Welcome to the Tennessee Immunization Information System (TennIIS)
About TennIIS
TennIIS is a statewide immunization information system (IIS) managed by the Tennessee
Department of Health. TennIIS is a free, secure, and easy-to-use online registry of vaccinations
received by Tennessee residents.
TennIIS can be utilized by healthcare providers, pharmacists, schools, and childcare administration
to access and update vaccination records. Through TennIIS, authorized users can access the
Immunization Certificate Validation Tool (ICVT) to print validated Official Immunization Certificates
for children in Tennessee.
TennIIS can also be used to retrieve Patient Immunization Record Reports, Reminder/Recall Reports,
Coverage Rate Reports, and Immunization Forecasting Reports.
For eligible professionals and hospitals, participation in Electronic Data Exchange with TennIIS is a
valid public health reporting measure under the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
(CMS) electronic health record incentive programs. These programs include Meaningful Use (MU)
and Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).
TennIIS also hosts the online Vaccine Ordering Management System (VOMS) for the federal Vaccines
for Children (VFC) Program.

Electronic Data Exchange and Promoting Interoperability
What is Electronic Data Exchange?
Any practice that administers vaccinations can exchange data electronically between its Electronic
Health Record (EHR) system and TennIIS. Electronic data exchange is an efficient way to add or
retrieve vaccination records in TennIIS, and can eliminate the need for entering data separately into
both TennIIS and the EHR.
For questions about your EHR connection to TennIIS, onboarding as an electronic Trading Partner, or general questions about Interoperability, please contact
