If you want to be an OSU Beaver and dual-enroll with LBCC, you will fill out a single
application that will simultaneously admit you to OSU and LBCC.
To find out if you are eligible to apply, read the
OSU admissions requirements
. If it turns out that you are not yet eligible, it's easy to get started at LBCC
and then apply to DPP after completing:
24 graded transferable credits
WR 121Z with a grade of C or higher
MTH 105Z or MTH 111Z with a grade of C or better
Earning a minimum GPA of 2.25

This application will require the regular OSU application fee (currently $75). See
OSU's undergraduate admission deadlines
for more information.

Choose which school will be awarding your financial aid.
We call this the “home school.” There are several things to consider with this decision,
and you can check out
OSU's Degree Partnership Financial Aid
for more information.
How it works
. Once you have a home school, our financial aid offices will share information on
how many credits you are registered for at each school. Your aid package will be based
on your total credits.
Paying your bill.
Our billing systems are not connected, so remember to pay your bill at whichever school
is not your home school (if applicable). You might have a refund from financial aid
at your home school, which you can then use to pay your bill at the other school.
FAFSA.
Make sure that your home school is listed on your
FAFSA
. If you need to edit your FAFSA to add it, that’s no problem! OSU’s school code is
003210, and LBCC’s is 006938.
Key points to keep in mind:
It’s possible to change your home school before each term, but it’s best to choose
it once in the fall and leave it. You will have to be re-awarded an aid package each
time you change it. If you need to change your home school, send an email to both
LBCC and OSU with this request:
LBCC Financial Advisor:
Email
pickenm@linnbenton.edu
(include your X number).
OSU Financial Aid:
Email
dpp@oregonstate.edu
(include your OSU 9-number).
You need to take at least one credit per term at your home school.
If you’re starting in on your 300- or 400-level courses at OSU, then you must choose
OSU as your home school because LBCC cannot award aid for upper-division course work.
If you are a DPP student and plan on taking classes at OSU
for the first time
, you will be required to attend an OSU orientation. Throughout the summer, there
will be both first year and transfer Launch sessions for students beginning at OSU
in the fall. Between terms, there are also orientation sessions available if you are
planning to start winter or spring term at OSU. Check out
OSU's New Student Programs
for more information and the schedule of sessions.
At orientation, you will learn about valuable resources available to you at OSU, receive
academic advising, and register for OSU classes. LBCC's staff will also be available
to assist you in registering for LBCC classes and answering questions.
If you are planning to take all of your courses at LBCC for your first term, you are
still encouraged to attend OSU's orientation. It's a good opportunity to connect with
your OSU advisor and learn more about your major. However, you are welcome to participate
in LBCC's new student session if you'd prefer. As part of LBCC's new student session,
our staff will help you register for courses. Please email us (see above) with your
name and LBCC ID number to request signing up for an LBCC new student session.
Featured Question
How do I register for an LBCC class when I took the pre-requisite at OSU?
Fill out the
DPP Override Request Form
OSU-Bound Students
The short answer is - as soon as you are eligible.
This way, if OSU's programs change some of their requirements, you will not have to
retake classes. As a DPP student, you are an OSU student and will earn catalog rights
once you have been admitted into OSU.
At the very latest, you should apply for DPP about a month prior to the start of the
term you'd like to begin taking classes at OSU.
College Transcripts:
When applying to OSU, request your college transcripts to be sent to OSU for all of
your college coursework. All official transcripts need to come directly from the school
that awarded the credits (regardless if LBCC has received/evaluated them). LBCC
will not automatically send transcripts to OSU for the application process; they need
to be requested.
High School Transcripts:
If you completed the foreign language requirement by taking two years of foreign language
in high school, you will need to have your official high school transcripts sent to
OSU as well.
OSU evaluates all DPP applications. For transfer students, OSU is looking at the following
criteria:
Completed 24 transferable, college-level credits
Completed WR 121Z with a grade of C or better
Completed MTH 105Z or MTH 111Z with a grade of C or better*
Earn a GPA of 2.25 or higher
*While completion of college-level math is strongly recommended, transfer students
may be admitted to OSU without math if they have met all other requirements with at
least a 2.50+ transfer GPA. Once admitted to Degree Partnership, a college-level math
course must be completed within the first 45 credits.
As a current LBCC student transitioning to OSU, you will not be required to take additional
placement tests.
OSU will notify students of admission once they have evaluated all transcripts. This
can take four to six weeks. Keep an eye out on the email used to set up the application.
If OSU feels your application is incomplete (for example, they have not received official
transcripts from a school), they will send you an email requesting the required information.
All OSU students are required to pay this fee the first term they enroll in classes
at OSU.
Fee payment information can be found on

OSU's Academic Calendar
You must sign up to attend an orientation session prior to the term that you are planning
on taking classes at OSU. During the summer, there are several START orientation sessions
for transfer students. Between terms, there will be at least one session as well.
During the orientation, you will learn about transitional resources at OSU, meet with
an OSU advisor, and receive a PIN which will be required to register for any OSU classes.

See your LBCC advisor regularly! Meeting with an OSU advisor at our office is another
great way to be reassured that you are on-track (view the advising calendar on our
home page). We also have some transfer guides that can be used as an additional reference,
although there is no substitute for meeting with your advisor.
Current OSU Students
Currently enrolled OSU students and new students planning to attend a START session
at OSU are not required to attend an LBCC orientation. We do, however, have different
policies and systems than at OSU, and it is important for you to be familiar with
these.
Once your account is set up, you will receive an email with your LBCC ID number and
a claim code to create your single sign-on password in
WebRunner
. In WebRunner, under the "Student" tab, you'll see the "Registration" link where
you can register for classes.
Although the credits you're taking at both schools are added together to show your
full credit load, our billing systems are not connected. OSU will not send LBCC money
directly. It is your responsibility to pay your bill at LBCC.
LBCC offers multiple ways to pay
You can re-take a class that you failed, and when you pass that class at LBCC, it
can meet graduation or program requirements at OSU. However, you cannot replace the
grade you got at OSU with the grade you got at LBCC (or vice verse). Grade replacements
can only happen within the same institution. Generally, we tell students to re-take
the class they failed at the institution they originally took the class.
Although all classes are different, the short answer is no. When a class counts at
both institutions, it's because both schools have reviewed the class and found that
it leads to students reaching the same learning outcomes. Classes at LBCC are often
smaller, which means that you have more instructor interaction, and the instructor
can assign more grading-intensive projects. This means that classes at LBCC are just
as hard, if not harder, than the same class at OSU.
