Description
Background
After introducing typeahead search, we also introduced an extra tap to the search bar to begin a search
Steps to reproduce
Go to the mobile website on any wiki where typeahead search has been rolled out on mobile device , preferably ios
Tap on the search icon
Expected: you can type directly into the field
Observed: an extra tap is needed
Requirement
Eliminate the extra tap required to activate the search input field in the Minerva skin after the introduction of typeahead search.
BDD
Feature: Streamlined search activation on mobile Minerva
Scenario: User initiates search on mobile Minerva skin
Given I am on the mobile site using the Minerva skin
When I tap on the search icon
Then the search input field is immediately focused and ready for typing
Test Steps
Test Case 1: Search field is focused after first tap on Minerva
Visit any wiki on a mobile device where typeahead search is enabled (e.g., testwiki)
Ensure you are using the Minerva skin
Tap the search icon in the header
