This curated selection of 3D models is a small representation of the artifacts located in the
Special Collections Research Center
at Appalachian State University. These objects are parts of larger sets such as the Jack Guy Collection, The Cratis D. Williams archives, the Scotty and LuLu Belle Wiseman Collection, and pieces from Appalachian State’s athletic department. The models were created by members of the
Digital Scholarship and Initiatives
team using an Academia 50 handheld 3D scanner and Creaform editing software.

A hand carved cane belonging to Cratis D. Williams (1911-1985). Some of the iconography includes a representation of a jug of corn whiskey and the word folklorist. Mr. Williams’ name is also prominently carved in a wraparound text.

Scotty Wiseman's Boots

A pair of boots worn by Scott “Scotty” Wiseman (1909-1981) of the country music duo Lulu Belle and Scotty. Mr. Wiseman was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1971.
