Boilerplate Request for Permissions
The text below is a template for requesting specific permissions on a wiki. Please copy it and complete the three required points, plus other salient information.
===== Project name ===== I request sysop access on ''ps.wikipedia'': *'''Language Code:''' ps *'''Local Request Link:''' [[ps:Project:wikipedia]] *'''Local User Page:''' [[ps:User:waliachakzai]] Thank you. ~~~~
Notes:
- Be sure to complete the information as requested. Without it, a steward cannot process the request.
- Please add the request here after the community approval.
- Be aware that local request page (RfA) may not be the same with the administrators page.
Please place your request at the end of the appropriate section below, and state in the heading which project you are referring to. All requests for permissions are subject to approval by the local community, and any unauthorised permissions will be revoked upon complaint.
Please remember to inform your community of your request. A steward will notify you when the request is processed.
Bewareof sockpuppetters and imposters, always ask for a confirmation edit on the destination wiki.
Note to Stewards: When you give someone Oversight, please list them on Hiding revisions. Thanks.
Note to those requesting Oversight: Do not request Oversight rights here; this is where the Arbitration Committee makes usergroup membership requests once they have agreed to give someone Oversight access. Thanks.
Note to Stewards: when someone ask a CheckUser status, please check the current policy of attribution of status before giving this status. When you give someone CheckUser, please list them on CheckUser. Thanks.
According to policy, there is no TEMPORARY status of checkuser. Either there are already checkuser on a project and these people must be asked to do the checkuser. Or there is nobody and a steward must do it. Giving a temporary status to anyone just simply asking it to a steward, with no agreement from the local community is against the checkuser status rules. Giving it with no request mentioned anywhere is even more problematic. Breaching these rules should imply removing the status of the steward if he can not be trusted to follow commonly accepted rules. If any one has a problem with this rule and wish that from now on, checkuser status be given to anyone without any community discussion, he must have the current rules changed, not breach them. Thanks Anthere 03:24, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Note: When giving someone checkuser, please (a) ask them to subscribe to checkuser-l and (b) email checkuser-l-owner@wikipedia.org so that the listadmins know the person is allowed on the mailing list. (The list may contain confidential information.) - David Gerard 15:22, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Any request made in a different paragraph than this one should not be considered.

I am here to request check-user permissions for wikibooks:User:Derbeth. He has received 26 votes from people in our community since the start of the vote. He is also an active and exemplary vandal fighter, with whom our project has had no problems. We were trying to start a vote to find a second user worthy of check-user permissions, but agreeing on a good second candidate is a slow process (but we can all agree on wikibooks:User:Derbeth). We would like this user to gain the permissions ASAP, because we have had an influx of suspected sockpuppetry, especially on our VfD votes.
Thanks. --Whiteknight 16:48, 15 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wait 2 weeks and then ask it here again and include the link to that page where you asked it. --Walter 11:34, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- Well there are more than 2 regular editors and I can name at least one Wikipedia with even less of a community and a bureaucrat so I am not quite sure what you mean. Perhaps you can point me to the policy that states the minimum size required or something because the only criterion I can find is the one that states "If your wiki does not have any bureaucrats, you can make your application at requests for permissions" on the bureaucrat page and the Scots Wikipedia certainly meets the "has no bureaucrats" criterion. -- Derek Ross 05:47, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- I am a bit suspicious some of the voters there. None of them have userpages, and none of them have had any activity at all since voting (some of them had activity before voting, and some didn't). Neither of the bureaucrat candidates have userpages either. I think they are a bit too fresh to become bureaucrats at this point. Jon Harald Søby 12:42, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, I'm afraid you're quite wrong there. The bureaucrat candidates are native speakers of Kapampangan. One of them pam:User:Katimawan2005 was the one who submitted the original proposal for the Kapampangan language Wikipedia in the first place. pam:User:Val2397 has also been active in the project. Where is it in the guidelines that candidates for bureaucrats have to have userpages? If there are more acceptable candidates for bureaucrats, why not nominate them since they can be nominated? Moreover, this is actually the third, if not the fourth time that requests for either sysops or bureaucrat rights for these same users have been filed since the creation of the Kapampangan language Wikipedia (this project was created in July 2005) and for some reason the stewards here in Meta have been changing the rules and denying the requests based on one technicality or another and prematurely archiving the requests.--Harvzsf 04:06, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of access
Self-de-adminship can be requested here, and will be granted immediately. You may be asked to prove you are the same user on meta as on your local wiki first, by putting information on your talk page on your local wiki, that you're requesting de-adminship.
To request the removal of sysop access from another user, please gain consensus on this on your own wiki first. All discussion must be kept on your local wiki. When it is finished and there is a community consensus to desysop a user, a trusted person from that wiki should just provide a link here to the discussion and a very brief explanation of what the results of that were.
- Please do not open discussions here about rights.

Some time ago, a bot in Serbian wikipedia (which was actually a man-handled account - sr:User:Сликобрисач) was given the sysop status so that he could delete unneeded images manually without clogging recent changes. When the project of deleting the images was finished, the guy who manually operated the bot (sr:User:Јованвб), a bureaucrat of ours, blocked the bot, because it became useless. Now, since the bot isn't doing anything anymore, we'd like to revoke its admin status (the guy unblocked the bot so that he could confirm that this is a valid request).
