BSN Program Assessment Fee - (starts 5th semester)
Charged per semester beginning in the fourth semester of the Bachelor of Science in
Nursing (BSN) program. It provides students with Assessment Technologies Institute
(ATI) access, which includes content-specific and comprehensive NCLEX preparation
resources. It supports the assessments and tools used to evaluate student learning
and program outcomes, ensuring students are prepared for success in their nursing
careers and licensure exams.

Assessed for each lab course in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program and
provides students with skills and simulation lab supplies needed for hands-on education

This one-time fee covers the cost of the Hurst Review, a  three-day live comprehensive

This fee provides students with a one-year subscription to Trac Prac, a clinical tracking
and skills documentation system. Trac Prac allows nursing students and faculty to
manage clinical experiences in order to enhance educational experience.  Includes
digital clinical evaluation, comprehensive student progress tracking and preparation
for professional practice.

This one-time fee ensures each graduate receives a high-quality, personalized symbol
of nursing program completion. The nursing pin is a time-honored symbol of a student's

This per-semester fee supports the use of ExamSoft, a secure assessment platform that

This per-credit-hour fee is charged for courses in the Surgical Technology program.

Surgical Technology Trajecsys Course - (SUR 153A)

Surgical Technology Board Vitals - (SUR 1525) & (SUR 1546)
This one-time fee provides access to Board Vitals, a supplementary source for students
and alumni to study for the OAE (Outcomes Assessment Exam). It is the most heavily
relied on source used both in and out of didactic. Board Vitals offers comprehensive
study tools, including practice questions and detailed explanations, ensuring students
are well-prepared for success on their surgical technology certification exam.

Diagnostic Sonography Program
This per-credit-hour fee is charged only for courses within the Diagnostic Sonography
program. It supports the specialized equipment, technology, and instructional resources

Student Teacher Internship
This fee is charged per internship course and covers the cost of paying mentor teacher
stipends and travel for university supervisors to go out into the field to supervise
and assess interns and meet with mentor teachers when there are issues.  It ensures
education students receive the guidance and practical experience necessary to develop
their teaching skills and transition successfully into professional classroom roles.

Student Teacher Internship (out-of-area)
This fee is charged per internship course and supports the resources, supervision,
and administrative costs associated with student teaching internships, specifically
for when a placement for internship is outside of our normal placement area that is
a 60-mile radius of Fort Smith. Driving times must be no more than one hour in Arkansas
or Oklahoma. Candidates must get approval for placement and will be charged a minimum
or $450 to cover the additional cost of travel and supervision. This is in addition
to the Student Internship fee that covers the cost of the mentor teacher and travel.

This fee supports the administration of the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) test fee is paid directly to the College

of course material.

CLEP Written Essay - (payable to College Board)
The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) Written Essay fee is paid directly to
the College Board and covers the cost of the essay portion of select CLEP exams. This
fee is separate from the UAFS CLEP administrative fee and applies when an exam requires
a written response to assess a student’s mastery of course material. Successfully
completing the essay can help students earn college credit.

NLN Pre-Admission Exam (PAX) PN
This fee covers the cost of the National League for Nursing (NLN) Pre-Admission Exam
(PAX) for Practical Nursing (PN) program applicants. The PAX assesses a student’s

they are prepared for success in nursing coursework. Please note, this fee is separate
from other testing fees, such as the Praxis exam.

The Praxis Test fee is paid directly to the Educational Testing Service (ETS), the
