All right. Let me make sure
[00:00:04.180]
there's nobody else trying to
[00:00:07.350]
get in here. Sorry, my Zoom
[00:00:10.600]
menu is
[00:00:10.980]
hidden and I can't. It's not
[00:00:16.810]
one to open. Okay. Here we go.
[00:00:22.530]
All right. Quick introduction.
[00:00:29.070]
My
[00:00:29.500]
name is Aaron Coleman. I'm in
[00:00:31.540]
the Digital Experience Group in
[00:00:33.240]
University of Communication.
[00:00:35.320]
We're going to go through a
[00:00:38.140]
quick training on UNL CMS,
[00:00:41.150]
which is a content management
[00:00:44.100]
system that is
[00:00:45.720]
a custom installation
[00:00:48.140]
of what is called Drupal, which
[00:00:50.740]
is one of many different CMSs
[00:00:53.030]
that
[00:00:53.580]
people use. It's an open source
[00:00:55.640]
one, but it's one that we are
[00:00:57.010]
able to customize quite a bit
[00:00:58.630]
and
[00:00:58.980]
make it work really well with
[00:01:00.420]
our framework. I don't know how
[00:01:02.100]
many of you are familiar with
[00:01:03.540]
our
[00:01:03.740]
old one, but we went through a
[00:01:05.350]
big transition last year where
[00:01:07.040]
we went from basically an old
[00:01:08.680]
version of this CMS into a new
[00:01:10.800]
version. And this new one that
[00:01:12.990]
I'm going to show you today
[00:01:14.980]
is really nice insofar as there
[00:01:17.200]
is no HTML, no CSS, no
[00:01:18.820]
JavaScript that you have to
[00:01:20.810]
learn.
[00:01:22.120]
Basically just upload images,
[00:01:24.380]
fill out fields, choose layouts,
[00:01:26.880]
and it'll build it all for you.
[00:01:29.260]
And you can build a really nice
[00:01:30.190]
looking website.
[00:01:30.900]
So as I mentioned previously, I've
[00:01:33.900]
given you all access to a
[00:01:35.900]
sandbox site.
[00:01:37.320]
If you log into that site, you'll
[00:01:39.760]
probably get this
[00:01:40.820]
administrative toolbar at the
[00:01:43.390]
top that's very similar to what
[00:01:45.670]
you see when I'm logged into
[00:01:47.680]
this onboarding site here.
[00:01:51.500]
So I guess my only other thing
[00:01:53.520]
before we start is if you have
[00:01:54.780]
a question while we're going
[00:01:56.340]
through the training, if it's
[00:01:58.090]
something you feel like is very
[00:01:59.850]
urgent, you can go ahead and
[00:02:01.530]
ask it in the chat and I can
[00:02:02.850]
try to respond as we're going
[00:02:04.460]
through the training.
[00:02:06.320]
If it isn't super urgent, just
[00:02:08.320]
hold it till the end and we'll
[00:02:09.610]
have some time for questions
[00:02:11.270]
and we'll go through those.
[00:02:14.940]
in the cms when you log in you'll
[00:02:16.980]
see this administrative toolbar
[00:02:18.770]
and you'll see content
[00:02:20.260]
structure configuration people
[00:02:22.000]
and reports so these are pretty
[00:02:23.550]
self-explanatory i'm going to
[00:02:25.280]
roll through most of this stuff
[00:02:26.850]
as i go through the training
[00:02:28.370]
i won't be able to touch on
[00:02:29.630]
everything
[00:02:30.340]
unfortunately just because
[00:02:32.500]
there's so much to get to but
[00:02:34.570]
content is you know like i
[00:02:36.640]
said content
[00:02:37.680]
is everything that related to
[00:02:39.800]
content on your site so when
[00:02:41.180]
you're on your site you have
[00:02:43.510]
all
[00:02:43.520]
these different pages. And
[00:02:44.620]
typically, you'll have more of
[00:02:45.780]
them in the navigation, and
[00:02:46.820]
they'll kind
[00:02:47.420]
of fill up this navigation bar,
[00:02:49.110]
like, you know, on this sandbox
[00:02:50.710]
site, you know, these are all
[00:02:52.490]
pages,
[00:02:53.120]
if you click on any of these
[00:02:55.170]
pages, you'll see these tabs in
[00:02:56.850]
the upper right to view, edit,
[00:02:59.020]
layout, all those things, right.
[00:03:01.740]
So going back to this site, you
[00:03:03.660]
know, if I click content,
[00:03:05.560]
you can either move through
[00:03:07.200]
your site using the navigation
[00:03:08.850]
and go to the pages and edit
[00:03:10.630]
them
[00:03:11.020]
there. Or you can click the
[00:03:13.110]
content tab and you can see all
[00:03:14.320]
of the pieces of content on
[00:03:15.790]
your site.
[00:03:16.680]
So what are the types of
[00:03:18.800]
content that can be on your
[00:03:20.640]
site? Well, if you roll over
[00:03:23.180]
content and you
[00:03:24.580]
click add content, it'll take
[00:03:26.140]
you to this page that describes
[00:03:27.700]
the different types of content
[00:03:29.320]
that you can add to your site.
[00:03:31.430]
You can also hover over this,
[00:03:33.030]
go add content, and then click
[00:03:35.150]
one of
[00:03:35.440]
those if you want to, you know
[00:03:36.990]
exactly what you want to add.
[00:03:38.810]
But if you hover over it and
[00:03:39.990]
click
[00:03:40.400]
the add content button, there's
[00:03:41.880]
this page that comes up that
[00:03:43.240]
gives you a pretty good
[00:03:43.900]
description
[00:03:44.800]
of what those specific types of
[00:03:46.930]
content are. So a builder page
[00:03:48.660]
is probably the one that you're
[00:03:50.660]
going to use the most because
[00:03:52.040]
that's where you can use this
[00:03:53.500]
layout builder functionality to
[00:03:55.040]
build
[00:03:55.460]
kind of advanced layouts. Book
[00:03:58.280]
pages are good for handbooks
[00:04:00.660]
and year-end reports and things
[00:04:03.540]
like
[00:04:03.860]
that. And news item is exactly
[00:04:05.990]
what it says it is. Person is,
[00:04:07.870]
you know, for entering a person.
[00:04:10.160]
And then web form is for
[00:04:11.550]
gathering information from any
[00:04:13.460]
of your users where you can
[00:04:15.020]
create fields
[00:04:15.960]
and take in information and
[00:04:17.170]
then download that information
[00:04:18.780]
after people have submitted it.
[00:04:20.200]
So we're going to roll through
[00:04:22.380]
kind of these specific ones.
[00:04:24.670]
And then we'll come back to the
[00:04:27.020]
builder page. We're going to
[00:04:29.150]
build our site, kind of a mini
[00:04:31.110]
four-page site or so, using all
[00:04:33.260]
these
[00:04:33.800]
different content types. And I
[00:04:35.340]
want to show you specifically
[00:04:36.720]
how they work together because
[00:04:38.160]
it's
[00:04:38.480]
kind of a modular, the way
[00:04:40.530]
things work together is a
[00:04:41.630]
little bit modular. For
[00:04:43.250]
instance, you can
[00:04:44.540]
create a piece of content and
[00:04:46.660]
reference it in other pieces of
[00:04:47.920]
content. And then if you change
[00:04:49.920]
it in the main piece of content
[00:04:51.440]
where you created it, it'll
[00:04:52.900]
change everywhere it's
[00:04:54.130]
referenced. So
[00:04:55.140]
if that sounds a little bit
[00:04:57.260]
confusing, it'll make a lot
[00:04:58.430]
more sense as I roll through
[00:05:00.120]
this. So
[00:05:00.980]
We're going to go ahead and add
[00:05:02.250]
a person to start.
[00:05:03.180]
And I know it's going to be
[00:05:04.570]
kind of out of order here as I
[00:05:06.180]
add this content and I jump
[00:05:07.510]
around, but it'll make sense
[00:05:09.570]
once I get to the end.
[00:05:11.340]
So we're going to fill out.
[00:05:14.000]
So this is for a person, and I
[00:05:16.120]
want to show you what this
[00:05:17.290]
looks like.
[00:05:18.540]
I want to just fill out two
[00:05:19.730]
fields.
[00:05:20.280]
So you'll see here there's this
[00:05:22.430]
first field, and I fill that
[00:05:24.420]
out, and that's my name.
[00:05:26.420]
And then there's a UNL
[00:05:28.540]
directory reference.
[00:05:30.420]
And you'll see that that's kind
[00:05:31.570]
of like an autocomplete, right?
[00:05:33.020]
So I type my name and then I
[00:05:34.250]
get this selection.
[00:05:35.420]
So I can choose that.
[00:05:38.180]
And then when I choose that,
[00:05:39.660]
you can see my UNL ID after
[00:05:41.020]
this.
[00:05:41.440]
So I'm going to go ahead and
[00:05:42.290]
click save here.
[00:05:42.960]
And you can see that just by
[00:05:45.430]
filling out two fields, I get a
[00:05:48.790]
page for myself, basically.
[00:05:51.540]
So even though I only filled
[00:05:53.560]
out two fields, it has my name
[00:05:55.040]
and all my contact information.
[00:05:57.920]
And that's because when I
[00:06:00.040]
filled out that second field
[00:06:01.800]
where it was referencing the
[00:06:03.900]
university ID, it's actually
[00:06:06.150]
pulling all of this information
[00:06:08.500]
here and the photo from a
[00:06:10.400]
directory at UNL.
[00:06:11.880]
So that's a really nice way to
[00:06:14.310]
build a person page really
[00:06:16.550]
quick.
[00:06:18.540]
You know, I can come back in
[00:06:20.710]
here and let's say for today's
[00:06:23.060]
sake, I don't want my job title
[00:06:25.510]
to be senior web developer.
[00:06:28.000]
Maybe for today I want it to be
[00:06:30.130]
lead trainer, right?
[00:06:31.920]
Because I'm doing a training
[00:06:33.170]
today.
[00:06:33.620]
And you can fill out all these
[00:06:35.740]
fields and override them.
[00:06:37.200]
Maybe you want a different
[00:06:38.580]
photo that's in directory.
[00:06:40.180]
You know, I know that job
[00:06:43.000]
titles aren't always really
[00:06:46.010]
precise in directory.
[00:06:48.440]
Sometimes they're a little bit,
[00:06:49.500]
they have weird abbreviations
[00:06:50.560]
and things like that.
[00:06:51.380]
So this is a good way to
[00:06:52.720]
override those and get what you
[00:06:54.680]
want on your website.
[00:06:56.280]
I will say if you have somebody
[00:06:59.100]
who is maybe visiting the
[00:07:02.040]
university, a visiting lecturer
[00:07:04.050]
or something like that, this is
[00:07:05.580]
also a good way to put
[00:07:06.930]
information in about them.
[00:07:08.820]
If they do not have a UNL
[00:07:09.960]
directory reference where it
[00:07:11.660]
wouldn't be pulling that
[00:07:12.740]
contact information, instead of
[00:07:14.650]
filling out this field,
[00:07:15.920]
you would just fill out these
[00:07:17.360]
kind of override fields,
[00:07:18.720]
and then it would present that
[00:07:21.030]
information
[00:07:22.080]
in the same way that it is
[00:07:24.100]
presenting
[00:07:24.100]
from the information that it's
[00:07:25.300]
pulling from directory.
[00:07:26.420]
So I'm going to go ahead and
[00:07:27.880]
just say, you know, Aaron.
[00:07:29.620]
Just to show you what this
[00:07:35.450]
looks like.
[00:07:37.800]
And then we'll save this again.
[00:07:44.160]
So you can see I filled out
[00:07:45.690]
that one field and it overrode
[00:07:47.500]
my job title from the directory
[00:07:49.400]
with lead trainer.
[00:07:50.860]
And then it put a little
[00:07:52.080]
paragraph of bio information in
[00:07:53.830]
there.
[00:07:54.400]
And there's other fields you
[00:07:57.380]
can fill out, you know, like
[00:08:00.490]
your degrees.
[00:08:02.320]
And I think there's some other
[00:08:03.510]
fields in there.
[00:08:04.360]
And then those all just kind of
[00:08:05.850]
stack in here and keep
[00:08:07.200]
expanding this page if you fill
[00:08:08.470]
those out.
[00:08:09.160]
But that's at a very basic
[00:08:10.510]
level.
[00:08:11.060]
That's how you build a person
[00:08:12.170]
page.
[00:08:13.400]
So we're going to come in here
[00:08:14.520]
now, and we're going to add a
[00:08:15.630]
news item.
[00:08:16.320]
All right, so we're going to
[00:08:20.430]
say news item for November 18
[00:08:25.260]
training.
[00:08:27.240]
So you'll see, again, there's
[00:08:29.400]
just kind of a bunch of fields
[00:08:31.310]
here that you filled out.
[00:08:33.180]
Again, no HTML or CSS, which is
[00:08:35.310]
awesome.
