperate needs for food and livelihoods through animals and agriculture projects, as well as providing access to safe, clean drinking water. Children’s education projects ensure boys and girls remain in school, while increasing their quality of life. Our maternal and child health program reduces the mortality rates of women and their young children by improving obstetric care, teaching essential nutrition practices, and increasing access to quality healthcare. We also combat human trafficking through education and training. Only 2 percent of the country is Christian, and a crucial aspect of our work involves partnering with local churches to help spread the Gospel in their villages.

Honeybees produce more than a sweet treat for struggling families. Honey and beeswax can be sold to pay for education, healthcare, or other needs. The bees also pollinate plants, increasing fruit and vegetable yields. As our teams provide farmers with beekeeping equipment and training, we are able to lead many to Christ. “We thank God for this project, because we came to know the Gospel of salvation,” said Jose Santos, a young father in Honduras. to those projects, and we may assess up to 10 percent to be used for administering the gift. Occasionally,
