Complimentary Before-School Program
Our complimentary before-school program is available for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade and is provided each day that classes meet from 7:15 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. The before-school program is supervised by an ACDS staff member, and is included in the cost of tuition. Registration is
not
required for the before-school program.

The Orchard
Our Extended Day program is provided each day that classes meet for children in Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade from dismissal to 5:30 p.m. for a fee.
Priority.
Students needing after-school care five days a week are given priority for The Orchard enrollment. Drop in care is offered on a space available basis. Please call the front office for availability at (408) 997-0424.
The Orchard Program Description
Adding Days.
An additional fee will be charged when your child attends The Orchard for more days than is paid for in the annual fee. Please refer to our drop-in rates below. We will do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.
Payment.
The fee for drop-in care will be charged at the time of registration. For cancellations, a cancellation fee up to 10% may apply.
Late Pick-Up Fees.
If your child has not been picked up from school within 15 minutes of regular school day dismissal, (i.e., by 3:15 p.m.) they will automatically be sent to extended care and fees will be applied to their billing ledger.
The Orchard program ends at 5:30 p.m. Late fees begin accruing at the end of your child’s extended day session at 5:31 p.m. Any child who is picked up after 5:31 p.m. will be charged a late fee based on the following schedule:
0-15 minutes late: $25
16-30 minutes late: An additional $50 will apply
31-45 minutes late: An additional $75 will apply
(For example, if you are 25 minutes late, you will be charged $25 for the first 15 minutes, plus an additional $50 for the next 10 minutes, totaling $75.) Late pick-up fees will be added to the billing ledger for your student.
Drop-In Rates.
$50 per session or $20 per hour. Drop-in fees are not pro-rated. For example, the fee is $20 for 1 hour or any part of an hour (e.g. the fee would equal $40 for 1 hour and 10 minutes).
Availability.
Drop-In Care is only available if we have space in the program.

Tuition Payment Options
Almaden Country Day School requires that Basic Tuition be paid in one of two ways:
Option 1
– Single Annual Payment. Basic tuition paid in full by June 15. Non-refundable tuition deposit due at time of enrollment/re-enrollment. There is a discount for single annual payment. The discount for a payment-in-full is $400 for all full-day programs. The discount for the half-day Pre-Kindergarten program is $275. Please contact the
Business Office
if you have questions.
Option 2
– Monthly AutoPay. If you wish to pay basic tuition on a monthly basis, you will need to authorize the school to electronically withdraw funds from your bank account starting in June and running through May. Tuition is drawn over 11 months with the February draw devoted to the non-refundable tuition deposit. For students enrolled after June 20, payments will be divided equally for the remaining months through May, except for the month of February which is devoted to the non-refundable tuition deposit payment. For students who begin at ACDS after the first day of school, payments will be prorated based on start date and divided by the remaining months through May.

Additional Information
Priority Re-Enrollment
During the annual re-enrollment window, current families have the opportunity to re-enroll their student(s) before the school offers admission to prospective students. To complete re-enrollment and reserve a spot for the following school year, the online contract must be completed, and the non-refundable tuition deposit must be paid via online payment available in the re-enrollment contract. Payment by check is also available. Current families will also be able to let the Advancement Office know if they do not plan to return the following year.
New Enrollments
Upon confirmation of acceptance to the school, the non-refundable tuition deposit for each student is due within one week.
Tuition Insurance
A Tuition Refund Plan administered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. is available to families during the enrollment process. The program provides tuition refund insurance to protect the student’s annual financial obligation under the terms of the ACDS Enrollment Contract. This program insures fees (prepaid and due) in the event of separation according to the terms of the policy. More details about the program are included in the Enrollment Contract.
Withdrawal
During the re-enrollment process, if we receive a “Request for Records” from another school we will assume your child no longer intends to enroll and his/her space will be forfeited. Families who withdraw after school has begun should contact the Admissions Office for more information. If a withdrawal is initiated by the School, ACDS will prorate the remaining tuition balance, minus the non-refundable tuition deposit. If the withdrawal is initiated by the family, no refunds will be issued.
Termination
Students and parents attending Almaden Country Day School are expected to understand and abide by the principles and policies outlined in the Parent Handbook (available on the website under Parent's Corner). Failure to do so may result in termination from school at the sole discretion of the Head of School. Services may be terminated if it is determined through observations and parent meetings that Almaden Country Day School does not meet the needs of your child.
Almaden Country Day School is a nonprofit organization funded by tuition and charitable contributions. All fees are subject to change.
