Advanced Energy Research & Technology Center (AERTC)
The Advanced Energy Center is a true partnership of Academic institutions, Research
institutions, Energy providers and Industrial Corporations. Its mission is innovative
energy research, education and technology deployment with a focus on efficiency, conservation,
renewable energy, and nanotechnology applications for new and novel sources of energy.

Center for Grid Innovation Development and Deployment (GrIDD)
The
Center for Grid Innovation Development and Deployment (GrIDD) enhances the development
and integration of cutting-edge technologies into electric energy systems, working
with industry partners and leveraging the technical and intellectual assets of Stony
Brook University and Brookhaven National Laboratory. GrIDD is one of two Centers of
Advanced Technology (CATs) hosted at Stony Brook University and one of the 15 CATs
funded through the Empire State Development's Division of Science, Technology and
Innovation (NYSTAR) designed to encourage greater collaboration between private industry
and universities in the development and application of new technologies.

Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI)
The Long Island High Technology Incubator is a non-profit business incubator that
supports and stabilizes early-stage, high-risk, high-tech businesses to enhance their
opportunity for development and growth. We are dedicated to helping new technologically-innovative
companies to mature by providing them with a variety of support resources and services.
In addition to its beautiful setting, LIHTI’s location on the Stony Brook University
campus enables the transfer of ideas from the University to the private sector. The
companies that develop and grow as a result of being a part of the Incubator create
jobs and expand the tax base on Long Island and in New York State. In its 16 years
of operation, the incubator has housed over 70 companies, which have had a high survival
rate upon graduating from the program.

Long Island Manufacturing Extension Partnership (LIMEP)
The Long Island Manufacturing Extension Partnership is
Empire State Development's Regional Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) center.
LIMEP is one of the ten centers within the NIST NY-MEP program, with FuzeHub being
the state-wide MEP center. The Center is designed to assist small to medium-sized
manufacturing companies develop business growth and increase competitiveness through
training, workforce development, and/or revitalization/renewal of their product lines
all while supporting our region's priority industry cluster: biotechnology. LIMEP
also engages with larger companies to support their supply chain companies which fall
in the small and mid-sized company category.

Small Business Development Center
One of twenty-three campus-based regional Small Business Development Centers within
New
York State, the SBDC at Stony Brook brings together the resources of the University,
the private
sector and government at all levels to assist entrepreneurs, business and industry
in the solution of their problems, leading to increased productivity and profitability.

Empire State Development's Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR)
New York State offers resources designed to enable new and existing businesses to
become more competitive through the use of innovative technologies. Empire State Development's
Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR) programs and centers emphasize
the importance of working with industry as a way to leverage New York State’s technology
strengths to produce new products. The state also offers other innovation development
support resources, including financial incentives, to foster university collaboration,
research and innovation.
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)
NYSERDA offers objective information and analysis, innovative programs, technical
expertise, and support to help New Yorkers increase energy efficiency, save money,
use renewable energy, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. A public benefit corporation,
NYSERDA has been advancing energy solutions and working to protect the environment
since 1975.
