We want you to know that you may be the first, but you are certainly not alone at

!  Almost 1 in 4 students at the
U of A
are first-generation students. We celebrate our first-generation students and appreciate
the strengths and varied perspectives that they offer our community.  At the same
time, we understand that you and your family might have more questions about navigating
the university atmosphere, which includes policies, jargon and specific expectations
that may seem overwhelming and intimidating. The Student Success Center has you covered.
We are here to support you from enrollment through graduation.
What is a first-generation student?
A first generation student is a college student whose parents or guardians did not
complete a 4-year college degree.

The 360 Program is an initiative of the Student Success Center that offers one-on-one
support for students’ academic transition, financial planning, social engagement,
and wellness during their time at the

ASAP
The Accelerated Student Achievement Program (ASAP) is a two-year program of peer mentoring,
professional advising, and academic support for first-generation college students
from eastern Arkansas communities.
