We’re excited to announce that the
Wiki Science Competition 2025 in India
is being organized for the very first time at a
national level
This global campaign celebrates science through
freely licensed images, videos, and other media
on Wikimedia Commons. By participating, you help make science more
visible, accessible, and inspiring
to people everywhere.
The competition features
eight exciting categories
People in Science
Microscopy
Astronomy
Everyday Science
Scientific Equipment
Chemistry
Physics
Special Category
Campaign Duration:
The competition will run from
1 November to 15 December 2025
You can upload your images anytime during this period.
Images taken
before 1 November 2025
are also eligible, as long as they have
never been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons before
We’re excited to introduce the first-ever dedicated "Mobile Photography" participation option.
Now, you can upload photographs taken with your mobile phone directly through a
special upload wizard
This new option is designed to encourage
students and individuals who may not have access to high-end cameras like DSLRs
to participate.
Whether your images are captured using a
mobile phone
or a
professional DSLR
, all submissions will be judged equally within the relevant category.
This ensures that everyone has an equal opportunity to capture and share the wonders of science from their own perspective.