[00:08:35.980]
And you'll see for the image
[00:08:38.800]
field, it gives me this button
[00:08:41.710]
to add media.
[00:08:43.400]
So anytime you add media, which
[00:08:46.560]
is, you know, an image or a
[00:08:49.230]
field, or sorry, not a field,
[00:08:52.380]
but a file in the CMS, you'll
[00:08:55.210]
load this thing called media
[00:08:58.040]
library.
[00:08:59.400]
So media library is a way of
[00:09:01.740]
managing your images and your
[00:09:04.430]
files rather than having
[00:09:06.700]
directories and subdirectories
[00:09:09.700]
and things like that.
[00:09:13.400]
this media library works on
[00:09:16.900]
based on tagging and file names.
[00:09:21.860]
So really quick, I want to put
[00:09:24.120]
a couple
[00:09:24.420]
links in here that are specific
[00:09:27.280]
to what I just mentioned. So I'm
[00:09:30.370]
going to go and I'm going to
[00:09:32.880]
reference this site several
[00:09:34.970]
times in the training. So this
[00:09:36.380]
is the WDN website, which is at
[00:09:38.380]
wdn.ul.edu.
[00:09:40.560]
And then if you go under
[00:09:41.640]
documentation, there's this UNL
[00:09:43.400]
CMS documentation.
[00:09:44.480]
And so all this documentation
[00:09:47.290]
in here is about the system
[00:09:49.390]
that I'm training on today.
[00:09:52.060]
And I obviously can't get to
[00:09:53.280]
all of this.
[00:09:53.980]
But there's a couple things I
[00:09:55.660]
want to touch on here really
[00:09:57.280]
quick.
[00:09:57.860]
so I mentioned in the in the
[00:10:02.200]
media library it's based on
[00:10:06.730]
file names and tagging so I
[00:10:10.700]
want to
[00:10:11.920]
put a couple links so tagging i'm
[00:10:14.160]
going to put a link in our chat
[00:10:16.160]
here about tagging in the
[00:10:17.910]
system
[00:10:18.540]
and then also image best
[00:10:20.660]
practices so this is about you
[00:10:22.360]
know how you name your images
[00:10:24.400]
and how
[00:10:25.000]
optimize your images before you
[00:10:26.790]
add them to your site. So I'm
[00:10:28.420]
going to throw those in the
[00:10:29.860]
chat here
[00:10:30.500]
and I'm going to jump back to
[00:10:32.620]
media library. So media library,
[00:10:34.680]
we're going to go ahead and add
[00:10:36.600]
one.
[00:10:37.260]
So we're adding an image to our
[00:10:38.780]
news item, but in order to do
[00:10:40.250]
that, we have to upload it
[00:10:41.600]
through
[00:10:42.140]
this media library system. So
[00:10:45.050]
we are going to go ahead and
[00:10:47.970]
choose this image here because
[00:10:50.220]
it's
[00:10:50.760]
something I think that I've
[00:10:52.180]
already optimized. So when you
[00:10:53.910]
upload an image, you're
[00:10:55.190]
automatically
[00:10:56.120]
asked to add alt text to it,
[00:10:58.570]
right? So alt text is
[00:11:00.600]
descriptive text that would be
[00:11:03.390]
read to a user
[00:11:04.680]
of your website if they're
[00:11:06.160]
using assistive technology. So
[00:11:08.120]
maybe they have low vision or
[00:11:09.840]
things like that. So this is
[00:11:11.400]
the text that would be read to
[00:11:12.910]
them if they could not see the
[00:11:14.410]
image,
[00:11:15.020]
right so we want to make this
[00:11:18.170]
descriptive like um you know
[00:11:21.740]
university staff
[00:11:23.920]
members sitting in auditorium
[00:11:31.000]
and
[00:11:31.840]
while or you know talking
[00:11:34.790]
something like something like
[00:11:38.450]
that right so then this tag
[00:11:41.620]
is what I discussed and I
[00:11:43.740]
discussed it a little bit more
[00:11:45.680]
in the documentation that I
[00:11:47.770]
sent but
[00:11:48.500]
think of this as a way mentally
[00:11:50.910]
as a way of folders that you
[00:11:53.030]
would put this image in if you
[00:11:55.460]
were nesting folders from
[00:11:57.670]
general to specific so maybe
[00:12:00.090]
you have you know 200 images on
[00:12:03.540]
your
[00:12:03.700]
in your on your computer and
[00:12:05.130]
you want to put those in
[00:12:06.520]
different folders on your
[00:12:07.670]
computer
[00:12:08.260]
think of a tag as a folder and
[00:12:10.390]
then each subsequent tag is a
[00:12:12.340]
nested folder to get a little
[00:12:14.120]
bit more
[00:12:14.500]
specific about that image so
[00:12:17.430]
you know in this case we could
[00:12:20.350]
say staff right so there's
[00:12:23.260]
no tag for
[00:12:24.060]
staff and you'll see what
[00:12:26.180]
happens if i find a tag that's
[00:12:28.120]
already created right so we
[00:12:30.210]
could say
[00:12:31.220]
interior building inside of a
[00:12:34.140]
building. And then we could say,
[00:12:37.650]
you know, we know this photo
[00:12:40.330]
was
[00:12:40.900]
taken in 2025. So we could put
[00:12:43.130]
a year. So you can see here if
[00:12:44.760]
there's already a tag that's
[00:12:46.730]
created,
[00:12:47.040]
it auto completes, and then I
[00:12:49.860]
can choose that tag. So I, you
[00:12:52.860]
don't have to do year,
[00:12:54.780]
but I think it's maybe good
[00:12:56.900]
practice if you ever get down
[00:12:58.950]
the road on your website and
[00:13:01.020]
you're
[00:13:01.620]
want to find images that were
[00:13:03.750]
added during a certain year to
[00:13:05.500]
maybe update them in the future,
[00:13:07.780]
say, well, we can't have, we
[00:13:09.340]
want to get rid of the images
[00:13:10.730]
that are five years old and
[00:13:12.060]
older.
[00:13:12.700]
You could easily do a search
[00:13:14.340]
for, you know, 2020, for
[00:13:16.520]
instance, and then you could
[00:13:18.530]
start
[00:13:18.760]
removing the images from 2020
[00:13:20.480]
and replacing them with new
[00:13:21.670]
ones. So we're gonna go ahead
[00:13:23.000]
and save
[00:13:23.460]
and insert that because we've
[00:13:25.490]
added our alt text. And then
[00:13:26.950]
you can see this image is in
[00:13:29.240]
our news
[00:13:29.660]
item. So cut line, cut line is
[00:13:32.000]
a little bit different than alt
[00:13:34.280]
text. Typically it conveys
[00:13:36.620]
more information. So this could
[00:13:40.690]
be name of person talking to
[00:13:44.030]
name of person and what
[00:13:46.740]
departments
[00:13:53.460]
So obviously you would put that,
[00:13:55.110]
you'd actually put their actual
[00:13:56.850]
names, but I'm just giving an
[00:13:58.340]
idea of what you would put
[00:14:00.350]
there, right? So name of person,
[00:14:02.350]
talking to name of person from,
[00:14:04.440]
you
[00:14:04.860]
know, these departments or
[00:14:06.980]
whatever. So lead image credit,
[00:14:08.790]
you know, this is where we
[00:14:10.690]
could say
[00:14:11.080]
who took the photo. So byline
[00:14:15.790]
would be who wrote the news
[00:14:19.780]
item, you know? So
[00:14:23.460]
Okay.
[00:14:24.460]
Oops.
[00:14:25.460]
And rather than watching me tie
[00:14:28.950]
up five paragraphs, I always
[00:14:32.680]
load up this Lorem Ipsum
[00:14:35.530]
generator,
[00:14:37.180]
and I'll go ahead and just copy
[00:14:43.010]
and paste this.
[00:14:46.400]
And then we have a couple other
[00:14:47.440]
fields here.
[00:14:48.040]
So person reference, I'll show
[00:14:49.310]
you this.
[00:14:49.840]
This is kind of what I was
[00:14:50.680]
mentioning previously, where
[00:14:51.970]
things are a little bit modular,
[00:14:53.230]
and
[00:14:53.320]
see how this works. And let's
[00:14:56.160]
just say, you know, the
[00:14:59.080]
reference for this news item is
[00:15:00.810]
maybe HR,
[00:15:01.880]
right? So we'll say human
[00:15:07.650]
sources. And then we'll hit
[00:15:11.910]
publish. We can see what our
[00:15:16.520]
news item looks
[00:15:18.560]
site. All right. So we have our
[00:15:21.630]
news item, which is our title.
[00:15:24.590]
We have our byline, published
[00:15:27.340]
date,
[00:15:28.080]
cut line, who took the photo,
[00:15:31.230]
the text of the news item. So
[00:15:34.300]
here's this contact reference,
[00:15:38.050]
right? So
[00:15:38.420]
it's pulling my contact
[00:15:40.540]
information through, including
[00:15:42.380]
my job title, which I edited,
[00:15:44.620]
which I overrode from the
[00:15:45.860]
directory.
[00:15:46.600]
So anytime I reference my
[00:15:48.720]
person in other pieces of
[00:15:50.530]
content,
[00:15:51.360]
and this is not the only type
[00:15:52.510]
of content I can reference it
[00:15:53.710]
in,
[00:15:53.920]
then it's pulling through that
[00:15:55.280]
information.
[00:15:56.040]
And then you can see down here,
[00:15:57.600]
related link, human resources,
[00:15:59.420]
which will take us to that site.
[00:16:00.720]
And then it also loads in the
[00:16:03.560]
four most recent news items
[00:16:05.980]
that you've added to the site
[00:16:07.110]
automatically at the bottom.
[00:16:08.500]
So this is a news item.
[00:16:10.620]
It's pretty cool.
[00:16:11.560]
Again, it lays it all out nice.
[00:16:13.300]
It looks like a Nebraska Today
[00:16:14.360]
article, and you don't have to
[00:16:15.460]
touch any HTML.
[00:16:16.200]
So now we are going to go ahead
[00:16:19.300]
and we are going to add a,
[00:16:22.030]
rather than adding a book page,
[00:16:25.140]
I just want to show you what it
[00:16:26.270]
looks like.
[00:16:26.880]
So a book page is a specific
[00:16:29.010]
piece of content that keeps
[00:16:31.010]
fixed navigation on the side,
[00:16:33.390]
and it's really good for
[00:16:35.210]
documentation and things like
[00:16:37.600]
that.
[00:16:38.600]
And once again, I'm going to go
[00:16:40.960]
over to the WDN website and the
[00:16:43.220]
UNL CMS documentation,
[00:16:45.060]
because all of this
[00:16:47.180]
documentation is, they are book
[00:16:49.350]
pages. So when you create a
[00:16:51.800]
book page,
[00:16:52.840]
the first time you create it,
[00:16:55.020]
it creates what's called
[00:16:56.850]
basically a book. So this is
[00:16:59.200]
the introduction
[00:17:00.600]
to UNL CMS book. You know,
[00:17:02.760]
maybe this is the cover or
[00:17:04.650]
whatever. And then all these,
[00:17:07.180]
if you
[00:17:07.740]
want to take that metaphor down.
[00:17:09.870]
These are chapters or pages in
[00:17:11.240]
that book, right? So
[00:17:12.820]
content types, if I open this,
[00:17:15.630]
you can see these are the types
[00:17:17.710]
of content you can add to your
[00:17:20.060]
system, right? And then if I
[00:17:22.900]
open this, these are the types
[00:17:25.410]
of components that we can add
[00:17:28.130]
to our
[00:17:28.360]
builder page. And we're going
[00:17:30.460]
to get to that in just a second.
