Overview
The Double (墨雨云间) is a Chinese historical romance drama that premiered on June 2, 2024, on Youku. Adapted from Qian Shan Cha Ke's web novel "Marriage of Di Daughter" (嫡嫁千金), the series was produced by Yu Zheng and co-directed by Lu Haojiji, Bai Yunmo, and Ma Shige. Plot
Xue Fangfei (Wu Jinyan), the beloved daughter of a county magistrate in Huaiyuan County, lived a happy life until she chose to marry a poor scholar, Shen Yurong (Liang Yongqi). After their marriage, her husband betrayed her, orchestrated a scheme to ruin her reputation, and ultimately had her buried alive. Miraculously, she was rescued by Jiang Li (Yang Chaoyue), the daughter of the Secretariat Director.
At her savior's request, Xue Fangfei assumes Jiang Li's identity and returns to the capital. With the help of Su Xiao (Wang Xingyue), the Duke of Su, she navigates the treacherous world of court politics, methodically bringing her enemies to justice. Along the way, she finds true love and reclaims her rightful place in the world.
