The M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries is a collaborative organisation that works to improve library and information services within the M25 region and more widely across the East and South East.
The Consortium has 58 member institutions, comprising Higher Education, national, museum and other scholarly libraries. Its aim is to provide services and resources for the benefit of library staff, learners and researchers.

The M25 Consortium’s staff training and development programme provides events and visits for staff working at all levels across a range of personal and professional topics.
Access25
Our reciprocal access scheme for the benefit of postgraduate research students and staff associated with M25 member organisations.
Members' Area
The Members' Area hosts a wealth of useful information and resources, including Business Continuity (including the M25 Mutual Support Agreement), Wellbeing and Virtual Learning and Development.
Leadership Briefings
Our half-day briefings for staff in or aspiring towards leadership roles enable candid discussions on topical issues in a safe, supportive environment.
Networking Event
Our informal annual gathering for staff working at all levels within our member libraries - an opportunity to catch up with colleagues, meet new ones, and build your professional networks.
Annual Conference
Our formal annual one day conference is open to members and non-members. Conference 2026 will take place online on Tuesday 9 June 2026.

Get actively involved with the M25 community and gain valuable experience and contacts whilst helping to develop and deliver our events and programmes. Staff working at any level within an M25 member library are welcomed.
Working Groups
Our Working Groups gather evidence-based information and best practice on key topics and develop resources and support for the benefit of our members. Current groups include the Diversity Working Group and the Sustainability Working Group.

Governance
Responsibility for governance of the M25 Consortium rests with the Trustees, elected by the membership at the Consortium's AGM. The Trustees are supported by the M25 Steering Group, also elected at the AGM, who help shape the strategic direction of the Consortium and oversee the delivery of its events, programmes and other activities.
