AAR has been a member since 1979.
International Association for the History of Religions
AAR has been a member since 2010. All AAR members are automatically IAHR members.
National Humanities Alliance
AAR has been a member since 1983 and an annual sponsor of Humanities Advocacy Day since 2001.

AAR is an Affiliate Organization of Emory University; the AAR and the SBL jointly own the Luce Center on Emory's campus.
Society of Biblical Literature (SBL)
AAR and SBL hold concurrent Annual Meetings and are co-owners of the Luce Center.

The American Academy of Religion welcomes opportunities to cooperate with organizations that have similar missions to its own, which is to foster excellence in the academic study of religion and enhance the public understanding of religion.
