Vision:
At Adler Elementary School, our vision is to create a community where all students feel loved, valued, and supported as they are encouraged to reach their full potential through rigorous and engaging learning opportunities.
Adler Elementary School is a vibrant educational institution serving over 300 students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. To begin the 2024-2025 school year, Adler proudly opens its doors in a brand-new building funded by bond dollars, enhancing both our facilities and the learning environment. While we remain at our familiar location at 19100 Filmore, Southfield, MI 48075, the transformation is remarkable. The extensive renovations include a new HVAC system providing year-round comfort, modern playground equipment, increased security with new doors and windows, updated flooring, upgraded bathrooms with enhanced features, and advanced technology integrated throughout the building. These updates, along with architectural improvements, ensure that Adler offers a safe, welcoming, and forward-thinking space where students can thrive.
Academically, Adler Elementary School is committed to providing a high-quality, well-rounded education that prepares our students for success in a rapidly evolving world. Our curriculum is designed to spark curiosity and build strong foundational skills in literacy, math, and science, while also promoting creativity and critical thinking. We emphasize STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning through hands-on activities, collaborative projects, and real-world problem solving. Additionally, we offer enrichment programs in the arts, physical education, and social-emotional learning to support the holistic development of our students.
Our dedicated teachers use data-driven instruction and differentiated teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of every learner. With smaller class sizes, enhanced technology in every classroom, and a supportive school culture, Adler ensures that each child receives personalized attention and is encouraged to reach their fullest potential. We believe in nurturing not only academic growth but also strong character, resilience, and a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

Reading Buddies
The Reading Buddies program at Adler Elementary School is a cherished initiative that pairs older students with younger ones to foster a love of reading while building meaningful relationships. Through this program, students in upper grades serve as mentors and role models, reading with and guiding their younger peers in developing literacy skills and confidence. The program not only strengthens reading fluency and comprehension but also creates a supportive, collaborative learning environment where students learn from and inspire each other. By encouraging teamwork and promoting positive connections across grade levels, Reading Buddies helps cultivate a strong sense of community and shared success within our school.
Family Math Night
Family Math Night at Adler Elementary School is an engaging and interactive event designed to bring students, families, and teachers together for an evening of fun, hands-on learning. This event showcases how math is more than just numbers; it’s a way to solve problems, think critically, and explore the world around us. Families participate in a variety of math games, activities, and challenges that are tailored to different grade levels, making learning accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Teachers are on hand to provide guidance and share strategies for supporting math learning at home. Family Math Night not only reinforces key math concepts but also strengthens the partnership between home and school, showing that when we work together, our students can achieve great success in math.
Peer Learning
At Adler Elementary, peer learning is an important part of how we build a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Recently, our second and third graders came together for a peer tutoring session focused on writing. During the session, third graders guided their second-grade peers through revising a writing piece, offering feedback and suggestions. This experience was mutually beneficial—second graders received valuable support as they practiced their newly acquired writing skills, while third graders reinforced their own knowledge through teaching and reviewing concepts. By engaging in this type of peer learning, students not only strengthen their academic skills but also build confidence, develop communication abilities, and foster a sense of community.
