Biography
Margaret "Meg" Butler, associate director for public services, teaches Legal Bibliography after joining the college in 2010. Additionally, she offers legal reference services and training for law school community members on legal research and resources.
Prior to joining Georgia State University, Butler worked as an international law reference librarian and professor of legal research at New York Law School, where she taught research courses addressing international and intellectual property research issues.  Before receiving her M.L.S., Butler earned her license and practiced law in Minnesota, concentrating in guardianship and conservatorship.
Butler also has worked as an attorney editor and an author at a major legal publishing company. She has an M.S. in education and worked as a teacher. Butler is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries, serving as the Section on Social Responsibilities vice-chair/chair elect; the Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries; Atlanta Law Libraries Association; and the American Society of International Law.
