How are the two central events of Christianity (Christmas and Easter) related? How can we make sense of Jesus embodied presence among us today? In trying to articulate a response to the above questions, we first reflect on the embodied nature of Jesus. Then we explore how the disciples of Jesus embody God and Jesus in our culture. Finally, we look at some of the eschatological implications of this experience. And when Paul speaks of "the spiritual body" (1 Cor. 15:44), he is not using an oxymoron but simply referring to the eschatological reality of our bodies.

It is the festival of lights: deep means "light" and avali "a row" to become "a row of lights." Diwali is marked by four days of celebration, which literally illuminates the country with its brilliance and dazzles people with its joy. Beyond the lights, gambling, and fun, Diwali is also a time to reflect on life and make changes for the upcoming year. With that, there are a number of customs that revelers hold dear each year. Give and forgive. It is common practice that people forget and forgive the wrongs done by others during Diwali. There is an air of freedom, festivity, and friendliness everywhere. Rise and shine. Waking up during the Brahmamuhurta (about one hour before sunrise) is a great blessing from the standpoint of health, ethical discipline, efficiency in work, and spiritual advancement. The sages who instituted this Deepawali custom may have hoped that their descendants would realize its benefits and make it a regular habit in their lives.

O... more Inspired by Laudato Si ', this article takes up the sustainably of human life in today's world. Our basic assumption, which we borrow from Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie is that if we know we are going to die, we would change our life style personally and collectively. Ordinarily we try to deny death or delay thinking about it. Instead, if we can look into the face of death directly and fearlessly, we are in a much better position to be in touch with our own true self. This makes personal and societal transformation possible and necessary. In the second part of the article looks into the rise and fall of civilisations, according to Arnold Toynbee, who inspires us to see the moral and spiritual basis of civilisation. Toynbee's study also tells us that unlike individuals, society's do not necessarily have to die. Keeping in mind that if we let our civilisation die, that may be the end of human life, we proceed to understand Laudato Si which fosters life in its totality.

This helps us to live our lives based on the two principles of forgiveness and friendship, which

This article focuses both on our short-term problems and our long term ones, and proposes that a larger cosmic perspective will enable us to tackle our problems creatively and collectively. After focussing on some of the urgent and day-to-day problems, we look at some of the far ranging ones, including the possibility of wiping ourselves out of the earth: the sixth mass extinction. Then we propose that a higher consciousness or cosmic perspective can help us cope with these challenges of our times! Such a perspective, it is hoped, will make human life sustainable and earthly existence viable for all living beings.

We realise that we have, to a large extent, manage to control nature. We are also in the process of manipulating and controlling human body (Human Genome Project) and even our brain (Neuroscience). It is very ambitious enterprise, which will change the way we live and understand ourselves. In this highly complex scientific and technological world, we need to reformulate our vision and refocus on our values.
