Our History
Our team consists of dedicated and qualified skatepark designers and builders working side by side with ASTM and Recreation and Parks. Now that over 3500 skateparks have been built in the USA we also work with recreation and parks as well as private parks to provide programming for camps, afterschool and coaching. Photo: spohn ranch

In 1996 Heidi Lemmon and Tim started working together and recruited other skatepark designers and builders to jump start the movement. The first step was to get cities to support public skateparks and get them insured.  This was done by exhibiting at many recreation and parks trade shows and working with risk management companies.  Our goal was well designed concrete parks and we worked with a group of dedicated designers and ASTM International to develop construction standards. We do not want design standards or "standardized" skateparks. Skateparks should be fashioned after  golf courses or ski resorts with each one designed to favor the local talent and users. Around 2010 we started to turn the corner and most cities want to build quality concrete parks. The inclusion of  skateboarding in the Olympics in 2020 will further fuel the need for well designed and built skateparks.
