The IOC is at a historic turning point. It is increasingly being called upon, in the context of regional integration, to lead large projects management of regional public goods (biodiversity, health, climate change ...), and to promote the specificities and needs of its insular States. The number of projects has considerably increased over the past years, partnerships have been diversified, strengthened, and a restructuring process that takes the new facts into consideration is underway in view of improving the effectiveness of actions undertaken. We must keep this momentum, strengthen it, and give, more particularly, a boost to the integration process of our countries to the regional and international economies.
