The SLO Food Bank maintains a map of
free

meals, food distributions, and pantries throughout the county. We rely upon information provided by our Hunger Relief Network, so please call ahead to verify hours and available services.

The SLO Food Bank Pantry
The SLO Food Bank pantry is now open for visitors!

Upcoming EVENTS:
WIC services are now available at our pantry at 1180 Kendall Road every third Friday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
During these visits, families can:
See if they qualify for WIC and apply on the spot
Get a new WIC card (with QR codes for farmers’ markets)
Set up and learn to use the CA WIC app
Ask their friendly bilingual nutritionist for tips during pregnancy through early childhood
What is WIC?
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) helps families during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood (up to age 5) by providing an EBT card for free healthy foods, plus nutrition and breastfeeding support and referrals to healthcare and community resources.

Neighborhood Food Distributions offer pre-packaged units of fresh produce, shelf-stable food, meat, and more, depending on availability. SLO Food Bank hosts 40 Neighborhood Food Distributions each month across SLO County. All of our Neighborhood Food Distributions are free to
income-eligible
recipients, open to the public, and located in every community countywide.

UPCOMING DISTRIBUTION CHANGES
New Nipomo High School Distribution | April 14
Beginning April 14, the SLO Food Bank will host distributions at Nipomo High School (525 N. Thompson Ave, Nipomo) on the
2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
As a result, the following Neighborhood Food Distribution locations will be moving to Nipomo High School:

Senior Home Delivery Program
In partnership with
Ride-On Transportation
, the SLO Food Bank’s Senior Home Delivery program delivers weekly groceries directly to the homes of low-income, homebound older adults throughout San Luis Obispo County.
ELIGIBILITY
Individuals may be eligible if:
They meet the
income guidelines
for the Emergency Food Assistance Program
They are aged 60 and up
They are homebound for any reason, including health and transportation restrictions and access barriers to our traditional food assistance services

of nutritious groceries including fresh produce, proteins, and pantry staples

Why do I need to sign documentation when I receive food at a Neighborhood Food Distribution?
Most of the food available at Neighborhood Food Distributions is provided by The Emergency Food Assistance Program, a program administered by the USDA. There are
Federal Income Guidelines
for recipients to self-determine if they qualify for food assistance, which are also available at distributions for participants to view. By signing your name and providing basic household information on the sign-in sheet, you are self-certifying that you meet these income guidelines. Proof of income, Identification, of proof of residency is never requested or required at Neighborhood Food Distributions. See question below for more information on privacy.
What is done with my personal information after providing it while signing in at a food distribution?
Personal information collected during the sign-in process at a Neighborhood Food Distribution is never shared and is kept only for statistics that help us understand how to serve our community better.
Do I need to pre-enroll or register to receive food at a Neighborhood Food Distribution?
No pre-registry or enrollment is required to attend any Neighborhood Food Distribution. When you arrive at the location of a Neighborhood Food Distribution, you will only have to sign in to self-certify that you have reviewed the
income guidelines
and are eligible to receive USDA food. For reference, here are copies of the sign-in sheet in

Can someone else pick food up for me?
Yes, you can have someone pick up food on your behalf at any of our Neighborhood Food Distributions. Please read and sign an Alternative Pickup Request Form (
and
Spanish
) and have the person picking up for you bring it to one of our distributions.
What type of food will I receive at a Neighborhood Food Distribution?
You will receive various fruits and vegetables and a household supply of assorted shelf-stable groceries.
Depending on availability, other food items such as protein, dairy or bread products may
be available.
What if I don’t have a kitchen or supplies to cook with?
We have options for you in the form of a no cooking required bag of food

How often can I get food at a food distribution?
Recipients are not limited to the number of distributions they can attend throughout the county. Most Neighborhood Food Distributions only occur once per month at each location.
Do I need to provide proof of income, residency or employment to receive food at a Neighborhood Food Distribution?
Proof of income, residency, employment, or personal identification is never requested at Neighborhood Food Distributions.
Does receiving food at a Neighborhood Food Distribution, pantry or meal site affect my immigration status?
Receiving food assistance is not considered under
Public Charge
determination and will not affect your immigration status.
I am homebound but I am under 60 years old. What home delivery services are available to me?
There is not currently a large-scale charitable home delivery service in SLO County for individuals under the age of 60. You can, however, have someone pick up food on your behalf at one of our Neighborhood Food Distributions by reading and signing an Alternative Pickup Request Form (

) and asking the person picking up for you to bring it to one of our distributions.
You may also consider
applying for CalFresh benefits
, which you can use in the
Instacart app
for grocery delivery. Additionally, some grocery stores offer delivery for free or with a minimum order. Check your local store’s website or app to confirm.
