Earlier this year, the Editing team ran a large study of the Reply Tool. The main goal was to find out whether the Reply Tool helped newer editors communicate on wiki. The second goal was to see whether the comments that newer editors made using the tool needed to be reverted more frequently than comments newer editors made with the existing wikitext page editor.

• Newer editors who had automatic ("default on") access to the Reply tool were more likely to post a comment on a talk page.
• The comments that newer editors made with the Reply Tool were also less likely to be reverted than the comments that newer editors made with page editing.

The team is planning to make the Reply tool available to everyone as an opt-out preference in the coming months. This has already happened at the Arabic, Czech, and Hungarian Wikipedias.

The next step is to resolve a technical challenge. Then, they will deploy the Reply tool first to the Wikipedias that participated in the study. After that, they will deploy it, in stages, to the other Wikipedias and all WMF-hosted wikis.

You can turn on "Discussion tools" in Beta Features now. After you get the Reply tool, you can change your preferences at any time in Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing-discussion.

वर्ग:पुणे जिल्ह्यामधील गावे या वर्गात जवळपास १८१८ पाने आणि काही उपवर्ग आहेत ते वर्ग:पुणे जिल्ह्यातील गावे मध्ये हलवावे.

नमस्कार, मी आत्ताच वर्ग:नांदेड जिल्ह्यातील गावे ला वर्ग:महाराष्ट्र राज्यातील शहरे व गावे वर्ग म्हणून जोडले आहे. मला वाटतं अशा प्रकारे सर्व जिल्ह्यातील वर्गात हा मुख्य वर्ग म्हणून जोडावा. तसेच सर्व जिल्ह्याच्या वर्गात एक बदल सुचवू इच्छितो, जिल्ह्यामधील चे जिल्ह्यातील असे नामांतर करावे.

@Shantanuo आणि Usernamekiran: नमस्कार, बॉट च्या संपदनां नंतर माझ्या निदर्शनास दोन चुका आढळून आल्या आहेत.

1. 'विष्णु' चे 'विष्णू' केल्याने वर्ग:विष्णु हा वर्ग रिकामा झाला आणि एकूण सोळा पाने या वर्गातून बाहेर गेलीत.
2. सुरुवात हा शब्द सुरूवात असा केल्या गेल्याने अनेक पानांवरील महितीचौकटीत बदल झाला, जसेकी राष्ट्रकूट राजघराणे या पानावर बॉट संपदनापूर्वी ७५३ हे सुरुवात वर्ष दिसत होते, कृपया हे पहा. परंतु संपादन झाल्यावर ७५३ गायब होऊन बॉट संपदाना नंतर त्याजागी {{{सुरुवात_वर्ष}}} असे दिसू लागले. मला वाटते असे माहितीचौकटीतील आणि वर्गातील झालेले बदल यांनी आपल्यासाठी एक नवीन काम वाढवून ठेवले आहे.- संतोष गोरे ( 💬 ) १४:२५, २५ मार्च २०२२ (IST)Reply

"सुरुवात" आणि "सुरूवात" यापैकी जे योग्य असेल ते आपण ठेवू. जर "सुरूवात" योग्य असेल, तर साच्यामध्ये तसे बदल करावे लागतील. केवळ एक बदल केला, तर साच्यासंदर्भात सगळं व्यवस्थित होईल. वर्ग:विष्णू तयार केल्याने सगळं व्यवस्थित झालं :-) सुरुवातीचे काही दिवस आपल्याला असे छोटे-मोठे संपादने करावे लागतील. नंतर सगळं आपोआप सुरळीत चालायला लागेल. विष्णु लेख admin ला हलवावा लागेल. —usernamekiran (talk) २२:०५, २५ मार्च २०२२ (IST)Reply

@संतोष गोरे, Aditya tamhankar, Vikrantkorde, अभय नातू, Khirid Harshad, Omega45, आणि Shantanuo: नमस्कार. गेल्या काही दिवसात मला असे लक्षात आले कि मराठी विकिपीडियावर एक-दोन ओळींचे, आणि/किंवा वर्ग नसलेले भरपूर लेख आहेत. KiranBOT II नी आत्तापर्यंत जवळपास ६७,००० संपादने केलीत, पण ती फक्त ३२,५०० पानांवरच (लेख) झालीत. एकूण लेख जवळपास ८४,००० आहेत - म्हणजे जवळपास ५१,५०० लेखांवर bot नी संपादने नाही केलीत.

