About CAV
CAV’s mission is to foster and support a community free from all forms of domestic and sexual violence.
CAV offers a 24-Hour HELPline (575) 758-9888 and 24-Hour TEXTline (575) 770-2706 for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. We provide legal and medical advocacy services, counseling and support groups, children’s programs, community prevention and outreach programs, and are able to provide information and resources for those in need.
CAV also has an on-site emergency shelter for adults and children, and offers short and long-term transitional housing programs.

CAV Thrift Store accepts tax-deductible donations of gently used household items, furniture, small appliances, books, jewelry, and clothing. Donated items go to CAV clients or are sold to help fund CAV services for survivors of domestic/sexual violence.

We want you to know that we are here, our office hours M-F 8am-5pm, and that our HELPline is available 24/7, (575) 758-9888, TEXTline: (575) 770-2706.
We are about our community and the people we serve. When individuals call wanting to speak to a counselor, a message will be given to a CAV counselor who will respond within 24 hours.
We are currently suspending our in-person group services at this time and encouraging everyone to stay healthy. There is an hour-long CAV internet-based support group over Zoom on Tuesdays at 1pm. If you are a CAV client and would like to join, call the hotline in advance and give your phone number for a counselor to call you back and go over how to join in.
Individual services and shelter are still up and running! Please reach out - we are here to help!
