Constructed in 2016, the Shakopee Ice Arena is available year-round for practices, games, recreational skating, lessons, camps, and tournaments by local and surrounding community organizations. It includes two sheets of ice, locker rooms and bleacher seating for 900 (Rink 1) and 335 (Rink 2). The arena is next door to the

Shakopee Community Center.

The City-operated arena is home to the

Shakopee High School boys and girls hockey teams

and the

Shakopee Youth Hockey Association

. It also offers open skating and other skate programs.

Ice Rental

The Shakopee Ice Arena sells ice time to teams, clubs, camps, and private groups at any time of the year. Ice rental is available for team practices, birthday parties, company parties, or family outings.

Open Skating

Open skating is free with a Community Center membership (must present ID) or included with the purchase of a daily pass. Skate rental daily passes are $6 Resident/ $9 Non-Resident 

Developmental Hockey Times

Developmental hockey time is a public, summer session that offers skaters an opportunity to work on their skating skills either individually or through private lessons with an instructor. Fee is $11Resident/ $16 Non-Resident

Rules:
  • All skaters (anyone taking a lesson/working on a skill) must pay before taking the ice.
  • A helmet and mouth guard are required.