इंग्रजी विकिपीडियावर एक bot आहे जो भरपूर दिवसांमध्ये संपादन न झालेल्या लेखांची यादी तयार करतो. इंग्रजी विकिपीडियावर हा bot सध्या संपादन न झालेल्या ५०० लेखांची यादी Wikipedia:Database reports/Forgotten articles इथे प्रत्येक महिन्याला तयार करतो.

जर इथे अशी यादी तयार करण्यात येत असेल तर आपल्याला त्याचा खूप फायदा होईल असे मला वाटते. मी ह्यासंदर्भात विकिपीडिया/विकीमीडियाच्या इंजिनिअरला संपर्क केला, तर ते म्हटले हे सहज शक्य आहे. त्यांनी मला काही बाबींचे भाषांतर मागितले आहे. पुढील सारणीमध्ये "मराठी मजकूर" रकान्यामध्ये मला सुचल्याप्रमाणे मी भाषांतर केले आहे. भाषांतर, report bot ची कार्यप्रणालीबद्दल काही शंका असतील, किंवा भाषांतर/कार्यप्रणाली मध्ये काही बदल सुचवायचे असतील, तर इथे कळवावे हि विनंती. नेहमी सक्रिय असणाऱ्या संपादकांना साद घालतोय, जर कोणी राहून गेले असेल तर त्यांनापण साद घालण्याची विनंती करतो. —usernamekiran (talk) ००:२२, २ मे २०२२ (IST)Reply

भाषांतरात बदल सुचविले आहेत. forgotten-articles-editcount हे प्रत्येक पानावरील एकूण संपादने दाखवेल का? तसे असल्यास ते स्पष्ट करावे, उदा - या पानावरील एकूण संपादने

तुम्ही दिलेल्या लिंक वर गेलो असता "परवानगी त्रुटी. तुम्हाला पहारा न दिलेल्या पानांची यादी पहा क्रियेची परवानगी नाही, खालील कारणासाठी: आपण विनीत केलेली कृती खालील समूहासाठी मर्यादित आहे: प्रचालक." असा error येतो. यादीत तीन रकाने असतात. उदाहरणापूरती आकडेवारी मनानी टाकली:

पहिला प्रश्न, हे टास्क नक्की काय करणार आहे? छोटी पाने किंवा अवर्गीकृत पाने शोधणार, का सगळ्यात कमी बदल असलेले लेख / बऱ्याच काळापासून संपादने नसलेली पाने शोधणार, का सगळ्यात कमी भेटी दिल्या गेलेली पाने शोधणार?

Hello everyone, I previously wrote on the 27th September to advise that the Wikidata item sitelink will change places in the sidebar menu, moving from the General section into the In Other Projects section. The scheduled rollout date of 04.10.2024 was delayed due to a necessary request for Mobile/MinervaNeue skin. I am happy to inform that the global rollout can now proceed and will occur later today, 22.10.2024 at 15:00 UTC-2. Please let us know if you notice any problems or bugs after this change. 2. Get a sneak peak and help shape the Visual Editor user designs

   Help us test the new design prototypes by participating in user sessions – sign up here to receive an invite. We're especially hoping to speak with people from underrepresented and diverse groups. If that's you, please consider signing up! No prior or extensive editing experience is required. User sessions will start May 14th.

We plan to bring this feature to Wikimedia wikis later this year. We’ll reach out to wikis for piloting in time for deployments. Creators and maintainers of reference-related tools and templates will be contacted beforehand as well.

Hi all! We have good news to share regarding the ongoing problem with graphs and charts affecting all wikis that use them.