[00:17:32.250]
But book pages are really nice
[00:17:34.190]
for,
[00:17:34.560]
you know obviously this is
[00:17:36.680]
documentation but they're
[00:17:37.410]
really good for adding content
[00:17:39.060]
to your
[00:17:39.540]
site anytime you want to add
[00:17:41.660]
structured content to your site
[00:17:43.040]
where you always want the
[00:17:45.370]
navigation to
[00:17:45.960]
be present for your users and
[00:17:48.050]
then so they can move through
[00:17:49.120]
this content that navigation is
[00:17:51.660]
present on the right hand side
[00:17:53.240]
and you can nest page with kind
[00:17:54.810]
of parent-child relationships
[00:17:56.520]
and
[00:17:56.820]
you can just keep nesting them
[00:17:59.210]
down through this book you can
[00:18:01.600]
see there's a lot of stuff in
[00:18:03.800]
this
[00:18:04.300]
book you know if i open this up
[00:18:06.380]
it opens down to you know other
[00:18:08.180]
things which again have
[00:18:10.130]
sometimes
[00:18:10.720]
have more than one page
[00:18:12.840]
underneath them so and you can
[00:18:14.210]
add formatted text on any of
[00:18:16.450]
these pages
[00:18:16.880]
you know we've obviously got a
[00:18:18.300]
video embedded in here and
[00:18:19.700]
there's some other pages with
[00:18:21.000]
images and
[00:18:21.620]
headers and things like that so
[00:18:23.740]
it's i've seen people use it
[00:18:25.390]
for year-end reports
[00:18:27.450]
documentation
[00:18:27.900]
policies you know things like
[00:18:29.990]
that anything where you want
[00:18:31.350]
this navigation to stay on the
[00:18:33.220]
page and
[00:18:33.780]
move users through the through
[00:18:36.810]
that content so again that's a
[00:18:39.700]
book page when you create a
[00:18:42.240]
book
[00:18:42.820]
for the first time you'll get
[00:18:44.590]
you'll add this and then you'll
[00:18:46.320]
see this little tab over here
[00:18:48.440]
that says book outline you know
[00:18:51.740]
so when you say you know new
[00:18:54.540]
book right so this is our new
[00:18:57.460]
book
[00:18:58.060]
you know you'll say create a
[00:19:00.190]
new book right so we're going
[00:19:02.170]
to create a new book and it's
[00:19:04.070]
called
[00:19:04.400]
new book so then once you've
[00:19:07.220]
created that new book
[00:19:10.230]
subsequently to add new pages
[00:19:11.670]
or sub pages
[00:19:12.840]
to that new book all you need
[00:19:14.970]
to do is go to the front of
[00:19:16.700]
that book right and then add a
[00:19:18.870]
child page
[00:19:19.720]
and then it'll add a page
[00:19:21.840]
underneath that and then if you
[00:19:23.270]
add a child page underneath a
[00:19:25.550]
child page
[00:19:26.000]
You know, for instance, if I
[00:19:27.360]
want to create this little
[00:19:28.840]
dropdown, all I need to do is
[00:19:29.880]
if I want to add another page
[00:19:31.140]
under this configuration
[00:19:32.350]
section, for instance, I just
[00:19:34.050]
need to click configuration and
[00:19:35.310]
then I add child page.
[00:19:36.600]
And then you kind of keep
[00:19:38.050]
adding layers underneath that.
[00:19:40.200]
So, and it'll automatically,
[00:19:42.480]
you know, if you need to
[00:19:44.160]
rearrange the order of these
[00:19:46.190]
pages, you can come in to edit
[00:19:48.300]
and you can reorder those.
[00:19:51.220]
Similar to how you add pages to
[00:19:53.340]
your navigation, we'll get to
[00:19:54.940]
that.
[00:19:55.540]
But like you can see, so the
[00:19:57.570]
parent item, you can see that
[00:19:58.830]
the parent item is the top
[00:20:00.360]
level of this book page.
[00:20:02.000]
And then you can, this weight
[00:20:03.610]
will determine what order that
[00:20:05.300]
is in.
[00:20:05.860]
So that is a book page.
[00:20:08.760]
And now we're going to go to
[00:20:11.260]
web form.
[00:20:19.140]
So our web form is going to be
[00:20:22.240]
sign up for training.
[00:20:25.000]
And you'll see this little box
[00:20:27.120]
here that says web forms must
[00:20:28.570]
first be created before
[00:20:30.830]
referencing them, which might
[00:20:32.030]
seem a little confusing.
[00:20:33.860]
But when you add a web form to
[00:20:35.990]
your CMS site, there's a two-step
[00:20:38.540]
process for that.
[00:20:40.160]
So I am going to go ahead and
[00:20:42.970]
select a web.
[00:20:44.520]
So these are fields that have
[00:20:46.640]
already been created, and I'm
[00:20:48.000]
going to add them to this page.
[00:20:49.920]
So we're going to go ahead and
[00:20:51.330]
choose sign up here because
[00:20:52.760]
this one's already been created,
[00:20:54.390]
and I'm going to click save.
[00:20:55.980]
And then I'll show you where do
[00:20:58.900]
you create these fields.
[00:21:01.660]
So you can see there's already
[00:21:03.790]
all these fields that are now
[00:21:05.740]
attached to this web form page.
[00:21:08.160]
So there's two kind of separate
[00:21:09.770]
pieces to that.
[00:21:10.760]
There's a page. Sorry, there's
[00:21:12.810]
the fields that you create, and
[00:21:14.350]
this is the information that
[00:21:15.920]
you want to gather.
[00:21:17.220]
And once you've created those
[00:21:19.340]
fields, you attach them to a
[00:21:20.650]
page.
[00:21:21.180]
And once they're attached to a
[00:21:23.300]
page, people using your website
[00:21:25.140]
will go to that page.
[00:21:26.660]
They'll fill out the web form,
[00:21:28.690]
and then the data that they
[00:21:29.950]
fill out will be attached to
[00:21:31.640]
that page.
[00:21:32.520]
So you can see up here, there's
[00:21:34.230]
a results tab. And if this form
[00:21:36.020]
were filled out, that is where
[00:21:38.350]
you would see all the
[00:21:39.440]
submissions of that form. You
[00:21:41.480]
could download the form, you
[00:21:43.370]
could clear the form. Obviously,
[00:21:45.720]
there's none here because we
[00:21:47.530]
literally just created it.
[00:21:50.600]
So there's these fields, attach
[00:21:52.720]
them to the page.
[00:21:53.660]
People go to the page, they
[00:21:55.270]
fill out the fields,
[00:21:56.600]
then the data is attached to
[00:21:57.920]
the page.
[00:21:58.560]
So creating the fields
[00:22:00.680]
themselves that you attach to
[00:22:02.860]
the page,
[00:22:03.800]
those are in a slightly
[00:22:04.620]
different section.
[00:22:05.480]
Those are actually in structure
[00:22:06.920]
here.
[00:22:07.320]
So these are under web forms,
[00:22:09.450]
right?
[00:22:10.060]
So let's see here.
[00:22:11.360]
We're going to go to structure,
[00:22:14.650]
web forms.
[00:22:18.120]
You can see here there's this,
[00:22:20.240]
this is the one we referenced,
[00:22:21.980]
right?
[00:22:22.660]
And so I can click build.
[00:22:24.540]
And you can see all of these
[00:22:27.350]
different fields that are
[00:22:30.370]
referenced on that page.
[00:22:32.760]
And we can add another element.
[00:22:38.140]
We can edit the ones that are
[00:22:39.090]
existing.
[00:22:39.600]
I'll just show you what it
[00:22:40.490]
looks like to add one.
[00:22:41.440]
So, you know, we can add this.
[00:22:44.760]
And let's just say we'll add a
[00:22:47.810]
radio, right?
[00:22:49.820]
So we'll add a radio element.
[00:22:53.420]
And then we'll just say what
[00:22:56.570]
time of day works best for
[00:22:59.450]
training.
[00:23:01.060]
Morning.
[00:23:01.180]
Morning.
[00:23:05.340]
Afternoon.
[00:23:13.480]
Then we'll save this.
[00:23:15.120]
And then we'll go ahead and
[00:23:18.370]
save this so that it's attached
[00:23:23.120]
to our web form.
[00:23:25.260]
And then we're going to come
[00:23:26.230]
back into content.
[00:23:27.060]
We want to go back into the
[00:23:28.360]
page that we're referencing
[00:23:29.900]
these fields on.
[00:23:30.920]
So this is the one we created,
[00:23:32.070]
right?
[00:23:32.480]
And if we scroll down, we can
[00:23:35.320]
see the radio button that we
[00:23:38.310]
just added in those fields.
[00:23:40.860]
And now this is attached to
[00:23:42.260]
this page.
[00:23:43.100]
So if people were to fill out
[00:23:44.490]
this page, then that data would
[00:23:46.120]
be collected here and you could
[00:23:47.700]
download that information.
[00:23:49.440]
So again, it's a little bit of
[00:23:51.240]
a two-step process.
[00:23:52.720]
And the benefit of that is if
[00:23:54.850]
you weren't in the old system,
[00:23:56.980]
we often had people say, hey,
[00:23:59.240]
can I clone a web form?
[00:24:01.240]
And we couldn't.
[00:24:01.900]
You always have to rebuild it,
[00:24:03.200]
which was a giant pain.
[00:24:05.640]
In the new system, let's say
[00:24:07.770]
you have a monthly event or a
[00:24:09.530]
quarterly event or even a
[00:24:11.470]
yearly event that you don't
[00:24:12.870]
want to, you're always
[00:24:13.890]
collecting the same information,
[00:24:15.620]
right?
[00:24:15.980]
Maybe you're just asking people
[00:24:18.100]
some basic contact information
[00:24:19.760]
and, you know, maybe you have a
[00:24:21.810]
quarterly lunch and you need to
[00:24:23.470]
know if anybody has any dietary
[00:24:25.950]
restrictions or whatever.
[00:24:27.160]
So you'd create those fields
[00:24:28.840]
and those would be on the
[00:24:30.230]
structure side.
[00:24:32.140]
And then, you know, you would,
[00:24:34.180]
for each of the different
[00:24:35.500]
events, whether it's monthly or
[00:24:37.210]
quarterly or whatever, you
[00:24:38.810]
would just create a new page
[00:24:40.310]
and then attach those fields.
[00:24:42.240]
Because then the data for each
[00:24:44.370]
of those specific events would
[00:24:46.400]
only be attached to that page.
[00:24:48.680]
And, you know, you can do some
[00:24:50.800]
cool stuff here in this web
[00:24:52.250]
form page.
[00:24:53.140]
Like you can set it to be
[00:24:55.260]
scheduled, for instance, you
[00:24:57.130]
know.
[00:24:57.820]
So if I only want this web form
[00:24:59.550]
to be open during a certain
[00:25:01.110]
time period, I can set that
[00:25:02.800]
here, which is really nice.
[00:25:04.880]
So there's a lot of stuff here
[00:25:07.040]
that is kind of advanced and I
[00:25:09.210]
unfortunately won't have time
[00:25:11.570]
to get into.
[00:25:12.780]
But there's a lot of really
[00:25:13.900]
great functionality built into
[00:25:15.280]
this system.
[00:25:16.020]
But that is web form.
[00:25:20.480]
And let's actually put this in
[00:25:23.320]
our navigation.
[00:25:25.140]
I want to start touching on
[00:25:26.180]
some of this.
[00:25:26.860]
So as I built all this content,
[00:25:28.550]
you've noticed probably there's
[00:25:30.360]
all this stuff on the right
[00:25:31.880]
hand part of the page, right?
[00:25:33.140]
So this is all kind of the
[00:25:35.260]
administrative information
[00:25:36.730]
about the page that you're
[00:25:38.970]
creating.
[00:25:39.400]
And this will be on every page
[00:25:40.770]
that you create, whether it's a
[00:25:42.310]
web form or a builder page or a
[00:25:43.670]
person.
[00:25:44.340]
So, you know, anytime you
[00:25:47.330]
create a page, it's going to
[00:25:50.450]
have authoring information.
[00:25:54.000]
It's going to say this person
[00:25:55.230]
created this page.
[00:25:56.220]
This person was created at this
[00:25:57.700]
time.
[00:25:58.120]
Anytime you edit a page, if you're
[00:26:00.940]
logged in, it's going to go
[00:26:02.800]
ahead and log that edit.
[00:26:04.800]
And if you need to, you can
[00:26:06.810]
actually make a revision
[00:26:07.700]
message here.
[00:26:08.760]
So if you edit a page, you have
[00:26:10.890]
maybe like 10 people working on
[00:26:13.020]
your site and you edit
[00:26:14.560]
a page and you don't
[00:26:16.680]
necessarily want to email
[00:26:17.850]
somebody or let them know why
[00:26:20.390]
you edited the
[00:26:21.240]
page, but you want to have a
[00:26:22.490]
record of it.
[00:26:23.260]
Maybe you can say, fixed typo
[00:26:26.620]
on word blah, whatever, right?
[00:26:30.460]
So maybe you just need to fix a
[00:26:32.520]
typo, and somebody can see that
[00:26:34.400]
you edited that page,
[00:26:35.920]
and they could come back in and
[00:26:37.180]
see why you edited that page in
[00:26:38.590]
the future.
[00:26:39.160]
Menu settings is probably
[00:26:41.600]
pretty obvious.
[00:26:43.420]
If you want to put a page in
[00:26:44.700]
the menu, you check this button.
