Reading Room
How to reserve a seat in a reading room
SNU libraries have reading rooms, where students can study in an academically focused environment. If you wish to enter a reading room of Main and Kwanjeong Library, you must reserve a seat on the kiosk in front of the gate of each reading room or through
SNU Library website
or mobile app. Scan the S-Card to click the seat, which will give you 6 hours to use. To use the seat for a longer time, students can renew it on the kiosk an hour before the expiration. When you completely leave the room, you must make sure to tap the card to the kiosk to return the seat. Otherwise, you may get penalized. For computer labs inside the library, the same reservation and return system applies.
Reading Room Rules and Policies
If you reserve through the app and do not have your seat assigned at the library kiosk within 30 minutes, the reservation will be cancelled. If this happens three times, your entry to library will be blocked for 10 days.
When you leave the reading room, you must return the seat (or check out) through either the app or the kiosk. If you do not return the seat for three times, your entry to library will be blocked for 10 days.
If you get blocked for 10 times, your entry to libraries will be permanently blocked and there is no way to undo it. Therefore, please make sure to reserve and return your seat every time you use any facilities in the library.
All the branch libraries have their own reading rooms as well, which do not have a reservation requirement.
Kwanjeong library has posted its seat assignment and return policy in English on its ground floor. All users must ensure to read it thoroughly.
