The Office of Academic & Student Affairs embraces diversity and inclusion as fundamental to our community
We are committed to doing so by:
Treating all persons with dignity and respect;
Supporting student academic, personal, and community needs;
Providing and connecting students to appropriate services and resources;
Working collaboratively with faculty and staff to elevate the student experience.
Student affairs staff are engaged with all aspects of the student experience and assist incoming and continuing students with a range of services to meet their particular needs. The office focuses on orientation, student activities/student life, academic advisement, student wellness and support, and academic accommodations and programming to foster a positive artistic, scholarly, and social community. We understand that being a graduate student can pose varying difficulties and advise any student struggling with the pressures of the MFA program to reach out for help or guidance. Asst Dean Taryn Wolf is your first line of contact for emergent concerns and can be reached anytime, day or night via phone.
The staff above also convene the Student Representatives organization to support student-led initiatives and provide assistance as you navigate life/academic challenges as a graduate student. Contact them to connect with university resource centers and campus programs.