[00:26:46.640]
Right here, main navigation is
[00:26:49.740]
the parent item, and weight
[00:26:51.960]
will determine
[00:26:52.640]
where that goes left to right
[00:26:54.270]
right so put this at four just
[00:26:56.000]
in case we add other stuff to
[00:26:57.540]
the
[00:26:57.680]
navigation it's going to be the
[00:27:00.500]
far right redirects is if you
[00:27:02.670]
for whatever reason need
[00:27:04.840]
the this page to redirect to
[00:27:06.960]
another page most people don't
[00:27:09.330]
have to use this but it's
[00:27:11.330]
there
[00:27:11.900]
unl url alias so by default
[00:27:15.190]
the cms will create an alias
[00:27:18.510]
for your page so that is
[00:27:21.340]
you know whatever your site url
[00:27:24.260]
is plus you know you can see
[00:27:27.170]
here that it's sign training it's
[00:27:29.980]
going to do that it's not going
[00:27:31.510]
to use words like for and it's
[00:27:32.970]
not going to put those in the
[00:27:34.370]
url
[00:27:34.700]
it's going to kind of append
[00:27:36.100]
those or any i think two letter
[00:27:37.630]
words it's going to just chop
[00:27:39.090]
off so
[00:27:39.480]
sign up for training it's just
[00:27:41.500]
going to be sign training if
[00:27:42.910]
you need it to be something
[00:27:44.190]
different
[00:27:44.940]
you can uncheck that and you
[00:27:46.320]
can go ahead and make it
[00:27:47.780]
whatever custom url you need to
[00:27:49.020]
be
[00:27:49.200]
UNL access, you can actually
[00:27:52.490]
set up access to pages on your
[00:27:56.070]
site based on any affiliation
[00:27:59.570]
at
[00:27:59.960]
UNL. So let's say that you have
[00:28:02.180]
a page that you only want
[00:28:03.820]
faculty and staff to see. You
[00:28:06.240]
could
[00:28:06.940]
actually set this up so that
[00:28:09.760]
staff and faculty would need to
[00:28:12.410]
be logged in to the CMS in
[00:28:15.020]
order
[00:28:15.280]
just to see the content itself.
[00:28:17.400]
There's not a lot of uses for
[00:28:18.810]
this, but maybe you have
[00:28:20.900]
some student information. Again,
[00:28:24.200]
it wouldn't be anything that
[00:28:26.730]
you, you know, you wouldn't
[00:28:29.310]
want
[00:28:29.400]
to put anything out there that's,
[00:28:31.620]
you know, wouldn't pass
[00:28:33.220]
compliance in terms of
[00:28:35.230]
restricted
[00:28:35.540]
data. But maybe there's a form
[00:28:37.890]
or something that a student
[00:28:39.890]
needs, just you want to kind of
[00:28:42.150]
regulate
[00:28:42.960]
access to that and you could
[00:28:45.080]
put you know log in to student
[00:28:46.840]
on that and they'd have to sign
[00:28:48.890]
in to
[00:28:49.340]
get that form that is unl
[00:28:52.150]
access scheduling basically
[00:28:55.220]
this is a way for you to create
[00:28:58.460]
a page and then schedule when
[00:29:00.580]
it's going to go live if you
[00:29:02.250]
don't want it to go live right
[00:29:04.290]
away
[00:29:04.700]
and then promotion options.
[00:29:10.260]
We don't really use this.
[00:29:12.240]
It's kind of an internal CMS
[00:29:16.340]
thing.
[00:29:17.820]
It's not really anything we use.
[00:29:19.280]
So we added this to the
[00:29:21.400]
navigation.
[00:29:22.000]
We're going to click save just
[00:29:23.750]
to see it put in the navigation
[00:29:25.520]
and we're going to keep on.
[00:29:26.920]
Please enter open or close date.
[00:29:30.140]
Oh, yeah, it's just going to be
[00:29:32.160]
open.
[00:29:32.420]
I don't want it scheduled.
[00:29:33.260]
So there we go.
[00:29:34.700]
Right, so you can see that it
[00:29:37.690]
is now in our navigation.
[00:29:40.640]
So that is web forms.
[00:29:42.740]
And now we are going to go to
[00:29:44.860]
builder page.
[00:29:45.780]
So builder page is kind of like
[00:29:49.900]
two pages in one.
[00:29:52.620]
And I'm going to show you what
[00:29:53.640]
I mean by that, because we're
[00:29:54.940]
going to stick with builder
[00:29:56.210]
page here for about the next 20
[00:29:57.810]
minutes as I build a couple
[00:29:59.020]
different builder pages using
[00:30:00.630]
the different functionalities
[00:30:01.750]
of it.
[00:30:02.500]
So we're going to build about
[00:30:05.550]
our department page first.
[00:30:08.780]
And again, we want an image
[00:30:11.930]
here.
[00:30:12.940]
Hero is a big image at the top
[00:30:15.740]
of your page.
[00:30:17.020]
And so we're going to click
[00:30:18.370]
this.
[00:30:18.860]
It's going to open media
[00:30:19.890]
library because we're loading
[00:30:21.260]
an image.
[00:30:21.860]
So rather than uploading
[00:30:25.690]
another image from our desktop,
[00:30:30.900]
we're just going to go ahead
[00:30:32.400]
and choose an image that's
[00:30:33.830]
already been uploaded into our
[00:30:35.520]
media library.
[00:30:36.600]
And you can see these are all
[00:30:37.840]
images that are previously
[00:30:39.440]
uploaded.
[00:30:39.820]
And again, rather than typing a
[00:30:42.960]
bunch, I'm just going to pull a
[00:30:45.980]
bunch of stuff from Lorem Ipsum.
[00:30:49.460]
So when we add this hero,
[00:30:57.880]
So it's best to think about a
[00:31:00.770]
hero on a builder page like a
[00:31:03.710]
photo or a print behind a mat,
[00:31:06.770]
right?
[00:31:07.920]
So there's a mat, and when you
[00:31:09.440]
have a mat on an image, there's
[00:31:11.030]
certain parts of the image that
[00:31:12.630]
are usually a little bit
[00:31:13.850]
trimmed off, right?
[00:31:17.380]
this image here at the top of
[00:31:20.220]
our hero the hero size
[00:31:23.210]
determines how big the mat is
[00:31:25.400]
or how much
[00:31:26.100]
of that image shows through
[00:31:28.400]
vertically this object position
[00:31:31.930]
determines what part of the
[00:31:33.500]
image shows
[00:31:34.520]
through so these first six are
[00:31:36.180]
really the only that you need
[00:31:37.670]
to worry about let's so let's
[00:31:39.220]
say
[00:31:39.520]
you had an image with a horizon
[00:31:41.650]
that was exactly down the
[00:31:43.020]
middle of it vertically. So by
[00:31:45.790]
default,
[00:31:47.420]
that horizon line would be
[00:31:48.910]
right in the middle of the hero
[00:31:50.570]
vertically. It's going to
[00:31:52.210]
center
[00:31:52.760]
vertically the image and show
[00:31:55.600]
portions of the image based on
[00:31:58.590]
that.
[00:31:59.260]
So let's say you have an image
[00:32:01.580]
that you put up there that's a
[00:32:03.900]
group photo of people and all
[00:32:06.380]
their heads are right at the
[00:32:07.300]
top of the image and you don't
[00:32:08.420]
want their heads to get a cut
[00:32:09.220]
off.
[00:32:09.520]
in that case you'd choose 50
[00:32:12.360]
zero percent because that
[00:32:14.060]
number on the right is going to
[00:32:16.360]
be
[00:32:16.640]
percentage based what part of
[00:32:19.480]
that photo is is showing
[00:32:21.220]
through so zero is basically
[00:32:23.660]
the top right
[00:32:24.660]
zero percent it's going to be
[00:32:26.790]
locked to the top likewise say
[00:32:28.590]
you had an image where you're
[00:32:30.600]
shooting maybe on the ground i
[00:32:31.880]
don't know maybe you have a
[00:32:32.990]
squirrel right and you don't
[00:32:34.210]
want the
[00:32:34.680]
squirrel to get crapped off
[00:32:35.930]
because it's right at the
[00:32:37.090]
bottom of the image in that
[00:32:38.180]
case you'd choose
[00:32:39.100]
100% and then that bottom of
[00:32:40.690]
that image would be locked. So
[00:32:42.180]
we're going to just choose
[00:32:43.530]
default
[00:32:43.980]
so you can kind of see what
[00:32:46.100]
happens here. And we'll fill
[00:32:47.480]
these fields in. These are
[00:32:49.810]
optional.
[00:32:50.660]
Then we'll create our hero. It's
[00:32:57.650]
created. We're going to paste
[00:33:04.160]
our text in here and then we're
[00:33:08.400]
going to click Save. So you can
[00:33:12.360]
see some heads are kind of cropped
[00:33:16.490]
off and we don't can't quite
[00:33:19.960]
see everything that we want
[00:33:21.630]
here. There's this gap over
[00:33:23.250]
here and maybe we want to
[00:33:24.870]
format this page
[00:33:25.980]
just a little bit more. So and
[00:33:27.360]
then add it to the navigation.
[00:33:28.820]
So we're going to do a couple
[00:33:30.040]
more
[00:33:30.380]
of things here. We're going to
[00:33:33.220]
edit this page. And first, we're
[00:33:36.210]
going to edit the hero. And we'll
[00:33:39.020]
just go ahead and make this
[00:33:40.240]
large, because I think that
[00:33:41.790]
will show us more of what we
[00:33:42.780]
want to see here.
[00:33:43.800]
So we're going to update the
[00:33:45.920]
hero. We want it to be in the
[00:33:47.640]
navigation. So we'll provide a
[00:33:49.960]
menu link.
[00:33:51.000]
And we'll maybe make it one.
[00:33:53.250]
And then there's that gap on
[00:33:55.320]
the right. And this is specific,
[00:33:58.160]
this page options tab down here
[00:33:59.650]
is specific to a builder page
[00:34:01.010]
because there's a few things in
[00:34:02.470]
[00:34:02.620]
builder page specific to that
[00:34:04.870]
that you can control so there's
[00:34:07.210]
hides page title and hide sidebars
[00:34:09.820]
we
[00:34:10.040]
want to hide that sidebar
[00:34:12.160]
obviously it's not showing up
[00:34:14.270]
there but if you add pages
[00:34:16.260]
builder
[00:34:16.940]
pages and then you leave that
[00:34:18.540]
in there and you put those in
[00:34:20.060]
the navigation it's
[00:34:21.190]
automatically
[00:34:22.160]
going to add navigation in
[00:34:24.280]
there that looks like book page
[00:34:25.990]
navigation. So we want to hide
[00:34:28.180]
that.
[00:34:28.840]
And let's just format a little
[00:34:31.090]
bit just so I can kind of show
[00:34:33.160]
you what this WYSIWYG,
[00:34:35.040]
so WYSIWYG editor, what you see
[00:34:37.410]
is what you get. It's kind of
[00:34:39.640]
like Word, right? So
[00:34:41.520]
if I want to come in here, I
[00:34:44.360]
can create a header. You know,
[00:34:47.730]
you can create bullet lists,
[00:34:51.000]
things like that quotations
[00:34:53.820]
tables there's other headings
[00:34:56.830]
you can add subscript superscript
[00:34:59.780]
you know if you have you make
[00:35:01.910]
extra small or large text if
[00:35:03.690]
you have a link you can
[00:35:05.610]
actually
[00:35:06.000]
format the link like a button
[00:35:08.130]
let me add another image in
[00:35:10.020]
here just to show you some of
[00:35:12.020]
that
[00:35:12.520]
formatting let's put him in
[00:35:15.450]
here so i've added this image
[00:35:18.510]
and then you get these
[00:35:20.800]
formatting
[00:35:22.240]
options right so it's offset
[00:35:25.060]
left offset center float left
[00:35:28.070]
float right and then narrow is
[00:35:30.860]
kind of
[00:35:31.680]
about half of your viewport
[00:35:33.870]
width default is whatever
[00:35:35.980]
whatever image whatever size
[00:35:38.390]
the image
[00:35:39.280]
is uploaded at and then wide is
[00:35:41.420]
going to be full width but we'll
[00:35:43.650]
leave it at that and we'll
[00:35:45.500]
click
[00:35:45.980]
save so you can see a little
[00:35:49.340]
bit more you know and we could
[00:35:52.750]
kind of wiggle this image
[00:35:56.050]
around a
[00:35:57.020]
little bit with the uh you know
[00:35:58.710]
let's just say we don't want
[00:36:00.450]
her head cut off but we don't
[00:36:01.790]
mind if
[00:36:02.400]
their hands are cut off we
[00:36:03.740]
could come back in here and i'll
[00:36:05.410]
show you so right now it's at
[00:36:06.890]
50 50
[00:36:09.280]
Oops.
[00:36:10.620]
Click the wrong tab.
[00:36:13.280]
But if I were to, for instance,
[00:36:16.220]
move this to 60%, well, then
[00:36:19.380]
their hands are probably going
[00:36:22.200]
to be cut off, but that woman's
[00:36:25.090]
face isn't going to be white.
[00:36:28.020]
It's cropped out.
[00:36:30.240]
So you can see it moved it up
[00:36:33.130]
just a little bit, right?
[00:36:36.420]
because 50, 50 is right in the
[00:36:38.540]
middle 50, 60, it's going to
[00:36:40.210]
move it up just a little,
[00:36:41.480]
and 80 is going to move it up
[00:36:43.040]
more. And then, you know,
[00:36:44.550]
likewise. So,
[00:36:45.460]
so we've got this pretty nice
[00:36:47.670]
little page and this was just
[00:36:49.900]
built in the edit tab. And so
[00:36:52.190]
we're
[00:36:52.580]
going to keep going, keep
[00:36:53.800]
talking about builder page here.
