How We Help
The Warming Place is more than a shelter — it is a lifeline. Each winter, we open our doors nightly to provide a safe, warm, and welcoming space for people with nowhere else to go. Guests find not only shelter but practical support and a caring community. Together, these services restore dignity, support health, and remind every guest that they are not alone. Our services include:
Warm Meals & Essentials:
Nutritious dinners, gift cards for food, and access to essentials like winter coats, hats, gloves, and socks.
Health & Hygiene Support:
Showers, laundry cards, toiletries, and other supplies to help guests maintain dignity and well-being.
Compassionate Care:
A dedicated team, many with healthcare backgrounds, trained in CPR, first aid, and skills from the Homeless Training Institute.
Connection & Stability:
A consistent, supportive environment where guests know they are seen, valued, and part of the community.

testimonials
From the Community
- Efren Peralta, Guest
“I thank Jesus for The Warming Place. When I lost my job and housing, I did not know what to do, but The Warming Place gave me a safe bed, food, and people who cared. When they learned I was a pastry chef, they helped me apply for a new job. Because of them, I have work again and a home.”
- Shirin Mahjoory, Volunteer
“People do not see that homelessness exists on Nantucket, but it is here. The Warming Place taught me that it can happen to anyone.”
