We’ve thought of everything to make your stay at the Sail Loft a relaxing one.
Arriving by car? There’s ample free parking right by the front door. On two wheels? You’ll find bicycle washdown facilities and secure storage for up to 25 bikes.
A warm welcome awaits from our attentive, dedicated team at the Sail Loft, who will give you all the information you need for your stay. In the reception area you’ll find a wide range of maps and leaflets to help you explore Portsoy and the surrounding area. Whether you’re looking for adventure, peaceful coastal walks or on-the-water activities, we can point you in the right direction.
Once you’re all checked in, explore our ground-floor lounge and dining area – a welcoming space where you can unwind, dine and gather with friends and family at the end of a busy day.
Our fully equipped open-plan kitchen has hobs, microwave ovens, fridges, kettles, toasters and all essentials, and utensils, including pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. Everything required for a culinary feast from breakfast to dinner time. There’s also ample seating and tables so you can dine together, whatever your group size. High chairs are also available for younger guests.
The lounge is an inviting space for slow mornings, quiet afternoons or chilled out evenings. Sink into our comfortable tub chairs and sofas with a good book or, enjoy a glass of wine by the crackle of our wood burning stove. There are lots of books, toys and games if you’re looking for some entertainment. We also have a video projector which is ideal for a family movie night, presentation or business seminar. Free WiFi is available throughout the Sail Loft and there are plenty of power sockets too.
A dedicated washing and drying area is available to make life easier and avoid the huge piles of laundry when you return home. Ironing facilities are also included.
Unlike many of the basic hostels in Scotland, we’ve got great facilities outside as well: lots of seating areas including a decked area adjacent to the kitchen, and the walled garden with BBQ facilities to enjoy on sunny days. Soothe away any stresses in our hot tub, available all year round, to be enjoyed in the sun, in the snow or at night under starry skies.
