Li Bai (701-762), courtesy name Taibai, was one of the greatest poets of the Tang Dynasty, known as the Immortal of Poetry.
Life
Li Bai showed extraordinary talent from youth. At 25 he left Sichuan and began traveling. In 742 he was summoned to Chang'an but soon left due to his free-spirited nature. After the An Shi Rebellion he was exiled. He died in 762 in Anhui.
