Summary
Dr. Marc Triola is a Professor of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he serves as the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education and the Founding Director of the Institute for Innovations in Medical Education (IIME).
Renowned nationally in medical education, Dr. Triola specializes in educational informatics and precision education. His research focuses on leveraging technology to enhance medical training, particularly through the use of data and artificial intelligence to personalize learning and assess educational impact via clinical outcomes.
Dr. Triola has an extensive publication record in medical education and has authored books on biostatistics. He is a member of the AAMC Board of Directors and holds leadership positions in several national professional organizations related to medical education and informatics. His laboratory has received funding from the AMA, the Macy Foundation, the Stemmler Fund, and the NIH to develop and evaluate AI tools for personalized medical education and AI-driven educational interventions.
Dr. Triola earned his MD from NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at NYU, serving as chief resident, and pursued a research fellowship in medical informatics through a combined program of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, the NYU Courant Institute, and Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
In previous roles at NYU Langone, Dr. Triola served as Director of Research for Advanced Educational Systems; Founding Chief of the Section of Medical Informatics within the Division of General Internal Medicine; Founding Director of the Division of Educational Informatics; and Associate Dean for Educational Informatics.