[00:36:55.470]
So we're going to add another
[00:36:56.810]
builder
[00:36:57.300]
page and we're going to say our
[00:37:00.460]
trainers, and we're just going
[00:37:03.910]
to click save here.
[00:37:06.420]
and we're going to go ahead and
[00:37:09.920]
now we're going to go into this
[00:37:13.880]
layout tab so layout is
[00:37:16.880]
layout builder which is the
[00:37:19.720]
kind of advanced features of
[00:37:22.640]
this system you'll see there's
[00:37:25.130]
[00:37:25.340]
bunch of boxes here right so
[00:37:26.660]
this is just a placeholder for
[00:37:28.180]
that previous tab that we were
[00:37:29.540]
on
[00:37:29.820]
edit tab if there was text in
[00:37:31.330]
here it would show up here this
[00:37:32.960]
is kind of that menu that will
[00:37:34.520]
show
[00:37:34.920]
up by default you don't really
[00:37:36.350]
need to worry about this
[00:37:37.740]
because it's not going to show
[00:37:38.920]
up
[00:37:39.180]
unless there's stuff in there
[00:37:42.180]
but then you see we also have
[00:37:45.010]
the ability to add this this
[00:37:47.700]
thing
[00:37:48.340]
called add section so we're
[00:37:49.820]
going to add a section whenever
[00:37:51.490]
you add a section then you have
[00:37:53.090]
the
[00:37:53.400]
ability to add a new layout
[00:37:54.880]
within that section so at a
[00:37:56.360]
very base level you can think
[00:37:57.980]
of it as
[00:37:58.520]
you're creating a row and then
[00:37:59.840]
you're putting columns in that
[00:38:01.330]
row and then you're putting
[00:38:02.500]
stuff in that columns or in
[00:38:04.630]
those columns. So in this
[00:38:06.330]
particular case, we're going to
[00:38:08.720]
choose one
[00:38:09.580]
column. And then when you add
[00:38:12.400]
the layout, then you have the
[00:38:15.410]
ability to customize that
[00:38:16.980]
layout as well.
[00:38:18.620]
So you can add a heading to it.
[00:38:21.030]
You can change the background.
[00:38:23.650]
We're going to go lightest gray.
[00:38:26.480]
you can add a pattern to that.
[00:38:28.670]
The container is the width of
[00:38:30.710]
it. So standard wrappers can be
[00:38:33.180]
kind
[00:38:33.480]
of navigation to navigation
[00:38:35.610]
edge. Edge to edge is the edge
[00:38:37.720]
of the browser to the edge of
[00:38:39.690]
the browser.
[00:38:40.860]
And then the spacing is the
[00:38:42.240]
vertical height of that section.
[00:38:44.230]
So we're going to go ahead and
[00:38:45.680]
just add these background
[00:38:48.130]
colors and the pattern. And you
[00:38:51.510]
can see now that we've created
[00:38:53.990]
this
[00:38:54.560]
section. And we've got this
[00:38:56.680]
background color and pattern.
[00:38:57.860]
And then we're going to add a
[00:38:59.320]
component
[00:38:59.980]
here. So these components are
[00:39:03.340]
all the different, basically
[00:39:06.340]
the kind of layout pieces that
[00:39:09.100]
you can
[00:39:10.120]
add to your page. So, and there's,
[00:39:13.010]
there's even two pages of these.
[00:39:15.610]
So there's all of these here.
[00:39:18.020]
And then there's a more tab.
[00:39:20.150]
And the way I like to explain
[00:39:21.960]
the difference of this is
[00:39:24.560]
Think about these components
[00:39:26.690]
right here that you can see.
[00:39:28.640]
This is for content that you're
[00:39:30.770]
adding directly to this page,
[00:39:32.500]
and it's going to live on this
[00:39:33.820]
page.
[00:39:34.240]
This More tab will take you to
[00:39:36.360]
more things that you can add.
[00:39:38.180]
And this content is content
[00:39:41.020]
that either lives elsewhere on
[00:39:44.010]
the site
[00:39:44.520]
or is being pulled from a
[00:39:46.640]
different system elsewhere at
[00:39:48.900]
UNL.
[00:39:49.520]
And I'll show you what I mean.
[00:39:50.620]
We're going to get to that.
[00:39:53.180]
But we're going to go ahead and
[00:39:55.550]
add a curated list of people.
[00:39:58.100]
So we'll say Lead Trainer.
[00:40:06.100]
We'll add myself.
[00:40:07.400]
This is, again, we're
[00:40:08.420]
referencing content
[00:40:09.420]
that's created elsewhere.
[00:40:13.180]
We're going to go Teaser Featured,
[00:40:14.680]
and then we're going to add
[00:40:15.650]
this block.
[00:40:23.180]
Try again.
[00:40:53.180]
All right.
[00:40:53.680]
I don't know what happened
[00:40:54.620]
there.
[00:40:55.020]
Might have been a connection
[00:40:55.990]
issue.
[00:40:56.360]
So you can see here, I'm
[00:40:59.200]
referencing content from
[00:41:02.340]
elsewhere on the site.
[00:41:05.380]
It's pulling this content
[00:41:06.410]
through and displaying it.
[00:41:07.660]
Oh, it actually did it twice.
[00:41:10.680]
Well, I guess that'll give me a
[00:41:14.570]
chance to show how to remove
[00:41:18.020]
stuff.
[00:41:19.260]
So I'm going to go ahead and
[00:41:20.880]
add another section here, and
[00:41:23.100]
then I'll show you how to
[00:41:24.280]
remove that duplicate.
[00:41:26.020]
So we're going to go again one
[00:41:28.300]
column, and we're going to
[00:41:30.480]
leave all this default, and we're
[00:41:33.230]
going to add this, and you see
[00:41:36.000]
another component.
[00:41:37.560]
Again, we're going to click
[00:41:39.000]
through.
[00:41:39.660]
We're going to add a person.
[00:41:41.960]
I don't know if anybody saw,
[00:41:44.090]
but my coworker, Saron, joined.
[00:41:46.880]
so if anybody has questions you
[00:41:48.600]
can ask her as we go through
[00:41:50.050]
the training i'm going to add
[00:41:52.710]
her to
[00:41:53.340]
this page so we'll choose her
[00:41:58.170]
and we'll add this block and
[00:42:03.320]
then we'll save our page
[00:42:06.940]
all right we want to get rid of
[00:42:10.080]
my duplicate so we're going to
[00:42:13.360]
come back into layout
[00:42:15.860]
So, Betsy asks, what does
[00:42:21.690]
teaser mean?
[00:42:24.200]
Teaser, that's just, those are
[00:42:26.330]
just kind of different ways to
[00:42:28.180]
display the content.
[00:42:29.760]
You'll notice that when I chose
[00:42:31.880]
teaser featured, it displays
[00:42:32.930]
like this.
[00:42:34.300]
And when I chose teaser, it
[00:42:36.420]
displays like this.
[00:42:37.760]
There's also teaser centered,
[00:42:39.890]
which displays the person's
[00:42:41.420]
head in a circle and then the
[00:42:43.160]
contact information to the
[00:42:44.030]
right.
[00:42:44.480]
So it's just kind of different
[00:42:45.480]
ways of displaying that
[00:42:46.600]
information.
[00:42:46.860]
So you'll see when I'm on this
[00:42:48.880]
page, we have these add
[00:42:50.010]
sections, and you can kind of
[00:42:51.860]
build out these builder pages.
[00:42:53.700]
Anytime you add a new section,
[00:42:55.430]
it's going to automatically
[00:42:56.990]
give you the ability to add a
[00:42:58.560]
new section either above or
[00:43:00.110]
below that.
[00:43:01.080]
Once you added a component, you
[00:43:04.510]
can, then those are in the
[00:43:07.660]
section.
[00:43:09.100]
and when you when you're over
[00:43:10.540]
here on a page that you've
[00:43:11.940]
built and you're in the layout
[00:43:13.300]
tab
[00:43:13.500]
you can see if i need to
[00:43:14.890]
configure the section again so
[00:43:16.860]
if i want to change this
[00:43:18.180]
background of
[00:43:19.100]
this section you can see when i
[00:43:21.220]
hover over this i get these
[00:43:22.390]
dotted lines and i can come in
[00:43:24.290]
here
[00:43:24.700]
right and i could maybe change
[00:43:26.770]
the background right maybe i
[00:43:28.330]
want to change that so if i
[00:43:29.900]
want
[00:43:30.300]
to update the section which is
[00:43:32.430]
kind of the wrapper you get
[00:43:33.830]
this little edit up here and
[00:43:36.130]
that's where
[00:43:36.860]
you change that if you want to
[00:43:38.990]
change the component you'll
[00:43:40.680]
hover over the component
[00:43:42.460]
and then you'll get a little
[00:43:43.680]
edit in the upper right hand
[00:43:44.880]
right so if i want to change
[00:43:46.100]
this or remove it well i do
[00:43:47.710]
want to remove it because i
[00:43:49.410]
accidentally duplicated this
[00:43:51.930]
right
[00:43:51.940]
so i'm going to remove this
[00:43:54.410]
block which is just that
[00:43:57.700]
duplicate and then i'll save it
[00:44:04.380]
All right, so now we've got our
[00:44:06.030]
nice little directory page here.
[00:44:08.020]
And you can see how you could
[00:44:10.140]
easily build out a directory.
[00:44:12.020]
You know, once if you have a
[00:44:14.210]
department with 20 people and
[00:44:17.000]
you add all the people first,
[00:44:19.480]
and then you want to build a
[00:44:20.830]
directory page, you know, maybe
[00:44:22.620]
you have a faculty section at
[00:44:24.070]
the top and you add them all in
[00:44:25.540]
there.
[00:44:26.200]
And then you have a staff
[00:44:27.060]
section underneath that.
[00:44:28.140]
And then you add them all in
[00:44:28.860]
there.
[00:44:29.140]
Maybe you have some grad
[00:44:30.000]
students and you add them under
[00:44:31.260]
that.
[00:44:31.480]
So you could just create new
[00:44:32.880]
sections and then pull those
[00:44:34.340]
references into that page and
[00:44:35.880]
create a directory page really
[00:44:37.220]
easily.
[00:44:37.400]
And it'll automatically just
[00:44:38.920]
kind of put it in a grid and
[00:44:40.220]
everything like that, no matter
[00:44:41.880]
how many you add.
[00:44:42.980]
So that is the layout builder.
[00:44:48.520]
That is the first part of the
[00:44:49.430]
layout builder.
[00:44:50.080]
We're going to come in here and
[00:44:51.740]
we're going to start using
[00:44:53.190]
layout builder again to build
[00:44:54.850]
kind of a front page of our
[00:44:56.240]
site.
[00:44:56.840]
So we're going to build a
[00:44:58.960]
welcome page.
[00:45:00.680]
We're going to click Save.
[00:45:01.560]
And again, we're going to come
[00:45:04.380]
into the Layout tab.
[00:45:06.440]
And we're going to go ahead and
[00:45:09.730]
add a section.
[00:45:11.700]
We're going to do one column.
[00:45:13.460]
We're just going to keep all
[00:45:15.890]
this default for now.
[00:45:18.080]
We're going to add a component.
[00:45:22.040]
And I'll show you one more
[00:45:23.440]
thing really quick.
[00:45:24.800]
Before I add this component, we're
[00:45:27.620]
going to go back here.
[00:45:30.680]
So if you want to see what all
[00:45:31.830]
these components look like,
[00:45:33.080]
this is a great trick.
[00:45:34.120]
So again, to reiterate, wdn.unl.edu,
[00:45:38.050]
documentation, UNL CMS
[00:45:40.180]
documentation.
[00:45:41.920]
You click into this.
[00:45:46.000]
You click content types.
[00:45:47.080]
You click builder page.
[00:45:50.260]
And then you can click into any
[00:45:53.100]
of these.
[00:45:54.140]
We're going to add a display
[00:45:55.330]
banner next.
[00:45:59.340]
And it shows you what it looks
[00:46:01.000]
like, but then you can also
[00:46:02.670]
click view live component.
[00:46:04.380]
And this is very helpful, I
[00:46:06.510]
think, for people to see.
[00:46:08.420]
It takes you to a page with all
[00:46:11.240]
of the different components
[00:46:14.170]
that you can add to your
[00:46:15.820]
builder page.
[00:46:17.500]
And it shows you what they look
[00:46:18.810]
like once you've added them on
[00:46:20.270]
the page, right?
[00:46:21.080]
So this is really nice just to
[00:46:22.720]
kind of see all the different
[00:46:24.380]
ways you can visually display
[00:46:26.810]
information on your site.
