Installing the plugin is easy. Just follow one of the following methods:
Install The Events Calendar from within WordPress
Visit the plugins page within your dashboard and select ‘Add New’
Search for “Events Calendar”
Activate The Events Calendar from your Plugins page
You’re done!
Install The Events Calendar Manually
From the dashboard of your site, navigate to Plugins –> Add New.
Select the Upload option and hit “Choose File.”
When the popup appears select the the-events-calendar-x.x.zip file from your desktop. (The ‘x.x’ will change depending on the current version number).
Follow the on-screen instructions and wait as the upload completes.
When it’s finished, activate the plugin via the prompt. A message will show confirming activation was successful. A link to access the calendar directly on the frontend will be presented here as well.
That’s it! Just configure your settings as you see fit, and you’re on your way to creating events in style. Need help getting things started? Check out our

Are there any troubleshooting steps you’d suggest I try that might resolve my issue before I post a new thread?
First, make sure that you’re running the latest version of The Events Calendar. If you’re running Events Calendar PRO or any other add-ons, make sure those are current / running the latest code as well.
The most common issues we see are either plugin or theme conflicts. You can test if a plugin or theme is conflicting by manually deactivating other plugins until just The Events Calendar is running on your site. If the issue persists from there, revert to the default

theme. If the issue is resolved after deactivating a specific plugin or your theme, you’ll know that is the source of the conflict.
Note that we aren’t going to say “tough luck” if you identify a plugin/theme conflict. While we can’t guarantee 100% integration with any plugin or theme out there, we will do our best (and reach out the plugin/theme author as needed) to figure out a solution that benefits everyone.

How do I sell tickets to events on my calendar?
You’ll want to use our

Can I have more than one calendar on my site?
Unfortunately, no. However, you can use
event categories

Can I allow people to submit events to my calendar?
This is available with the

add-on to facilitate submissions. Install Community Events alongside The Events Calendar and a page will be added to your WordPress site with a form that visitors can use to submit events. As the calendar owner, you have full control over whether event submissions are published immediately or require moderation first.

I had been working on the Maps integration for a couple months, with no luck. I reached out to customer service and Anthony replied and, not only offered his help, but partnered with me to make sure the WP Events Calendar was working the way I had hoped. He followed through after the problem was resolved to check in and make sure eveything was running smoothly. His kindness, knowledge and support should be used as a model. Thank you for your help.
I just want to create a simple list of events. not a map full desciption, and load of other formatting. Bring back gigpress, it was so much easier. Not recommended.
A technical question, a quick answer that solves the problem.
I had an issue with the event google map and TEC support logged in to fix it. Overall very happy with The Event Cal and highly recommend it.
First off, when I enabled the Event Manager it commandeered an Events page I already had content in and that all disappeared and was replaced by a calendar widget.

Next off, I tried adding an event and, in the description, I needed to add a shortcode form I have for charitable donation. This was a no-go. Evidently, the description box for an Event is basic HTML and there’s a convoluted back-door process of accessing a shortcode form with PHP, but no easy way to do it. None of the normal WP rules for managing content apply.

I searched around for a solution but couldn’t find one. I will need to disable the plugin and reconstruct my prior WP based event page.
We use TEC to publish our scheduled appearances on our website. TEC supports this perfectly, with just the right amount of features and integrations. The intuitive setup makes it child’s play to configure and use. And when I have a problem, support steps up with amazing speed, friendlyness, and accuracy.
