The Virginia Tech Rescue Squad (VTRS) is a 100 percent volunteer organization, operated in service to the University community 24/7, 365 days a year. We receive funding from many sources, such as Virginia Tech, the Commonwealth of Virginia, state grant programs, and generous donations from local residents and businesses.
Primarily funded through the University Student Health Fee, the Rescue Squad receives no funding from the University Education and General Fund as allocated by the Commonwealth of Virginia. As such, VTRS maintains status a University Auxiliary Enterprise; a mission-critical service of the University.