[00:46:28.400]
So I just wanted to show you
[00:46:29.330]
that.
[00:46:29.700]
And now we're going to add a
[00:46:31.140]
display banner, which looks
[00:46:32.790]
like this, right?
[00:46:34.040]
So we're going to come back
[00:46:35.070]
over here.
[00:46:35.660]
It's kind of like a hero, but
[00:46:37.450]
it's a fancy hero because you
[00:46:39.410]
can put text and buttons on it,
[00:46:41.490]
right?
[00:46:41.860]
So we're going to do a display
[00:46:43.320]
banner.
[00:46:43.920]
And we'll just say, welcome to
[00:46:49.790]
our site.
[00:46:58.400]
And we'll just say, whoops,
[00:47:00.810]
that's the subhead.
[00:47:02.780]
And again, rather than
[00:47:08.610]
uploading an image, I'm just
[00:47:12.850]
going to choose one that's
[00:47:14.590]
already uploaded to our library.
[00:47:28.400]
So object position, again, that
[00:47:30.010]
just kind of adjusts vertically
[00:47:31.500]
what it would look like.
[00:47:32.820]
I can add a link here.
[00:47:35.560]
And here's the really cool.
[00:47:37.580]
So this is going to put a link
[00:47:39.710]
into your display banner.
[00:47:41.580]
So theoretically, if you're
[00:47:43.590]
building a front page of your
[00:47:44.550]
site and you want to add this,
[00:47:46.160]
this would be kind of the most
[00:47:47.470]
important thing that you want
[00:47:49.000]
people to do, right?
[00:47:50.020]
So maybe if people are coming
[00:47:51.100]
to our site, we want them to
[00:47:52.150]
sign up for training, right?
[00:47:53.440]
So there's a really other
[00:47:55.450]
really cool thing about the CMS.
[00:47:57.760]
Rather than having to know the
[00:47:59.300]
URL or the page you're linking
[00:48:00.840]
to, like trying to juggle that,
[00:48:02.720]
all you have to do is know the
[00:48:04.230]
name of the page.
[00:48:05.340]
So if you just start typing, if
[00:48:06.900]
it's a URL field, all you have
[00:48:08.420]
to do is start typing, right?
[00:48:10.100]
[00:48:11.500]
So we created this sign up for
[00:48:13.620]
training page, right?
[00:48:14.920]
I click enter.
[00:48:16.960]
Boom, it's already created a
[00:48:18.030]
link, right?
[00:48:18.700]
So sign up for training.
[00:48:21.600]
And that's actually the best
[00:48:22.900]
way you can create links on
[00:48:24.080]
your site.
[00:48:24.740]
Because if you go by the URL
[00:48:26.380]
and you put that in there,
[00:48:28.030]
sometimes URLs change and then
[00:48:29.970]
your
[00:48:30.380]
link might be broken.
[00:48:31.100]
But if you create a link by
[00:48:33.220]
referencing the page title, if
[00:48:34.470]
the title of that page ever
[00:48:36.080]
changes, it's going to know it's
[00:48:38.200]
creating a link based on the
[00:48:39.860]
node number.
[00:48:40.940]
So every time you create a new
[00:48:42.450]
piece of content on your site,
[00:48:44.080]
it gets a number assigned to
[00:48:45.640]
it.
[00:48:45.820]
It's actually creating it based
[00:48:48.030]
on that node reference.
[00:48:50.260]
And so if the name of that page
[00:48:51.700]
changes for whatever reason,
[00:48:53.340]
that link will not break.
[00:48:54.460]
So this is a preferred way of
[00:48:56.530]
creating links.
[00:48:57.120]
But anyway, we're going to go
[00:48:58.620]
ahead and add this.
[00:48:59.720]
Oh, I got a question.
[00:49:07.120]
The examples page.
[00:49:09.780]
Yep, it is here.
[00:49:20.260]
All right. So you can see we
[00:49:22.380]
created this display banner. We've
[00:49:24.540]
got some text and we've got our
[00:49:26.480]
button that links to our page.
[00:49:28.620]
We're going to go ahead and hit
[00:49:30.210]
save just to kind of see what
[00:49:31.250]
it looks like when it's
[00:49:32.290]
rendered.
[00:49:34.200]
I like to save early and often
[00:49:35.690]
just in case, you know.
[00:49:37.140]
You can see we've got this page
[00:49:40.440]
title here, and we want to get
[00:49:42.970]
rid of this, and then we want
[00:49:44.280]
to get rid of all this padding.
[00:49:45.360]
We want it to be flush to the
[00:49:46.600]
top.
[00:49:47.000]
So to get rid of the page title,
[00:49:49.080]
if you remembered previously,
[00:49:50.940]
as I've been kind of burning
[00:49:52.830]
through all this, in the edit
[00:49:54.490]
tab, if you go way down here
[00:49:56.120]
under page options, you can
[00:49:58.010]
actually visually hide the page
[00:50:00.030]
title here.
[00:50:01.140]
So we're going to hide that.
[00:50:04.200]
Click Save. So that got rid of
[00:50:06.340]
the page title. Then we go back
[00:50:08.560]
into layout. And we know that
[00:50:10.710]
we want to get rid of this
[00:50:12.370]
padding. And so again, I'm
[00:50:14.400]
going to kind of hover over
[00:50:16.200]
this and you can see all that
[00:50:18.000]
padding exists within the
[00:50:19.940]
section. So we need to edit
[00:50:21.910]
this section.
[00:50:24.700]
So first of all, we want to get
[00:50:25.860]
rid of the side padding.
[00:50:26.980]
So that's edge to edge.
[00:50:28.120]
And then we want to remove the
[00:50:29.550]
default vertical spacing.
[00:50:31.060]
So we're going to click update.
[00:50:32.800]
And that now has removed all
[00:50:35.260]
that spacing.
[00:50:36.780]
And we're going to click save.
[00:50:37.940]
Boom.
[00:50:40.560]
It's all flush.
[00:50:41.380]
It's good.
[00:50:41.960]
It's like we want to, looks
[00:50:44.080]
like we want it to look.
[00:50:45.560]
So we're going to click layout
[00:50:46.980]
here.
[00:50:47.420]
We're going to keep adding to
[00:50:49.520]
this page.
[00:50:50.100]
I'm going to do two column this
[00:50:53.390]
time.
[00:50:54.700]
And you'll see when I do two
[00:50:55.930]
column, I get several other
[00:50:57.520]
options, right?
[00:50:58.280]
I can choose the width of those
[00:51:00.390]
columns if I want one column
[00:51:01.440]
bigger than the other, or I can
[00:51:03.160]
choose 50-50.
[00:51:04.280]
I'm just going to click.
[00:51:07.040]
I'm going to leave all the rest
[00:51:08.820]
of this stuff default because
[00:51:10.750]
by default, it's actually
[00:51:12.240]
pretty nice just default
[00:51:13.760]
spacing.
[00:51:14.600]
I'm going to add another
[00:51:15.910]
component here.
[00:51:17.000]
I'm going to do a card.
[00:51:20.100]
So we're going to go about our
[00:51:25.930]
department here.
[00:51:27.400]
And then again, I want to
[00:51:29.520]
create a link to about our
[00:51:31.180]
department page.
[00:51:32.820]
So again, all I have to do is
[00:51:34.940]
start typing the name of that
[00:51:36.310]
page, and then I've created a
[00:51:38.130]
link.
[00:51:38.580]
I'm going to fill these out
[00:51:40.930]
just so you can see what they
[00:51:43.390]
look like.
[00:51:48.340]
So card is kind of like, I don't
[00:51:49.930]
know, like a baseball card or
[00:51:51.470]
Pokemon card, right?
[00:51:52.840]
It's like you can put an image
[00:51:54.540]
up there.
[00:51:55.320]
It has a headline.
[00:51:56.040]
It has some text, optional link.
[00:51:58.340]
So learn more about what we do.
[00:52:03.300]
And then you can choose your
[00:52:06.550]
background color, right?
[00:52:10.300]
So I'm going to add that.
[00:52:18.340]
connection today is kind of buggy.
[00:52:23.580]
All right. I'm going to click
[00:52:28.100]
save. I'm going to see if it
[00:52:32.280]
saved last time it did,
[00:52:35.900]
even though it didn't look like
[00:52:37.200]
it. Then I'm going to reload
[00:52:38.650]
this thing and see what happens.
[00:52:39.960]
Okay. So it did save. I'm going
[00:52:42.400]
to come back in here and add
[00:52:44.260]
another card just so my page is
[00:52:46.480]
balanced, I do not know what's
[00:52:48.700]
going on with the connection.
[00:52:51.080]
So we'll say about our people.
[00:52:57.520]
Again, we'll add one.
[00:53:16.480]
And I left this headline link
[00:53:23.570]
blank up here.
[00:53:27.780]
So I left this field blank.
[00:53:29.380]
And now if I scroll down here,
[00:53:31.510]
you'll see I have the option to
[00:53:32.690]
add a button.
[00:53:33.220]
So I'll show you.
[00:53:37.780]
I want to highlight something
[00:53:39.910]
here.
[00:53:40.380]
So meet our people.
[00:53:46.480]
So because I didn't fill this
[00:53:48.080]
out, this component gave me the
[00:53:49.890]
option of adding a button at
[00:53:51.440]
the bottom.
[00:53:52.380]
And I'll show you what that
[00:53:53.100]
looks like.
[00:53:53.520]
It's just slightly different.
[00:53:55.000]
And again, if I was designing
[00:53:57.820]
this, you know, in real life, I
[00:54:00.930]
would probably make these match
[00:54:03.960]
just so that they visually look
[00:54:06.880]
the same.
[00:54:08.140]
I would either do them both as
[00:54:10.240]
buttons or both as titles as
[00:54:11.290]
headlines.
[00:54:12.380]
But I just wanted to show you
[00:54:14.470]
this kind of to represent that
[00:54:15.880]
not only do we have all these
[00:54:18.210]
different components that you
[00:54:19.890]
can use in this layout section,
[00:54:22.360]
but within the components
[00:54:23.720]
themselves, a lot of times
[00:54:25.260]
there are different display
[00:54:27.020]
options within the components
[00:54:28.630]
themselves, depending on what
[00:54:30.470]
fields you fill out.
[00:54:31.860]
So it's very powerful.
[00:54:33.740]
It's very flexible.
[00:54:34.520]
And you can create a lot of
[00:54:35.780]
different layouts just using
[00:54:37.360]
what's in there.
[00:54:38.260]
So we'll click save.
[00:54:40.160]
Again, I like to save often.
[00:54:41.660]
You don't have to click save
[00:54:43.250]
every time you make a change,
[00:54:45.020]
but I'm paranoid with this
[00:54:47.320]
connection kind of being weird
[00:54:50.640]
that I'm going to lose
[00:54:51.270]
something.
[00:54:51.740]
So we're going to add another
[00:54:53.860]
section here.
[00:54:54.580]
I'm going to kind of roll
[00:54:55.380]
through this quick
[00:54:56.040]
because we're bumping up
[00:54:57.190]
against the end of time.
[00:54:58.480]
I can stick around, and I
[00:54:59.790]
usually do.
[00:55:00.580]
It's probably going to take
[00:55:01.420]
about 15 more minutes,
[00:55:02.360]
but we're going to go ahead and
[00:55:04.680]
save this.
[00:55:08.560]
And we're going to add a
[00:55:09.550]
component.
[00:55:10.220]
Again, we're going to click
[00:55:11.800]
this.
[00:55:12.320]
And this time we're going to
[00:55:13.860]
click upcoming events.
[00:55:15.400]
So this is, again, really cool.
[00:55:17.940]
In the old system, you had to
[00:55:20.060]
know JavaScript in order to
[00:55:21.700]
just get events on your page.
[00:55:23.840]
But in the new system, all you
[00:55:27.270]
have to do is know the URL for
[00:55:30.860]
your events calendar.
[00:55:38.560]
And it will automatically load
[00:55:41.700]
in here.
[00:55:42.820]
Similarly, let's say we want to
[00:55:45.630]
add some news.
[00:55:46.720]
So we're going to add a new
[00:55:48.840]
section, add a column.
[00:55:50.140]
And then we'll go ahead and add
[00:55:55.970]
this component.
[00:55:58.660]
We'll go More.
[00:56:00.700]
And then we'll say News Aggregation.
[00:56:04.060]
So we'll say Latest News.
[00:56:08.560]
Choose four.
[00:56:09.980]
And maybe we want to give this
[00:56:14.710]
a background.
[00:56:17.520]
You know, lightest gray.
[00:56:20.160]
Update that.
[00:56:23.020]
And then we'll click save.
[00:56:27.200]
All right.
[00:56:33.360]
So now you can see.
[00:56:37.260]
Whoops.
[00:56:38.560]
It's kind of loading weird here.
