Greetings Fvasconcellos
I am reaching out to you as I see you have an interest in heraldry and in the past you have prepared free to use images of escutcheons for Wiki Commons
I am seeking help to improve the page Armorial of British universities.
Here are two universities without a 'free to use' ie available on Wiki Commons, ecutcheon. These are the University of Sunderland and Teesside University. Indeed ecutcheons are also lacking for the University of the Built Environment and University of the Arts London and Leeds Beckett University Many of the ecutcheons in use in the article have been created within Wiki Commons by 'artists' like yourself, based on the heraldic descriptions (blazons) or using a template.
If you have the time and inclination to prepare one (or more) of the missing escutcheon, you will have my thanks and appreciation. My editing skills are OK-ish but I don't even know where to start in preparing a good quality images
Kind regards ~~hjamesberglen~~
- Hi there! Certainly, I'd be happy to help. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 18:23, 28 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hi Fvasconcellos, the stereochemical information is missig for the hydroxy group in the middle (see https://commonchemistry.cas.org/detail?ref=15879-93-3). Are you willing to update your structural formula? --Leyo 10:09, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Absolutely, I've updated the file! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 14:16, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Thank you. --Leyo 19:40, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- In de.wikipedia, I received the complaint that the stereochemistry of two substituents on the oxalane ring (1,2-ethanediol, hydroxy) is missing/unclear (see other structural formulas in Category:Chloralose for comparison). --Leyo 08:00, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- I do understand, but that is to be expected for this style; explicit hashed/wedged bonds to denote stereochemistry should not be necessary with a (quasi-)Haworth representation such as this one. I've updated the file again for added clarity, but I'm not sure it's an improvement. Perhaps using the "flat" skeletal formula with explicit stereochemistry would be preferred at de.wiki? - @Leyo: I've also uploaded a 3D model, although I'm not sure those are used (or useful) at de.wiki. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 16:30, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Thank you. It's fine now. :-) --Leyo 13:17, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

File:Samana bay company.jpg hi I was wondering if you could re-create this seal and make it into a (PNG or SVG). Gloryto11 (talk) 20:50, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- Hi there! What is the source of the file?
- I would also need to know more about the seal to recreate it, for example, what each part of the seal represents... (what is the bird, what are the plants, who are the man and woman, etc.) Fvasconcellos (t·c) 22:00, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
- File:3rd Rejected US Coat of Arms.svg those are the people on the seal
- File:Coat of Arms of the city of Moca, DR.jpg the woman is holding the same thing that’s at the bottom of this coat of arms
- The man is holding a sword
- File:Escudo de la Provincia Samaná.svg The arrows in the middle of the seals were the arrows to the coat of arms of Samana
- the bird is a Bald Eagle
