When and where are Council Meetings held?
All Town Council meetings are held at the Town of Bath Municipality Building located at 271 Wilkes Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411. The meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday’s each month at 5:30pm.
Are council meetings public?
Yes – all council and committee meetings are public! Check out our
event calendar
to see when a meeting is happening.
In the event that a meeting is cancelled or rescheduled – keep an eye out for public notices made to our Facebook page.
How can I pay a Parking Ticket or Traffic Citation?
For online payments, visit our

.  Click on the citation pay portal button, select your payment type and enter your Parking Ticket or Traffic Citation number with the amount owed.
Mail a check or money order payable to the Town of Bath, 271 Wilkes Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
For in-town convenience, come into the office at the above address Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm or after hours drop through the mail slot.
What do I need to obtain a Town of Bath municipal business license?
You must present a copy of your West Virginia State Tax Department Business Registration Certificate with the Business License application. The WV State Tax Department Business Registration Certificate can be obtained by contacting the West Virginia Department of Tax & Revenue 1‐800‐982‐8297 or by visiting their website

If you are a General Contractor or Sub-Contractor, you must present a copy of your West Virginia State Contractors License with the Business License application. This can be obtained by contacting the West Virginia State Contractors Licensing Board at 304‐558‐7890 or by visiting their website
If your business involves selling food, you must present a copy of your Morgan County Health Department Inspection Report and Health permit with the Business License application. This can be obtained by contacting the Morgan County Health Department at 304-258-1513 or by visiting their website

. Direct to consumer and religious or charitable organizations’ bake sales. Includes: Nondietary jams, jellies, and preserves, apple butter, molasses, sorghum, undiluted honey and undiluted maple syrup, dehydrated fruits and vegetables, vinegar (plain, herb or flavored), cakes, cookies, candies, fruit pies, yeast breads, nut and fruit breads, and other similar foods.
If your business involves selling alcohol, you must present a copy of your West Virginia State ABCA License with your Business License application. If your business involves childcare services (daycare), you must present a copy of your West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources permit with your Business License application. If you own a short-term rental property – For detailed directions on what is needed, please reference the Short-Term Rental Info document with the Town of Bath Ordinance 2024-03-08 for separate directions. Various examples of a short-term rental would be Airbnb, VRBO, bed and breakfast, or short-term rental homes where the stay is less than 30 consecutive days, etc. A Town of Bath Business License Application FY 2025 will need to be submitted with the application and any other documents necessary. Where do I obtain a Town of Bath municipal business license?
The Town of Bath Business License Application can be downloaded from the link below, picked up in person at the Police Department or Town Hall, or received via email or fax by calling 304-258-1198. See link:

Present the Business License application in person or by mail with all supporting documentation and payment made out to “Town of Bath” to the Town of Bath Police Department located at 271 Wilkes Street, 2nd Floor, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411. If the Business License is to be mailed to the business owner once completed, please include a self-addressed and stamped envelope with the application.
Why do I need a Town of Bath municipal business license?
A Town of Bath Business License Application will need to be obtained by every business or individual doing business in the Town of Bath per Ordinance Chapter 18-2.
How can I start water service at my property?
To start water at your location, go to the

. The
Application for Water Service
will need completed and returned to our office with a copy of a valid ID, security deposit and copy of rental agreement or proof of ownership.
How can I add my family member to the account?
To add a family member to an account you will need to fill out an amendment form and provide identification that matches the name on the account. This can be done in person or you may find a fillable version

How can I start water service at my property?
Visit the
forms section on our water page to find the Application for Water Service.
This will need completed and returned to our office with a copy of a valid ID, security deposit and copy of rental agreement or proof of ownership.

How can I have the water shut off so plumbers can do work?
We recommend using the in-home shutoff valve. However if that is not possible, or the work being done is on the shutoff valve, for the very low price of just $35 you can have one of our operators come out and shut water off at the meter, however If you should need it off for longer than 1 day it is an additional $35. In addition our operators legally have 24 hours to turn your water back on.

I cannot pay my water bill and am subject to water services being disconnected. What can I do?
Come into our office BEFORE water service has been disconnected and fill out a Promise to Pay or Deferred payment to request additional time to pay without water services being disconnected.
My water service has been disconnected for non-payment. When will it be restored?
Payment of the past due bill must be paid in full with an additional $35 Re-Connect Fee. Per the PSC, we have 24 hours to have water services restored.