[00:56:40.690]
There's a few things we'd need
[00:56:42.620]
to tweak on this to get it
[00:56:44.360]
looking perfect, but you can
[00:56:46.430]
see we built out this page and
[00:56:47.860]
it's pretty nice looking and we
[00:56:50.140]
can
[00:56:50.140]
change some backgrounds and we
[00:56:51.280]
can change some paddings and
[00:56:52.320]
touch that up if we really
[00:56:53.240]
wanted to.
[00:56:53.820]
But I want to touch on one
[00:56:55.100]
other, a couple of other things
[00:56:56.840]
quick. So let's say we've built
[00:56:58.630]
this
[00:56:58.980]
page and we really like the
[00:57:00.520]
look of it and we want to
[00:57:01.870]
mirror it for other pages. But
[00:57:03.740]
we also have
[00:57:04.560]
this tab up here on our site
[00:57:06.680]
called replicate so let's say
[00:57:08.090]
we wanted a page for academics
[00:57:10.390]
and we
[00:57:10.740]
wanted to look a lot like this
[00:57:12.870]
maybe not exactly but we could
[00:57:14.880]
say academics so we'll
[00:57:16.570]
replicate this
[00:57:17.700]
and then layout and we're
[00:57:21.100]
editing you know if i want to
[00:57:25.780]
make sure just to make sure if
[00:57:29.610]
i click
[00:57:30.780]
edit here, you can see we're
[00:57:32.940]
editing academics and not
[00:57:34.940]
welcome, which was the original
[00:57:37.490]
page.
[00:57:38.240]
So, you know, let's say we want
[00:57:41.210]
to, we don't need events on our
[00:57:44.070]
academics page. Maybe we don't
[00:57:47.150]
need
[00:57:47.640]
news on our academics page. We'll
[00:57:49.770]
remove those. You know, maybe
[00:57:51.140]
we want to, this needs to be a
[00:57:53.100]
different image. So we'll
[00:57:56.130]
remove that and remove this.
[00:57:59.450]
You know, re-add. Maybe it
[00:58:03.070]
looks like, I don't know, this.
[00:58:22.100]
And obviously we want to change
[00:58:23.560]
this link, right? Or whatever.
[00:58:25.300]
So then you can update this,
[00:58:34.310]
save it. So very quickly you
[00:58:39.120]
could replicate a page,
[00:58:40.940]
swap out the photos and the
[00:58:43.060]
text, and then, you know, maybe
[00:58:45.240]
you have a design you really
[00:58:47.180]
like,
[00:58:47.620]
and you want three of the top
[00:58:49.650]
level pages on your site
[00:58:50.780]
to look like that design,
[00:58:51.820]
similar.
[00:58:52.340]
Could very easily replicate it
[00:58:54.380]
and change out the photos and
[00:58:55.260]
things like that.
[00:58:55.900]
So the only other tab I did not
[00:58:58.030]
touch on,
[00:58:58.520]
and this kind of ties in with,
[00:59:00.140]
you know,
[00:59:00.580]
if you go in here, anytime you
[00:59:03.400]
edit a page,
[00:59:05.120]
it's gonna have, it's gonna
[00:59:07.960]
mark that edit
[00:59:08.940]
and who made that edit.
[00:59:10.140]
So revisions, this just shows
[00:59:13.920]
you
[00:59:14.420]
when revisions were made to
[00:59:15.970]
that page
[00:59:16.560]
and who made those revisions,
[00:59:18.240]
you can revert to a previous
[00:59:19.720]
revision. So this is very
[00:59:22.390]
helpful if
[00:59:22.740]
you have a lot of people
[00:59:23.900]
editing your site, you know,
[00:59:25.580]
maybe somebody made an edit
[00:59:26.930]
that you need
[00:59:27.700]
to roll back. You can easily
[00:59:29.820]
roll that back by clicking the
[00:59:31.210]
revert button. You can view
[00:59:33.530]
those
[00:59:33.740]
previous revisions by just, you
[00:59:35.750]
know, maybe you want to right
[00:59:37.040]
click and open that in a new
[00:59:38.420]
tab,
[00:59:38.720]
just to see what that previous
[00:59:39.900]
revision looks like to make
[00:59:40.990]
sure that's what you want to go
[00:59:42.160]
back to.
[00:59:44.240]
So that is the revisions tab.
[00:59:45.780]
And that's pretty much
[00:59:47.900]
everything about adding content.
[00:59:50.660]
I want to touch on a couple of
[00:59:52.090]
things really quick.
[00:59:53.440]
So when we were uploading
[00:59:55.470]
images, we went into this thing
[00:59:56.530]
called media library.
[00:59:57.540]
If you want to go to media
[00:59:59.820]
library, that is under content
[01:00:02.890]
and media.
[01:00:04.200]
So this just opens media
[01:00:05.550]
library in the whole window,
[01:00:07.240]
basically, instead of that
[01:00:08.860]
little modal.
[01:00:09.920]
So this is a way that you can
[01:00:11.920]
see all the media on your site.
[01:00:14.020]
So this is any images, any
[01:00:15.220]
files, things like that.
[01:00:16.620]
So you can see all this stuff
[01:00:17.540]
that we've uploaded through the
[01:00:18.750]
previous trainings.
[01:00:19.460]
And you can see this image we
[01:00:20.770]
uploaded this morning.
[01:00:22.140]
So we're going to add a media.
[01:00:23.320]
We're going to add a file to
[01:00:24.860]
our site now.
[01:00:25.780]
So we're going to choose a file.
[01:00:29.800]
And boy, let's see if I have
[01:00:32.100]
any files right now.
[01:00:34.020]
Sure.
[01:00:37.880]
So we're going to upload this
[01:00:40.070]
report.
[01:00:43.060]
So you see this little button
[01:00:44.200]
here.
[01:00:44.580]
I certify the following is true.
[01:00:46.220]
I have done due diligence to
[01:00:47.490]
assure that this file meets
[01:00:49.040]
accessibility standards.
[01:00:50.240]
So if you're uploading a Word
[01:00:52.570]
doc or PDF, you really should
[01:00:55.000]
make sure that that PDF or that
[01:00:57.430]
Word doc meets accessibility
[01:01:00.310]
standards.
[01:01:02.320]
It's the law right now, and it's
[01:01:05.290]
going to be even further
[01:01:08.150]
enforced in April 6th of next
[01:01:10.410]
year by the Department of Civil
[01:01:13.240]
Rights.
[01:01:14.380]
It's all going through.
[01:01:15.820]
And I would also say that if
[01:01:17.940]
you want everybody who comes to
[01:01:19.970]
your site to see content on
[01:01:21.880]
your site, then it should be a
[01:01:24.040]
web page.
[01:01:25.480]
If you have ever tried to view
[01:01:27.590]
a PDF on your phone, you'll
[01:01:29.430]
know that it's a difficult at
[01:01:31.480]
best experience, and sometimes
[01:01:33.890]
it's nearly unusable.
[01:01:35.760]
And so we have a board over
[01:01:37.370]
here that shows how much
[01:01:38.910]
traffic is coming to our site
[01:01:40.780]
and how people are coming to
[01:01:42.580]
our site.
[01:01:43.520]
And about 40% of our users
[01:01:45.650]
right now are on mobile devices.
[01:01:47.960]
It's even higher if they are
[01:01:50.080]
students.
[01:01:51.540]
And so if you want those users
[01:01:53.670]
to be able to see the content
[01:01:55.500]
on your site and not have a
[01:01:57.510]
frustrating experience, then
[01:01:59.900]
that content should be a web
[01:02:01.920]
page and not a PDF.
[01:02:03.520]
Otherwise, you know, you're
[01:02:05.690]
going to end up frustrating a
[01:02:07.710]
lot of your users.
[01:02:09.220]
And now that I've said that, if
[01:02:12.080]
you absolutely have to, please
[01:02:15.070]
make sure that that PDF or
[01:02:17.390]
document is accessible.
[01:02:21.020]
We have some documentation on
[01:02:23.140]
how you can do that.
[01:02:24.340]
It's not easy, but it's under
[01:02:27.160]
Media Library in the
[01:02:30.170]
documentation.
[01:02:30.880]
And let's see here, File Best
[01:02:33.010]
Practices.
[01:02:33.960]
I will put a link in there.
[01:02:35.580]
So I'm going to put a link to
[01:02:39.560]
Best Practices in here because
[01:02:43.660]
the two pages under the Best
[01:02:45.650]
Practices are Accessibility Errors
[01:02:48.230]
and Fixes in InDesign
[01:02:49.900]
and accessibility errors and
[01:02:51.940]
fixes in Word.
[01:02:52.600]
So again, I wouldn't recommend
[01:02:56.860]
putting, you know,
[01:02:59.780]
PDFs on your website if you
[01:03:01.900]
want people to see those very
[01:03:03.720]
easily.
[01:03:04.580]
But if you absolutely have to,
[01:03:06.700]
please make sure that it's
[01:03:08.020]
accessible.
[01:03:09.040]
So tagging is very similar to
[01:03:11.260]
if you upload an image, you
[01:03:13.360]
know,
[01:03:13.700]
we can say annual report, right?
[01:03:18.580]
So you can see that tag's going
[01:03:19.850]
to complete.
[01:03:20.600]
We know there's business and
[01:03:22.720]
finance.
[01:03:23.520]
And it's 2025, right?
[01:03:26.760]
So those tags were already
[01:03:28.880]
created.
[01:03:29.300]
We're adding it to our library.
[01:03:30.840]
And you can see that it's in
[01:03:33.680]
our library.
[01:03:35.220]
I'm going to show you how to
[01:03:37.350]
add a video next.
[01:03:38.680]
So let's just, if you want to
[01:03:41.500]
add a video to your website,
[01:03:44.080]
All you need to do is come to
[01:03:46.280]
Media Hub and copy the URL.
[01:03:48.700]
And then come back here, click
[01:03:53.500]
Add Media, Remote Video, add
[01:03:58.680]
the URL, add the tags.
[01:04:02.240]
I don't even know what the tags
[01:04:03.240]
are on this.
[01:04:03.800]
It says it's College of
[01:04:04.670]
Business.
[01:04:05.220]
Let's just say 25.
[01:04:14.080]
Save that. All right. So you
[01:04:17.960]
can see we've added a video and
[01:04:21.360]
a file. Well, how do you add
[01:04:24.770]
those to your pages? Well, we're
[01:04:28.120]
going to come back into content
[01:04:29.570]
here.
[01:04:30.080]
And we're going to go to our
[01:04:33.320]
department page. And we'll edit
[01:04:38.170]
this.
[01:04:41.480]
So similar to linking pages, if
[01:04:43.250]
you're linking a document that
[01:04:44.950]
you uploaded, it's super easy.
[01:04:46.940]
You just highlight it, click
[01:04:48.970]
this link button, and you start
[01:04:50.430]
typing the name of the file.
[01:04:52.360]
So, you know, it's called
[01:04:53.550]
annual report.
[01:04:54.400]
You can see it auto completes
[01:04:56.790]
here.
[01:04:57.500]
We just click it, select it,
[01:04:59.280]
and then it has created a link
[01:05:00.990]
right there.
[01:05:02.020]
Likewise, if we want to add an
[01:05:04.410]
image or sorry, a video, we
[01:05:06.700]
click, we just go to where we
[01:05:09.080]
want to add it.
[01:05:09.800]
We click our media library
[01:05:10.810]
button.
[01:05:11.260]
We click this remote video tab.
[01:05:13.780]
It takes a second to load
[01:05:15.900]
because it has to switch
[01:05:17.070]
library types.
[01:05:18.680]
And then you can see our
[01:05:20.800]
gratitude video.
[01:05:22.580]
We can insert that.
[01:05:25.300]
And then, you know, we have our
[01:05:28.190]
display options that are
[01:05:31.130]
similar to what they were for
[01:05:33.350]
the image.
[01:05:34.320]
So we're going to click save.
[01:05:39.800]
and now we can see if I roll
[01:05:42.160]
over this, it's a link to the
[01:05:44.830]
PDF, and likewise, our video
[01:05:47.860]
is embedded, so that is
[01:05:50.270]
everything related to, well,
[01:05:53.690]
not everything, that is a very
[01:05:56.660]
brief
[01:05:57.380]
overview of adding content to
[01:05:58.700]
your site, referencing content
[01:06:00.220]
to your site, adding links,
[01:06:01.500]
and things like that. Touch on
[01:06:04.340]
one more thing really quick, so
[01:06:07.330]
people, you know, if you're in
[01:06:09.780]
this training, you're either
[01:06:11.900]
already on a website or you're
[01:06:13.280]
going to be added to a website.
[01:06:15.240]
Um,
[01:06:15.620]
if you need to, if you're a
[01:06:17.250]
site admin on a site and you
[01:06:18.950]
need to add new people to a
[01:06:20.440]
site,
[01:06:20.980]
you'd go to people and then you'd
[01:06:23.410]
import them from the UNL
[01:06:25.210]
directory. So, you know,
[01:06:27.500]
you could, you search for them,
[01:06:31.540]
um, then you import them to the
[01:06:35.580]
site.
