Word of Honor (Chinese: 山河令; pinyin: Shān Hé Lìng) is a 2021 Chinese wuxia mystery streaming television series co-produced by Ciwen Media and Youku. Adapted from the popular danmei novel Faraway Wanderers (天涯客) by Priest, the drama was directed by Cheng Zhichao, Ma Huagan, and Li Hongyu, with a screenplay by Xiao Chu. It premiered exclusively on Youku from February 22 to May 5, 2021, running for 36 episodes plus one special bonus clip.
The story follows Zhou Zishu (Zhang Zhehan), the leader of the elite assassin organization Window of Heaven, who condemns himself to a life of wandering exile out of guilt for his past deeds. During his travels through the jianghu (martial arts world), he encounters Wen Kexing (Gong Jun), the enigmatic master of Ghost Valley who harbors a secret plan for vengeance. The two become entangled in the complex power struggles of the martial arts world and ultimately become each other's soulmates in a shared journey of redemption.

Cultural Impact
Word of Honor became one of the biggest danmei adaptations of 2021. The series propelled Gong Jun from relative obscurity to top-tier stardom and significantly elevated Zhang Zhehan's popularity. The dedicated fandom organized the Word of Honor Theme Concert at Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre on May 3-4, 2021, where over 600,000 fans competed for just 12,348 seats — selling out in a remarkable 14 seconds. The concert was also livestreamed online via Youku for ¥68 per day.
The series earned a prestigious spot on Teen Vogue's list of the best BL dramas of 2021. The soundtrack featured 13 original tracks performed by various artists, including the opening theme Ask Heaven (天问) by Liu Yuning and the ending theme Faraway Wanderers (天涯客) sung by the two lead actors Zhang Zhehan and Gong Jun.