As you probably know, the old Graph extension was disabled in 2023 due to security reasons. We’ve worked in these two years to find a solution that could replace the old extension, and provide a safer and better solution to users who wanted to showcase graphs and charts in their articles. We therefore developed the Charts extension, which will be replacing the old Graph extension and potentially also the EasyTimeline extension.

After successfully deploying the extension on Italian, Swedish, and Hebrew Wikipedia, as well as on MediaWiki.org, as part of a pilot phase, we are now happy to announce that we are moving forward with the next phase of deployment, which will also include your wiki.

The deployment will happen in batches, and will start from May 6. Please, consult our page on MediaWiki.org to discover when the new Charts extension will be deployed on your wiki. You can also consult the documentation about the extension on MediaWiki.org.

If you have questions, need clarifications, or just want to express your opinion about it, please refer to the project’s talk page on Mediawiki.org, or ping me directly under this thread. If you encounter issues using Charts once it gets enabled on your wiki, please report it on the talk page or at Phabricator.

We invite your community to participate in the 6th edition of the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos Campaign, a global campaign taking place from July 1 to August 31, 2025.

Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photos, then add a suitable photo from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, Wiki Loves Monuments, etc.) over the years.

More than 80 Wikimedia affiliates have participated since the campaign was launched in 2020 and have added images to more than 400,000 Wikipedia articles in over 245 Wikipedia languages. Thanks to the volunteer contributors!

We now invite your community to organize and lead the campaign within your community. As a local organizer, you may:

• Encourage individual members to take part by adding images to Wikipedia articles.
• Host edit-a-thons focused on improving visual content.
• Organize training workshops to teach contributors how to correctly integrate images into Wikipedia.

These activities will help build local capacity and increase visual content across Wikipedia.

Please note that for participants to be eligible to participate in the campaign, they need to have registered an account for at least a year before the official start date of the contest. That is, for the 2025 edition, they must have registered an account on or before July 1, 2025. The account can be from any Wikimedia project wikis.

The organizing team is looking for a contact person to coordinate WPWP participation at the Wikimedia user group or chapter level (geographically or thematically) or for a language Wikipedia.

Hello everyone, the Wikidata For Wikimedia Projects team is excited to announce an upcoming change in how Wikidata edit changelogs are displayed in your Watchlists and Recent Changes lists. If an edit is made on Wikidata that affects a page in another Wikimedia Project, the changelog will contain some information about the nature of the edit. This can include a QID (or Q-number), a PID (or P-number) and a value (which can be text, numbers, dates, or also QID or PID’s). Confused by these terms? See the Wikidata:Glossary for further explanations.

The upcoming change is scheduled for 17.07.2025, between 1300 - 1500 UTC. The change will display the label (item name) alongside any QID or PIDs, as seen in the image below:

These changes will only be visible if you have Wikidata edits enabled in your User Preferences for Watchlists and Recent Changes, or have the active filter ‘Wikidata edits’ checkbox toggled on, directly on the Watchlist and Recent Changes pages.

Your bot and gadget may be affected! There are thousands of bots, gadgets and user-scripts and whilst we have researched potential effects to many of them, we cannot guarantee there won’t be some that are broken or affected by this change.

Hello everyone,

This is a notice regarding an ongoing data migration on Wikidata that may affect your election-related templates and Lua modules (such as Module:Itemgroup/list).

The Change:
Currently, many templates pull electoral maps from Wikidata using the property P1846, combined with the qualifier P180: Q19571328.

We are migrating this data (across roughly 4,000 items) to a newly created, dedicated property: P14226.

What You Need To Do:
To ensure your templates and infoboxes do not break or lose their maps, please update your local code to fetch data from P14226 instead of the old P1846 + P180 structure. A list of pages was generated using Wikimedia Global Search.

Deadline:
We are temporarily retaining the old data on P1846 to allow for a smooth transition. However, to complete the data cleanup on Wikidata, the old P1846 statements will be removed after May 1, 2026. Please update your modules and templates before this date to prevent any disruption to your wiki's election articles.
