to Delawareans in need, helping to ensure equal access to justice.
We assist people with low incomes, individuals with disabilities, people age 60 and older, and victims of violence and crime with a range of civil (non-criminal) legal issues.

Established in 1946, Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. (CLASI) is Delaware’s oldest and largest civil legal aid organization and is one of the oldest legal aid programs in the United States.
We are driven by a single mission: to achieve equal justice through creative and persistent civil legal advocacy that protects Delawareans’ most fundamental rights and secures access to basic needs.
Each year, we help thousands of individuals and families across Delaware obtain justice by providing free legal representation in individual cases and by working for broader change through impact litigation, community education, outreach, and legislative and policy advocacy.
Our dedicated attorneys, advocates, and staff strive to ensure that everyone has equal access to justice, regardless of their income or background.
