With the establishment and expansion of INSTC (International North South Transport Corridor), the importance of Caspian countries (Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Russia) has increased. INSTC is also seen as a gateway to Central Asia. It is, therefore, of utmost significance to estimate the trade potential of the aforesaid with India adopting novel methods and techniques with giving due attention to the role of INSTC. The objective of the present study is to examine the role of INSTC in the light of geographical background and in promoting Indian trade. The study also attempts to analyze past trends of Indo-Caspian trade potential. A profound gravity model is developed to estimate India-Caspian countries' recent pattern of trade potential. Population, GDP, trade, and service area of the countries' ports are taken as influencing variables in modelling the trade potential and their statistical significance is estimated using ordinary least square method. The integration of GIS based network analysis and service area modelling is performed first time for estimating trade potential as it represents the port's connectivity to the hinterland. The findings of the gravity model postulate that recent years have been full of changes where Iran has lost its dominance, and Azerbaijan has risen to capture the top position from 2015 to 2020. Steady growth has been observed in Russia and sudden growth in Azerbaijan. The present study is a standalone in which the service area of ports has been used and has a positive relation with trade.

Still, the necessities of real politics have forced India to take countermeasures towards China"s grand connectivity strategy in the framework of BRI and the Maritime Silk Road. This article assumes that China"s grand connectivity strategy has not targeted India in particular, but unavoidably it has affected India"s strategic interests in the Indian Ocean and Eurasia. In a qualitative and case study methodology, this research explains China"s grand connectivity strategy and how it affects Indian strategic interests. It also elaborates on India"s countermeasures vis-à-vis China policy. It concluded that the Chinese connectivity strategy has affected Indian strategic interests in the Indian Ocean and Eurasia. Therefore, Chabahar, Gwadar ports, and Malacca Strait are centers of gravity in these great connectivity rivalries.

Their unceasing innovation of low-cost medicines and discovery of lifesaving drugs can assist in achieving the SDG 3 (good health and well-being). Having gone through the M&A scenario in the global pharmaceutical industry and the amount disbursed on R&D, the authors tried to find answers to a few important questions to understand whether these activities are in line to achieve global goals i.e. first, does Merger and Acquisition M&A in pharmaceutical sector
increase innovations? Second, how can companies fully utilize M&A activities to increase innovation in the pharmaceutical sector? Third, is there any association between R&D expenditures and innovation outcome? We theoretically analyze and consolidate academic research on how M&A activities support innovation in the pharmaceutical industry. The present chapter also tried to unveil the association between R&D expenditures and the firm innovation as measured by the number of
patent applications by selected Indian pharmaceutical firms
