makerLAB
Meet the makerLAB!
The makerLAB is Longwood Public Library’s makerspace—a place for creativity, experimentation, and hands-on learning. Whether you are interested in designing custom items, learning new technologies, or exploring artistic projects, the space offers tools and guidance to help bring your ideas to life.
During DIY sessions, you can reserve time to use the equipment and work independently on your own projects. If you would like more guidance, we encourage you to register for one of our makerLAB programs, where staff provide step-by-step instruction and support as you learn new skills.
The makerLAB is equipped with:
Four 3D printers
Sewing machines
An embroidery machine
Button makers
Inkjet printer
Sublimation printer
Cricut Makers
Cricut Mug Presses
Two Cricut Auto Presses
MacBooks for designing makerLAB projects
You may make an appointment to use the equipment and bring your own materials, or purchase a makerLAB Kit that includes all the materials needed to complete a project.
DIY @ makerLAB: Make a makerLAB Appointment
Space is limited to Longwood Public Library cardholders, appointments are required, and can be made up to 14 days in advance.
Longwood Library cardholders can either reserve a specific piece of equipment and bring their own materials or purchase a makerLAB Kit at the makerLAB. DIY @ makerLAB is a self-guided experience. A staff member is here to assist with questions but for more in-depth training, patrons can take one of our makerLAB classes.
Make an appointment online here.
Additional makerLAB Equipment
If your project requires, the makerLAB has a Cricut Autopress, a Cricut Mug Press, and a HTVRONT Tumbler Press. You and other makers will have shared access to this equipment as part of your appointment.