[01:06:39.780]
I don't know why I'm getting
[01:06:40.610]
that issue.
[01:06:41.100]
At any rate, once you have
[01:06:44.110]
added them, you'll get a screen
[01:06:46.880]
that looks like this, where you
[01:06:49.040]
can choose what their role is
[01:06:50.400]
going to be on that site.
[01:06:51.700]
So there's three different
[01:06:53.830]
levels, three different roles
[01:06:55.860]
that you can add people to.
[01:06:57.940]
So site admin, you can add
[01:07:00.060]
content, edit content, and
[01:07:01.830]
delete content.
[01:07:03.820]
You can add users and remove
[01:07:05.950]
users.
[01:07:06.700]
And then in site configuration,
[01:07:09.520]
which is under configuration
[01:07:11.770]
and system and basic site
[01:07:13.760]
settings, a site admin could
[01:07:16.670]
change these things.
[01:07:18.180]
So you shouldn't need to change
[01:07:19.740]
the title of your site.
[01:07:21.060]
You might want to change your
[01:07:23.160]
affiliation and you might want
[01:07:24.560]
to change your default front
[01:07:26.810]
homepage at some point.
[01:07:28.880]
So your affiliation, this is
[01:07:31.130]
just kind of like the parent
[01:07:33.200]
item to your website.
[01:07:35.040]
Some of you may have this, some
[01:07:36.260]
of you may not, you know.
[01:07:37.480]
So you can see here, this is
[01:07:39.240]
the affiliation.
[01:07:40.640]
It's this little line above the
[01:07:42.130]
title of your site.
[01:07:43.260]
Again, if you're a site admin,
[01:07:45.600]
you could change that.
[01:07:47.540]
An editor is a person who can
[01:07:50.360]
only add content or edit
[01:07:53.370]
content.
[01:07:54.000]
They cannot delete content,
[01:07:55.250]
they can't add or remove users,
[01:07:56.750]
and they can't change any site
[01:07:57.840]
admin stuff.
[01:07:58.880]
a viewer is something we refer
[01:08:01.690]
to as kind of the approver role.
[01:08:04.630]
So a viewer is somebody,
[01:08:06.720]
the only thing they can do is
[01:08:08.950]
view content on your website,
[01:08:11.490]
no matter what the status of
[01:08:13.730]
the
[01:08:14.200]
content is. And what I mean by
[01:08:16.450]
status is, let me show you
[01:08:18.350]
really quick. So if we go into
[01:08:20.590]
edit a
[01:08:21.120]
page or a piece of content on
[01:08:23.250]
our site, I hadn't touched on
[01:08:25.310]
this yet. By default, when you
[01:08:27.750]
create
[01:08:28.480]
a page and you click save, that
[01:08:30.150]
page is going to be published
[01:08:31.960]
just by default. It's going to
[01:08:33.440]
be
[01:08:33.640]
published. If you add it to the
[01:08:35.760]
navigation, anybody who comes
[01:08:37.140]
to your site will be able to
[01:08:38.760]
see it.
[01:08:39.500]
If it's published and it's not
[01:08:41.630]
in the navigation, the odds are
[01:08:43.770]
unlikely that anybody would
[01:08:45.730]
find it.
[01:08:46.580]
But if you have content that
[01:08:48.820]
you don't want anybody to see,
[01:08:51.340]
what you can do is actually,
[01:08:53.600]
when you create a page, you can
[01:08:55.720]
actually change the status to
[01:08:57.350]
unpublished. So, and then click
[01:08:59.360]
save. And then that page would
[01:09:01.440]
not be viewable by anybody
[01:09:02.650]
except those who have access to
[01:09:04.540]
your site.
[01:09:05.380]
So, and that includes the
[01:09:07.500]
viewer role. So what I'm
[01:09:09.340]
getting at here is let's just
[01:09:11.520]
say your supervisor
[01:09:12.800]
says, I need you to create
[01:09:14.840]
three new pages on your site,
[01:09:16.500]
on the site. This is the
[01:09:17.940]
content.
[01:09:18.820]
I don't want anybody to see
[01:09:20.940]
these until I take a look at
[01:09:22.310]
them and give you the thumbs up.
[01:09:24.820]
So in that
[01:09:26.200]
case, you'd build the pages,
[01:09:27.810]
you'd make sure that they are
[01:09:29.310]
unpublished by default, because
[01:09:31.110]
then
[01:09:31.460]
nobody could see them. And then
[01:09:33.580]
you would add that person as a
[01:09:35.100]
viewer role. And then you could
[01:09:37.290]
send
[01:09:37.460]
those links to those unpublished
[01:09:39.590]
pages to them. And they could
[01:09:41.530]
say, you know, thumbs up or
[01:09:43.350]
thumbs
[01:09:43.900]
down or make these changes,
[01:09:44.940]
whatever. I don't want to make
[01:09:46.100]
the changes, I just want to
[01:09:47.090]
approve it,
[01:09:47.720]
right? So viewer, basically,
[01:09:49.350]
that's all they can do. They
[01:09:50.740]
can view pages, whether they're
[01:09:52.420]
unpublished or published. You'll
[01:09:54.620]
also notice down here, there's
[01:09:56.530]
something called draft.
[01:09:58.280]
So this basically is for pages
[01:10:00.410]
that you've already created.
[01:10:02.690]
And maybe you want to create
[01:10:04.720]
a new version of that page that
[01:10:07.030]
you don't quite want to go
[01:10:08.970]
public with yet.
[01:10:10.560]
And that would be draft status.
[01:10:12.330]
And again, that is something
[01:10:13.850]
that a viewer could see. So
[01:10:15.540]
maybe,
[01:10:16.540]
Again, you have a page that's
[01:10:18.550]
already live and you have some
[01:10:19.930]
changes that are sensitive to
[01:10:21.390]
you don't want the public to
[01:10:22.890]
see them.
[01:10:23.640]
You could create a new draft
[01:10:25.050]
and then you could share that
[01:10:26.530]
with a viewer or anybody else
[01:10:28.010]
who have access to your site
[01:10:29.470]
and they can see that before it
[01:10:30.950]
goes live.
[01:10:31.780]
And then you just change that
[01:10:33.900]
published status to published
[01:10:35.080]
if you wanted it to go live.
[01:10:36.820]
So that is access controls and
[01:10:42.650]
everything else.
[01:10:45.940]
So the last, the very, very,
[01:10:47.500]
very last thing,
[01:10:48.500]
I swear that we're done after
[01:10:49.750]
this.
[01:10:50.160]
So cms.unl.edu.
[01:10:54.240]
You've obviously already been
[01:10:56.690]
to this site
[01:10:57.660]
because you've already signed
[01:10:58.700]
up for this training.
[01:10:59.520]
You've attended the training.
[01:11:00.500]
So we have this kind of in
[01:11:01.600]
three boxes down here.
[01:11:02.840]
Get started.
[01:11:04.200]
You're getting started right
[01:11:05.620]
now.
[01:11:05.980]
So request a site and start
[01:11:08.100]
building.
[01:11:08.740]
So maybe you already have
[01:11:10.860]
access to a site
[01:11:11.960]
and that's awesome.
[01:11:12.720]
You're already well on your way.
[01:11:14.820]
If you do not have access to a
[01:11:16.510]
site and you need a new site,
[01:11:18.250]
you can request a new site here.
[01:11:20.440]
This is also where we have a
[01:11:21.750]
link to our documentation.
[01:11:23.260]
So if you ever forget where
[01:11:25.380]
documentation is, you can come
[01:11:26.810]
here and click view
[01:11:27.970]
documentation.
[01:11:29.240]
So the third step, maybe you
[01:11:31.710]
have a site that isn't public
[01:11:34.170]
yet.
[01:11:34.880]
Maybe you have to build a new
[01:11:36.030]
site.
[01:11:37.300]
Once you have got your site
[01:11:38.900]
ready to go and you want it to
[01:11:40.660]
be public, maybe at widgets.unl.edu
[01:11:43.130]
or something like that, this is
[01:11:45.370]
where you'd click this button
[01:11:46.460]
to make your site public.
[01:11:48.740]
If you do not have a subdomain
[01:11:51.140]
for your site, like widgets.unl.edu,
[01:11:54.960]
before you fill out this form
[01:11:57.340]
to make your site public, you'd
[01:12:00.040]
actually need to fill out one
[01:12:02.390]
more form.
[01:12:03.800]
I know it's kind of like, you
[01:12:05.420]
know, administrative loops, but
[01:12:07.580]
you have to fill out a subdomain
[01:12:09.760]
request form to request that
[01:12:11.310]
subdomain before you go live
[01:12:13.000]
with your site.
[01:12:14.140]
So kind of those are the steps
[01:12:16.950]
of requesting a site, making a
[01:12:19.970]
site live at UNL.
[01:12:21.500]
And that is, I swear, that is
[01:12:23.900]
everything I have for today.
[01:12:26.820]
So if anybody has any questions,
[01:12:29.660]
I will take those now and we
[01:12:31.820]
can try to, I can try to
[01:12:33.760]
answer any questions you may
[01:12:34.960]
have.
[01:12:35.340]
Like I said, I recorded this
[01:12:37.460]
training.
[01:12:37.960]
I will get it captioned and
[01:12:40.080]
uploaded to Media Hub.
[01:12:41.160]
And then I will send that link
[01:12:42.290]
around later if you want to rewatch
[01:12:43.640]
that at your own leisure.
[01:12:44.840]
And yeah.
[01:12:47.340]
All right.
[01:12:48.220]
If anybody has questions, feel
[01:12:50.340]
free to type them into the chat
[01:12:51.720]
window or just speak up
[01:12:53.200]
and we can go through them.
[01:12:56.820]
oh i do have one last thing so
[01:13:02.650]
if you um if you are new to a
[01:13:07.120]
site or you know new to unl
[01:13:12.180]
we have a web developer network
[01:13:15.020]
chat room on slack and there's
[01:13:17.990]
like any pretty much anybody
[01:13:20.220]
who's developing websites at unl
[01:13:21.770]
is in there so there's like 500
[01:13:23.520]
people in there right now
[01:13:24.740]
It's a good place to get, you
[01:13:26.440]
know, if you run into a bug or
[01:13:28.140]
if you want some feedback on
[01:13:29.790]
your site, if you have a
[01:13:31.220]
question about something, about
[01:13:33.310]
how it works, usually that's a
[01:13:35.190]
really good place to get pretty
[01:13:37.220]
quick response in terms of, you
[01:13:38.950]
know, if you have a question,
[01:13:40.810]
especially, you know, if you
[01:13:42.830]
include a URL to a page you're
[01:13:44.360]
working on and plop it in there,
[01:13:46.270]
somebody will usually respond
[01:13:48.140]
and give you some feedback.
[01:13:50.440]
So that's a really good place
[01:13:52.450]
for immediate feedback. If you
[01:13:54.440]
have further questions outside
[01:13:56.930]
of this training, you know, you
[01:13:59.490]
can ask, feel free to send me a
[01:14:01.770]
message and I can try to work
[01:14:03.860]
through those issues with you.
[01:14:06.600]
But if anybody has any
[01:14:08.660]
questions, you can take them
[01:14:11.530]
now. Otherwise, we will call
[01:14:14.630]
this good for today.
[01:14:20.440]
I don't have any questions that
[01:14:22.550]
pertains to the training per se,
[01:14:24.230]
but I kind of want to touch
[01:14:25.700]
back on our conversation about
[01:14:27.530]
the test page that we created.
[01:14:29.560]
Okay.
[01:14:30.120]
So I don't know if I need to
[01:14:32.250]
schedule a time with you or if.
[01:14:35.120]
Yeah, that'd probably be best.
[01:14:37.380]
I got to hop off here in a
[01:14:39.500]
little bit.
[01:14:40.780]
But yeah, just drop me a
[01:14:42.900]
message.
[01:14:43.320]
Are you on Slack too?
[01:14:44.480]
I mean.
[01:14:45.060]
Do you have the link for that
[01:14:46.570]
that you can share with us or
[01:14:48.080]
how do we get on there?
[01:14:50.440]
I think what would be best is
[01:14:52.560]
if you just message me just or
[01:14:54.530]
send me an email and if you're
[01:14:56.650]
not in
[01:14:57.200]
there I can just add you uh
[01:14:59.320]
directly to slack so just send
[01:15:01.560]
me a message uh reply to the
[01:15:03.650]
message I
[01:15:04.580]
sent this morning uh again I'll
[01:15:06.970]
message you all with a video
[01:15:09.080]
later today but yeah thank you
[01:15:11.370]
all
[01:15:11.740]
right is that everything all
[01:15:13.860]
right thank you all for signing
[01:15:15.560]
up and joining me this morning
[01:15:17.540]
have a good rest of your day
[01:15:20.560]
thanks a lot bye
The screen size you are trying to search captions on is too small!
You can always
jump over to MediaHub
