Remove Swedish Wikinews

[edit]

Please remove the Swedish Wikinews from the wikis that receive massmessages. This Wiki is inactive since August 2013 and it have ended up in just clustering wn:Pressrummet. // Kakan spelar (talk) 16:37, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Now done, I think. Removed from Distribution list/Global message delivery/sv, Distribution list/Global message delivery/Wikinews, Distribution list/Non-Technical Village Pumps distribution list, and Distribution list. HTH. Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 18:19, 23 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Tagalog Wiktionary Announcements

[edit]

Currently, mass messages are forwarded to wikt:tl:Wiktionary:Kapihan, can it be moved somewhere instead? I can create a page if wanted. Ysrael214 (talk) 14:53, 23 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Ysrael214. Yes, you/that wiki's community can choose where announcements are sent. Please do help out, by editing the target list(s) directly, so that they use the location you want!
It's a bit complicated because it's all a crowd-sourced-effort, and the listings are used for a wide variety of types of announcement (some very important for local folks to see, and some less important or just of interest to a specific group/role/etc), and so there isn't a formally maintained (nor forced) complete listing, but instead there's a bunch of individually maintained listings.
TLDR: if you check each of these pages - search for Kapihan prefix:"Distribution list" - and update each of them as desired, that should cover most of it. For any messages that still arrive at the old location, you'll need to check the wikitext-source to see which distribution-list was used (it's always mentioned in a hidden comment at the end of the post). I hope that info helps. Quiddity (WMF) (talk) 18:14, 23 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Test wiki subscriptions

[edit]

Should test wikis (on the Incubator, Beta Wikiversity or Old Wikisource) be allowed to subscribe to mass messages? Currently most of them have little to no activity, and the messages are pretty much the only thing happening there. (Examples: [1] [2] [3]). And they're not even getting translations. I feel like those places should only be able to receive messages at the central discussion pages. The test wikis can get subscriptions of their own once they're imported to standalone projects. Since nobody bothered to discuss the issue, I took it upon myself to unsubscribe test wikis. AtUkr(talk to me) 22:58, 25 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Concerning that there is no -bot suffix

[edit]

MediaWiki message delivery does not have a -bot suffix, which is needed for Bot accounts. Average Mobile User (talk) 04:39, 31 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Templates

[edit]

In messages written in other languages, please do not use templates, because they may not exist in other languages and you are calling a template that doesn't exist, as I deleted here. Thanks. Vanbasten 23 (talk) 16:43, 12 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
